So who's the genius that continues to make the decision to put quick-time events into Tomb Raider games? This is a game about exploration and discovery, not Dragons Lair.

Also, "survival instinct"? Let's just make puzzles all sparkly for you so you don't have to use your brain. Seriously? It may be optional, but it's a very good chance that the game is designed around it.

On a positive note, they finally "got" that organic claustrophobic feel to the environments. Kudos for that.

Voice acting is bad--way too wimpy. "Oooo let go of me!" "Ahhhh, oohhhh, eeeee!" She sounds too much like she needs rescuing. Lara's been there before, and she's gotten oput of scrapes like this before, by being strongly competitive, tough and fierce. The voice acting needs to reflect this.

Well, the voice sound effects sound very good quality and merge together nicely which is clever. But they're NOT realistic, they're cinematic. Imagine a girl in that situation. She would either be afraid, and make lots of noises like that and not really do anything, or go into survival, let's just get out of here mode. When someone does that the emotion is usually determination and focus, not fear. Then she would just make the odd grunt. So the original Tomb Raider is more realistic voice-wise!

Concluding: the Crofts still rich (but Lara having left to live an average life, good idea), Winston's existence, her parents alive (to erase TR8 ending), PAIR of pistols, new body, serious personality, many "that was close" scenes but no "I'm unbreakable" (exaggerated) during scenes, learning to shoot during the game, healthy but not super movements, knowing many but not all languages, emphasis on survival, huge exploration, hard puzzles and a supernatural mystery will make the game perfect.

She studies many languages since she was a child, okay, but in the classic series there was nothing she couldn't translate, a bit exaggerated.

Lara's IMperfection will bring success back. I hope in this and all next games they keep her serious (doesn't mean humourless). In this first adventure of her life, it's normal not knowing how to shoot well and not moving like an olympic athlete, she wasn't prepared. She'll probably be changed in the end of this game, but even at the sequels she still ought to move more like a normal heatlhy woman than like a gold medal olympic athlete and shoot well but not perfetcly. Thus it keeps realistic.

I know Square and Crystal read our comments here, then I nearly beg them to keep the Crofts a rich family in Lara's new biography, Winston's existence and the PAIR of pistols (as last weapon, possibly). I love to know Lara's parents are alive in her new biography, that erases the awful end of TR8. I've heard about Lara deciding to live an average and independent life by herself, if that's true I love it!

Comparing Tomb Raider to Uncharted is almost inevitable due to some players. But there are only 4 game characters known even by most old people who never played video games: Pac-Man, Mario, Sonic AND... Lara Croft. Besides fame, the 4 first TRs were very successful. Uncharted is now, but it had only 3 editions, and comparing its quality to the quality of the classic TRs is difficult due to the time they were made. I didn't buy a PS3 for Uncharted, but for Heavy Rain. But this is another subject.
