@LEO72495 I know! watched it in my AP US History class back in May and I was just blown away by the powerful emotion and acting let alone the great idea for the story(or should I say adaption of a real miraculous event)..the classic idea of the underdog rising up, if done right, is always amazing to watch. Crowe's acting + fitting soundtrack + realistic representation of Great Depression + and inspiring theme = a great film!

Learning about the depression in my class right now and we watched this it is now one of my favorite movies.

Not only one of the best movies ever made... it's one of the best movies ever conceived of. And it features THE best musical score in the history of cinema. Throw in the always-golden Russell Crowe, the always-solid Ron Howard, the always-stellar Paul Giamatti, an awe-inspiring script of inspiration, and even a great performance by Renee Zellwegger... and you have this timeless, fully-inspiring masterpiece. The only word I can come up with for Cinderella Man is "unbelievable."

the one problem i had with this movie was how they demonized Max Baer. The truth was that when Max Baer killed his first opponent, he was broken. For days he wouldn't sleep, or eat. He was haunted by what he had done. Eventually he fought again, but he wasn't as aggresive as he was before.....he wasn't like the way he was potrayed in the movie either

@THEdokSHIZZY I totally second that and Max Baer's family had a problem with the way he was portrayed in the movie, he appears to be an arrogant, flippant ogre but actually in real life he was a great guy and you're right he felt horribly about having killed someone in the ring he had nightmares about it and it made him want to quit boxing...all I can say is that the movie is about Braddock and so they sort of had to make Max Baer some sort of bad guy in order to make the victory more sweet..

This is the greatest movie I have ever seen. It is a true story of incredible hope and faith about how much a man loves his family and will sacrifice everything to provide for them. This is a positive and inspirational movie that was not nominated for best picture. Look at the acadamy award nominations for 2005 and draw your own opinions. I will never watch the acadamy awards. Hollywood should be ashamed.
