  • Awsome job and tractor, and this is coming froma farmall guy. So what turbo did you replace the HX50 with? Because 5 bar is around 70 psi so I think a 2.6-3.0inch inducer Schwitzer S366 might be a good replacement. Just an idea, keep up the pulling!

  • Nice work, great video. Good luck in the future.

  • Great vidio

  • This is an awesome vid. I wish there was more performance rebuilds like this!

  • Hay samswiss that is one bad deere glad you shared that with us good luck in every pull.

  • Pull that thing in fisrt thats where the most lugging power comes from and your not gonna carry momentum with a sled

  • un bon vidéo bravo!!! bon montage photo.vidéo...et de tracteur!!!

  • Now that was a Sweet video !! at first you guys looked like you dident know what to do. But all I can say is you boys are the REAL deal. You took her down to nothing and made one heck of a puller WTG.

I was wondering how much boost you were running then I saw the intake manifold blow. You did a real nice job with the new intake,

Swiss watches and now Swiss Super Tractors.

Thanks a bunch for the post now I think I will get my Super C ready for a tractor pull hehe.

  • wooooow man! i liked your job! it was incredible! i used to have a jd 4040 with the same front! this gives me a great idea! lol i'm sorry for my english i'm from Argentina. good luck!

  • need to no if thehead off 8630jd will work 4 an 8650jd

  • WOW! your the smartest mechanic in the world

    pitty it blew up

  • i m not a mechanic...

  • @Samswiss It's nice to see rednecks are world wide. Love the vid!

  • i love this work, see my video, we have rebuilt that jd 3130 to. its a lot of wurk but its a nice tractor now. i make a video in the feature how the tractor becomed. we are dutch. i love jd.

greetz of the north of netherlands.

  • bueno

  • NICE!!! its huge work....!

  • where did you get that fuel pump made? and how much did that cost? i want to put some thing like that on my deutz 130 06

  • From a guy in the netherlands. costs quiet a lot. was the most expensive part of the whole tractor.

  • nice!!!!!

    5 *****

  • Hi again without being rude I bet it runs sweater than a swiss watch.

do you get to Gt ecleston england / uk

    good music

  • great clip, there is a lot of work gone into rebuilding this machine. I've had a bit of experence working on a big deere people said at the time do you no what your doing, no not exactly everything you need to stip them has to be big ie lifting equip once you start they are easy . the engineering is fantastic when you get inside them. the only downside is you need a big wallet. anyway I wish I was involved in your restoratiion prodject you've put the hours in looks like a nice bit of teamwork.

  • One Word ...... BEAST!

  • i have seen you in holland this sunday the tractor is very nice, sounds nice but way dit you drive that slow in holland?

  • Hey betturbo.

Thanks for the compliments.Well, the reason why i drove so slow is simply because in a bigger gear he would have died. In this cathegory (4.5ton Eurochallange = simular to 4.5ton Supersport in NL) there were Tractors with 9 litres engines, intercooler and far above 1000 hp. I m competing in the 4.5ton Sport cathegory. You are only alowd to have 7 litres engines without intercooler. Wich means with 550 hp you can't drive as fast... as the strong guys ;-)

But i had a lot of fun ;-)

  • ok thanks and good luck for the rest of the saeson

nothing runs like a deere ;-)

  • nice john deere!

  • bravo molto bravo....

  • great job!! You can be proud on yourself!

  • Thanks mate.

  • the blown intake was is from a4630

a have also a original 4430 and wanna give it a bit more power

  • wow how much did it cost all of it and how much did the injection pump cost!!!

  • A lot of work.... and a few bucks

  • hey Samswiss, i was wondering if you knew how many cfm of air your head would flow. you guys must be doin somethin right if your getting 600 hp out of a stock small block. the head i have now will flow 330 and i was told its the most you can get out of a cast iron head. im from the u.s. and i was curious what these dutch guys were doin as far as head work.

  • hey deereman52, i don't know that exactly. before i tell you a rubish i will talk to a few guys. first pull in end of april will show if there are 600hp, thats just a guess. we will see. talk 2 u soon again.

  • ok sounds good. im trying to put together a good fuel system for mine and was wondering what might match our head. no hurry though. if you can post your pull in april so we can all see it!

  • hey deereman52, i made the research for your question, so here is the answer I got. This 4430 cyl head flows between 265-280 cfm. The builder explained me even more important is the swirl. More cfm doesn't mean more hp, also swirl is important. In this class (max 427cui) you don't need an 55series head. The 55 series head will flow more, but to have also a better swirl you need a bigger combustion chamber, means a bigger engine. Greez danoo

  • In these rpm limited classes we drive here, also very important is a good cam, which make the engine running still at 1800rpm, with that hp. Greez danoo

  • Wow! Our 4430 never sounded like that!

    Nice Full Pull!

    Take Care,

    John

  • nice video ;)

whats the name of the first song?

  • "A little bit of life" from Craig Morgen

    Thanks

  • Hey why do almost all tractor pullers use 2 wheel drive?

  • I learned it in a physic lessen at school. If the front axle goes a little up and down you get more traction. and like this you can't provit of the 4wd.

the main goal at tractor pulling is to get as much waight as possible on the back axle while pulling the sled.like this you put the power to the ground and pull the sled the furtherest.Never forget the waight what cames over the chain from the sled while pulling.

In the light cat. til 6t in swiss there are always 2wds on the first 3 places.

  • alors Sam, Cudrefin 2010 ?

  • Je pense que oui.

  • hey do you know who bult the head that your running. i have a neighbor that bulds heads and sends them to europe all the time

  • The Flowing and the installing of the bigger valves was done by dutch guys. i m pretty sure they did it themselves.

  • Hey guys.. I like the 6-cylinder, I'm quite a fan of them, all my trucks have them.. Not diesel..

Fuel injected gas. One you've heard but.. Is that a gas or diesel 6?? I've used both and do recommend both, good power and torque..

Do you have fuel-injection?? Post a video of 2008 if you can, would love to see your performance..:-)) USA Eric F.

  • lol i like 4 and 6 cylinders lol XD but we only have 1 6 cyl. because we only have like 80 acres in total so we only really need one, its a 6715 its low power i wished we had a 7630 or 7930 with ils ;D having IVT trans, becuase i always wanted to try using ivt because i used like snyc shuttle, power reverser, powerquad+ and normal and powershift and autoquad but never ivt it looks so complicated though

  • Time for water injection don't you think?

  • Well... yes.

But then i have to change to the prostock cathegory.

In "my" 4,5 ton Sport class it is not allowed to inject water.

We will see in future... maybe on another Tractor.

  • the name the tractor wath is?

  • turbo size in 2.6inches in and 3 inches out. 19mm exhaust housing.its a holset H2e slotted. our intake was 42psi and exhaust was 42. the exhaust temp was 1669. the bearings went to hell. any sugestions??

  • check out (deerfield pull one) my friend put it up. i have to put my video up still. we won 1st out of 12 pretty good other than we blew our charger in the second one. any advice on the turbo?

  • what kind of turbo do you have exactly: intake housing? exaust housing? mesurements?

Temperatures while pulling? Pressures while pulling?

  • we leave in 4 hours for the first run!! i will let you know how it goes. hopefully it dosent blow up!

  • egt is exhaust gas temperature. we gave it more fuel and more timing to help cool it down. we are set at 550cc fuel timed at 34 deg and 1580deg F. our tucbo is 40 psi exaust and 40 psi intake. not much but this is just holding brakes on the road. you say you are over 1800 deg F?

  • yap. you will see, it will go up more in front of the sledge.

That's very good that you have the same presure at intake and exaust manifold.

Before we had the cam done it went up to 2100 deg Fahrenheit. then the turbo bluw up. With 1800 it's ok. If the presure doesn't go over 60 psi on exaust side it should not be a problem at all.

I'm driving constantly with around 1800 deg Fahrenheit in front of the sledge.

Good Luck for your pull. I can't wait to hear how it went. All the best.

    Samswiss

  • we got her running today!! i will have a video 4 u 2 see. we need to get our egts down now we ran 1532deg f. a little hot! but it runs like a charm. wondering what you run for egts? we pull friday night i will tape it and let ytou know how me do.

  • Congrats. looking forward to ur vid.

1532 deg F is equal to 833 deg C. is that right? egts means exaust temperature?

We have changed our turbo and we run now with around 70psi inlet pressure after the turbo while pulling. the inlet temp at that place is 300 deg. C. (570 deg fahrenheit)

This temp is not a problem, but limit with that pressure. more than 330 could blow the turbo at 70 psi.

Exaust pressure is 3,2bar (46psi) Temperature is 1030 deg C. (1886 deg F) more than 1200 is dangerous.

  • The Turbo is now the same as we had first (The one who blew up with the exaust fire). with the new cam it's working great now. last pull we drove in 7th gear with 27 kmh wheel speed and 4.5tons weight. -> first place! ;-)

Injection time is around 26 degrees.

Pump is set at 660 ccm.

  • my friend and i are building a 4430 to run hot farm with, how much does your tractor weigh without weights and what all did you do to lighten it up

  • Hey JohnDeereA219

Ours is now empty about 3900kg (3,9ton)

What we took out/off: Pto Drive, hydraulic block, 3 point linkage, everything i don't need anymore.

We put lighter rims on (two 2mm thick cones)instaed of the castiron ones.

There is still a lot to take off: I think with a lighter front axle and a selfmade front part what hold's the axle you could come down easely another 400kg, maybe more.

A friend of mine brought it down to 3,2 ton.

  • figured out my pump timing we are at 31deg i dont know if our higher rpms matter.

  • It does matter. that's for sure. but may be not that much. We put it now at 26 deg.

Check out my new vid. We will try this weekend with a smaller turbo set up.

  • take it to bowling green OH.

  • My buddy pulls there.9300 super farm harry bledsoe ( red dog )

  • I would love to. but it's about have way around the world to that. ;-)

    Maybe later one day.... lol.

    Greets

  • YEA!!! i live near there and i have seen some SWEET pulls up there

  • We had to send my international fuel pump to france and they put a bigger head in the pump.1466, 600hp.not enough

  • My biggest concurrent at the moment is a IH 1066. it's going very nice.

But in our cathegory we are not alowed to put an intercooler on. so 600 hp will be difficult. even for a IH ;-)

We will see. whe befor top death piston point is your pump pumping the diesel?

We are at 22 degrees with 2700 rpm, but i think it's not enough. what do you think? Maybe 27?

  • I dont really know that may be to much.I just got mine put togather.Kolb Diesel told me it should be about 550-600hp.my first pull with it is next month.I used a 4430 to pull for about 3 years.

  • ok, let me know how it went. good luck.

  • yea.you to.i have had a 13mm pump,dt466 turbo,lines,and injectors.Let me know how the 1066 runs

  • hey did you get the transmission put back together? And what is the name of the 3rd song on this video?

    thansk

  • Hey rwickmannp11, Yap, the tranny is working alright. we had our first pull this year last weekend. all went ok. we got 2nd. As soon i ve got a bit more time, i'll put the vids online. We are flatout with planting spuds.

the third song is "run to paradise" from "choirboys".

    Greets samswiss

  • Thanks. Yea, I am looking forward to seeing the new videos! I just finished putting the new cam into my 4010, but now the pistins rubbed. so thats were I am at

  • my uncles tractor

  • i finnaly got my parts done its go time now!!

:) i will pry have some questions 4 you once we start to reassemble. i will let you know how it goes. hows yours running??

  • We prepared everything last weekend, and it runs ok. Let's see in front of the sled this weekend! Greez Danoo

  • Aww, man, i guess shit happens. I pull a super stock 4010

  • Nice, have you got pics or vids? Are these oldies built simelar to the 4430? Greets

  • Nice video! I enjoyed watching it

  • Thanks, i'm glad to hear that

  • nice video

  • We started him up. was running ok for 1 minute. then it stoped. Couldn't start him again. So we drained the oil and there were metallic pieces in the oilpan.

    Axial crankshaft bearings were fxxxed.

Reason: the oil was very cold and thick. oil wasen't there when clutch pistons (pto and driving) bigan with pushing. unfortuantly i didn't press the clutch, to release the oilpressure.

So the Tractor is in bits and pieces again. :-(

We should it get fixed for our first pull in two weeks.

  • good luck with the tractor!

  • Thanks a lot.

We changed the axial bearings, got the crankshaft fixed and started it today. everything was running good. We started with normal oil.

We think there was pressure on the crankshaft even without the cluthes pushing.

Next weekend we will warm him up a bit and put our 70 oil in it when the engine is still warm. Maybe we will mix it a bit with normal oil. We take a thicker oil mainly because of the camshaft and the stromger valve-springs.

I let you know how it worked ...

  • Hi there

Class is called 4.5ton Sport. 9900lbs, max 427cui(7L), max 2700rpm, diesel only, no intercooler, no waterinjection, max 1Turbo. What are your class specs/rules? In these 3000rpm classes over there, what kind of clutch du you drive? And do you have to put some clutch protection around? Thanks for the answers.

  • I forgot: max A pump, or simmis minimec, if not stock, no p pumps allowed

    Greez danoo

  • our class is 10500lbs 11500 and 12500. 3000 rpm, one turbo with size restrictions, diesel only, 466ci, but we can run water. we have a quad range tranny that we are hoping to run d3 and d4. the stock clutch and the pto clutch are both tied together by welding the hubs together. then in order to get fluid to the pto clutch a litte plumbing has to be done. 200 psi of clutch pressure helps as well. i have been told that this set up will hold 750 to 800 horsepower

  • we do have to run either a clutch blanket or a steel flywheel.

  • do you guys still run stock head gaskets or fire rings?

  • this 4430 has fire rings. on my tractor i don't have them yet.

  • what r u guys running to send fuel from your tank to the fuel pump? and how much pressure?

  • original mechanical piston pump, work in both directions, fitted on its original place at the injection pump, with two humps on the injection pump camshaft, like that you have 4 stroke per one pump turn. presure depends on the spring at the return of the pump. i think it is around 2 bar, it might be a bit more up to 3. make sure your fuel tube's are big enough. in my opinion this is much more important, we took them double. you can all see at 3:20, greez

  • i use two sureflow electric pumps to push 70psi to the pump. its wired so if one quits the other one will keep running. i was just wondering what u had.

  • What s your compressions rate? have you troubles to start him up when it is cold? do you use aether? Do you press the clutch for starting? ;-)

What kind of engine oil do you use? how much pressure?

We have a Sae 70 Special oil. very good lubrification but it's like honey when its cold. -> stuffed axial bearing

We will heat it up next time. once it was running it should be ok.

    What's your oppinion?

  • i dont know what the compression is yet my pistons are not done yet. it starts great when its mild out but any colder like freezing in the shed i use a open flame heater and a blanket to start it. i do push the clutch in to start it. no eather i used it once and locked it up!! we use strait john deere 10w40 plus 50 oil. when it cold my main concern is getting the oil pan hot to the touch for a half hour. maybe to much but i havent had any problems yet.

  • i am going to reasherch what i am going to use this year for oil. i will let you know wen i find out.

  • i am getting an 650ccm a pump built i hope it will b ok. i am trying to get my cam figured out. any advice would b great.

  • Our Camshaft was prepared by a dutch specialist. to be able to have both valves a little bit open while top death point between output and intake stroke, we were milling some Valve-room in the pistons.

We have just a synchro range gearbox. we are driving in 5th and 6th gear last year. this year we are hoping to drive always in 6th or sometimes 7th when its easy. i hope the clutch works fine this year. it was slipping sometimes last year. had to put in new plates.Tonight, we try to start him up.

  • i have my cam in getting done as of yesterday and i have new pistons comming with different ring set and they are blank. my machieneist is going to cut the bowl and valve reliefs.i was wondering what you run for rpms and fuel? what are your class rules? well good luck with the start up i have a long ways to go.

  • stock is what ever u can do and not get caught. the altered cless we are getting into is 466ci stock block. 3000rpm 2.6in in 3in out turbo. the one i a going to use is a holset h2e slotted. a pump only and some saftey restrictions. we are running quad range tranny with the clutches welded together. we do shift the two speed on the go. we ran c3 and c4 last year and we are hoping to run d3,d4 this year.

  • ? 466 or 404? 55 series head? i am putting one to gether as well in the states. how many ccs of fuel is your a pump pumping? sorry 4 all the questions i am just doing my home work. i put a 7.6 powertec in my 4430 and ran stock but now i am going to altered.

  • Hey pkl4450

It's a standard 404 block with the original liners. The head is originally from this 4430 too. It is flowed though. 55 series head would be better, there is more iron to cut out ;-), but it's hard to get them across here.

The max off the pump would be 750ccm, now it's set around 550ccm. But with the new camshaft we have to test from new on. i will keep you updated with vids.

What is the difference from stock to altered? What kind of restrictions do you have in this class?

  • nice very nice exellent done off you guys keep it up greetings from a john deere man from norway:) got to j.d`s my self

  • damn :D i would like to see how that thing goes in terrain :D would be extremly nice to see! HÄÄHÄÄ ! peace out!

  • Very nice! Great Work!

  • Thanks mate.
