  • Now into my 2nd year of study in Music Production I become even more gobsmacked by your skills and what you do Daniel (I've been a fan of yours for some time).

    I LOVE this song!

WHY O WHY HAS THIS ONLY 5 THOUSAND VIEWS? IT'S INCREDIBLE!!!!!

  • you are the mike oldfield of the millenium, fantastic, love the flow.

  • you are genius

  • Ricky heaven - where do you live and what time are you normally out of the house?! ;)

  • Thanks Daniel - excellent!

  • Which equipement do you use to record on Mac? I see some box but cant understand what is it(

  • @mrwhitemanvideo search YouTube for my video "how do you make your guitar sound like that"

  • @danielearwicker Thanx!

  • what a great track! reminds me a bit like XTC and Thomas Dolby too, but still original and stands on its own like all your stuff, of course. thx for posting and sharing.

  • @jericgarner - just saw your comment, you've reminded me to cover something by T. Dolby, I keep meaning to.

  • I wish I could hire him as a music producer of my songs ( Drums, Guitars, bass, Etc... ), would have interest? a home studio version on Youtube:

  • really good

  • excellent daniel i like the break

  • I'm so annoyed that this didn't show up in my subscription box back in March! This is an amazing track Daniel; I can't wait to hear more of your stuff :)

  • I'm so envious of your neighbours - keep on rockin'!

  • Really catchy I love this tune.........Big thumbs up from me Daniel, would it be ok if I said possibly the best track you have ever done???

  • i think you're are keeping Rickenbacker afloat single handed. :) your singing is getting better with each new recording, vocal harmonies too! cool stuff.

  • great little home studio... nice vid and song :D

  • What's the model of the blue Ric?

  • Is it just me, or are your songs getting better and better? I listened to your first album( Stigmata Playing Up Again) I give it about a 9. Next album (Letters to Cyril Connolly) I give about a 9 and a 1/2. This song, however, I give it a solid 10! Good Job!

  • @isud2000 - thanks! i'm going to try and score 11 next.

  • I've been listening to this song non-stop on the last few days..., it is absolutely brilliant!

    Cheers from Brazil!

  • @luisleema - thank you, you should stop to eat and sleep sometimes though.

  • @luisleema - thank you, you should stop to eat and sleep sometimes though.

  • Your best track yet, in my opinion. Looking forward to seeing the new album come together.

  • @325C58 - much appreciated, i'm probably going to take more time on each track this time.

  • If the Beatles had recorded Revolver in 2010, it just might have sounded something like this...

  • Good tune, fine playing, excellent production and beautiful guitars!

  • Dan, this track is sick-catchy. 48 hours and it's still bouncing in my head. Wonderful job!

  • Again a quality track Daniel! Have you ever considered selling you records on ebay? I´d love to have original primrose leuge albums standing amongst my collection!

  • @krienmineel - no, though i have a justgiving page if anyone is feeling generous. the link is on the PL home page. i am probably going to sell some music equipment on ebay soon (not rickenbackers, sorry...)

  • lol i spot manjit kumar's quantum on your bookshelf..

  • I've become a real fan. Love the way you show and share how it all happens!

  • And with releasing it I meant on a single, a physical release.

  • Hey Daniel, this song is fantastic. From the moment I heard those Madchester-drums I know it was gonna be good, but the chorus is just gold! Release it or something.

  • you are the kings of ricks, dude.

  • Those Rickenbackers sound great in the mix! Love it!!

  • I love the backwards(or backwards sounding) guitar!!

  • You just keep suprising me, Dan. You're music is constanly fresh. Loved this one/

  • You just keep suprising me, dan. Your music is constantly fresh. Loved this one.

  • Havoc Monk Unseen :-) Sounds like a Fall album title

  • Thanks for all these amazing comments once again. Also an extra thank you to the people who've donated on the justgiving page (see the link on the PL website).

  • I could definitely hear this and like it on the radio.

  • I agree with isud2000, you've never had a bad song, and this new one continues the streak of greatness. Excellent job Daniel!!

  • Ah how I wish my ears could accept this music. Dissonance takes time.

  • @swamygee - Which parts are you finding most difficult? There are a lot of chord changes packed into the verse and the vocal melody rides over them, so I suppose I'm using dissonance and suspensions and stuff like that - I don't really know the terminology. Would be interesting if someone could explain to me what I've done.

  • The intro, to anyone who doesn't know your music it would seem like you're that old guy trying to take up guitar to avert his mid life crisis. But the trick I found is that you have to listen to this song a few times just for your brain to get the hang of it. Even the minors, diminished chords were once considered dissonant in medieval times, but now are standard in the musical repertoire. You keep experimenting. BTW the chorus is just stuck in my ears since yesterday, great job.

  • Glad you like the chorus. I'm not sure what you mean about the intro - in fact it sounds kind of insulting. But maybe I misunderstood you.

  • Oops, Sorry, I dint mean to Daniel. That was just my bad attempt at humour. Its just that the first time you hear this song the intro part is like a bit off the key especially the slide at 0:34. I can't figure out if you are deliberately playing off key or the effect you are using for your guitar is altering the pitch of the notes. Anyway after repeated plays, I'm all set now to enjoy this song in its entirety.

  • this is actually kinda good.. i like the dissonance

  • awesome

  • For the love of god get a band together and tour! The World Needs you!

  • Great number! as usual from Primrose League

  • funky. a bit style council ish

  • Superb......

  • Groovy song! To be honest, I haven't heard one bad song from you, be it your original material or a cover song. Love your instruments as well. Good Job!

    isud2000

  • Best vocals ever! Love the fade out at the end.

  • 330 attack!

I really like this track. It's like if Trafalgar and Listening For The Signal had a kid and it's hit that rebellious teenage phase in its life. The lyrics about "illegal sidewalk art" provide that added edge that I thought couldn't be beat with Signal.

The only thing I have to comment on that I wish would change was the fact that the song ended too abruptly; I thought the coda sounded promising. But other than that, nothing but genius.

P.S. I want mandolin in the next track! :)

  • @FriedGold8942 - I thought about playing that fade out part for longer and then going into another chorus. But I thought it seemed cooler to have this nice bit of extra music that disappears at the end.

  • @FriedGold8942 It may take time to save for a Rickenbacker mandolin they run in the same price range as the guitars ;-)

  • Great beat _)))))))))))) like always

  • Wow, you are so gifted!

  • Daniel are you using any amp modeling software?

  • @Dejital - yes, I'm using DigiDesign's Eleven plugin, the AC-30 setting is amazing.

  • Rad work! The riff kinda reminds me of Trafalgar.

  • Love your Music Dan, so Awesome.

    peace

    Chris

  • Amazing work!

  • :-O THIS IS AWESOME!!!

  • Sounds like album No3 is gonna be another cracker! Look forward to hearing it's progression.

    Interesting album title... hmm.
