  • She is also a classy lady

  • This needs a LOVE button!!

Loretta Lynn is a national treasure! I adore, admire & respect this lady more than I could ever put into words. Loretta will always be the First Lady of real country music!

  • As a child of the 70's, with a passion for disco, I always disdained country music. That being said, I adore Loretta Lynn, she taught me to appreciate a well-placed twang. This song is plaintive and mournful in a sassy, fun way, and even with its country/western sound, it still transcends time and place. It's a timeless gem, as all good music should be. Go, Loretty!

  • I JUST LOVE HER I GREW UP ON THIS MUSIC

  • So good to hear drunk. WOW!

  • Great steel and great minor harmonies. It don't get no better than this!

  • I grew up on Loretta and Patsy <3 love this song

  • GOOD MUSIC AND BEATIFUL WOMAN AND VOICE...

    YNAD

  • Loretta is the best! I have been intrigued with her since I can remember.

  • any body know who the steel player was on this cut?

  • I want to thank you for posting this !

  • That picture at 1:15 is the first one her husband "Doo" took of her in their house with the bed sheet behind her.

  • Loretta Lynn is my favourite singer and sometimes I walk around and sing this song, but I sing "Honky Tonk boy" ^^ ;)

  • Can't hear this song without thinking of my favorite Aunt, Aunt Wilma Higgins.

  • This is COUNTRY music. Nothin' today is even comparable.

  • My late mother use to listen ti this song ,,,God rest her soul R.I.P MOM

  • Best song ever by Loretta Lynn XD

  • HONKY!!!!!! I AGREE, THIS C&H, IS TERRIBLE.

  • Too bad nobody makes music like this anymore. Most of today's so called country music has no soul or feeling. Most of what we get today is warmed over crap. This is real country music.

  • I love the feel of this music.....it's country with a bit of western flavor.

  • Way better then that bitch taylor

  • crap ! skip the horrid commercial and just put on Loretta Lynn -

  • What a song, classic song from a classy Country singer.

  • my fav song of hers. i still watch coal miner's daughter once a year atleast.

  • 1:00 is a famous picture in my hometown of Lynden, WA

  • @cityducky thats pretty cool i'm sitting here in Lynden right now

  • Love it Walley thats the best song ever

  • That photo of Loretta doing her canning is priceless! And I loved the last portrait with her retainer on. She must have been proud to afford to be able to straighten her teeth!

  • @DCFunBud ...I can't really tell if that's a retainer or not...did you read that somewhere? I've never heard her mention a retainer, but I know she did have some work done on her teeth because they were hurtin' her real bad, and I can tell just by lookin' at her smile that it's different than it was when she was younger. Her smile (to me) was always her best feature. (Though she's always been beautiful in so many ways!:)

  • @nicoleakalilqueenie I really have no idea. I'm just shooting from the hip.

  • You'd better believe this is Loretta Lynn. Here first record on the Zero label from 1960, with "Whispering Seas" on the B-side. Been loving this recording ever since I was kid.

  • This song is so good

  • The Queen of Country Music sure can sound better than Lady 'Gag' 'Gag'...what a true lady Loretta was ...and is!

  • To everyone that have commented this isn't 'Loretty'...have you ever listened to her???/ This is the real deal...no one..and i mean NO ONE can sing like Loretta....so Ilovemygiant and MrSembrano23..do your homework before posting...

  • I've loved Loretta Lynn from Honky Tonk Girl and every song that came after. Wish she still recorded....she is the best!

  • @MrSembrano23 lololololo this cam from the Loretta Lynn Box Set so it is and im a bigggg fan i do know

  • @MrSembrano23 This IS very much Miss Loretta Lynn. Sorry to tell ya. This was the first song she ever wrote and recorded. If you don't know what you're talking about, chances are you shouldn't say anything at all. But on a lighter note, I'm going to see Miss Loretta tonight in concert! :) God bless all ya'll!

  • @MrSembrano23 ...This IS Loretta Lynn. It was her first song. I'm a HUGE fan, and I KNOW for a FACT that it IS her. You should do your homework before you go spoutin' off about stuff you don't know.

  • yes I knew this was obviosly Loretta Lynn almost as soon as I heard it she's just really young here so her voice does sound younger but not different of Loretta Lynn at all. It sounds just like her to me and I'm 32 but then again she's what my Daddy raised me up on. Really enjoyed the privallage of being able to listen to what i would bet is probably one of her very first recordings if it is not in fact her first one wouldn't surprise me a bit. Lovin Loretta!!!

  • so turn that jukebox way up high

  • taylor is more pop than anything. she may have a few songs that are country but thats about it

  • this is classic country she the one and only LORETTA LYNN

  • I'm so mad that this song is not on my Loretta Lynn's greatest hits cd! I mean she wrote it herself and it's always been one of my favorites.

  • Simply fantastic.

  • your right loretta has a beautiful voice i have been a fan sence i was 14

  • Words cannot express the beauty of this song!!

  • HELLO everyone just thought i would put a word in better watch or MR.RICKY CURRY'S wild hair up an across his fanny about miss loretta i made a statement of what i hear an he wrote to me an about cust me out i don't know him don't want too

  • Wally.. I have this strange feeling that Loretta won't be with us much longer (I've had this feeling about people before, like Liz Taylor and Patrick Swayze, and I HAVE NO IDEA WHY lol). I hope I'm wrong :( But then again she probably wants to go home and be with her Doolittle. Anyway, I hope I can see her in concert. I was supposed to go see Dolly and Porter, but didn't end up going to Nashville, and a week later he died. Not that I'm a big fan of him, but.. the legends are dying off :(

  • this deffinitly is Loretta Lynn its just she recorded this at a very young age of 28.

  • Her voice is haunting, it pierces my soul. I hear everything shes ever felt in every note.

  • I think I like Sissy's version better.... lol

  • LOVE HER SOOOOO MUCH!!!!!!

  • its a Early Loretta Song she was young once you know.

singers when they grow older there voice changes dolly's voice as well as loretta's has changed over the last couple of decades they still sound great.

well great song. hope you are all doing well.

  • i have an ant that looks just like loretta lynn i guess its the India in her blood and she has the long coal black hair

  • @Ilovemygiant1 this is so loretta lynn you know the qween when you hear her :)

  • @panthers0910001 If this is Loretta She sounds nothing like she normally does. Unless they did something wrong in the recording processes. It at times sounds like shes a chipmunk. I cant recall her ever sounding this badly.

  • @Ilovemygiant1 This IS Loretta--but it's an early recording--I think it was her first hit song--the sound quality was NOT great but it's a privilege just to hear it. Love Loretta!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • YES IT IS

  • @Ilovemygiant1 Most definitely is the young Loretta

  • @fordtruxdad Ok ty. I can buy that its a very young loretta.

  • @Ilovemygiant1 This actually is... i have her CD with this song on it. Sounds different, doesn't she? This must have been in her younger days...

  • @Ilovemygiant1 - you must be real stupid! I know this voice and it is "The Queen of Country Music and Coal Miner Daugther Mrs.Loretta Lynn!!!

  • @ktown011 Im sorry, did I at some point resort to calling people names and personal attacks. I was certain that I had not and also that I had replied to the person who said that it was a Loretta at a very young age and I agreed. Please make sure that you read EVERYTHING before you lower yourself to call people names. Stupid is wasting your time to make personal attacks on youttube over a song. Have you no life and nothing better to do? Heres my wish that you eventually do find a life.

  • @Ilovemygiant1 yes it is she was 18 when she recorded this

  • @Ilovemygiant1....This is TOO Loretta Lynn!! As any TRUE Loretta Lynn fan would know. (Which you obviously are NOT!)

  • @MI6A4PRO Since you obviously speak Before knowing the facts. Let me correct you. No, I did not think it was loretta but that was quite awhile ago as one kind gentleman pointed out very nicely to me, it is a very early recording and they recorded differently and so she does not sound as I am used to her sounding when shes somewhat older. I agreed with him and the others who also said so. I admitted I was wrong and I thought life as I knew it had resumed. U dont know me, so dont ever assume!!!

  • anyone been to loretta lynn's ranch? How do you get there from Ohio? I am in Columbus Ohio and plan a visit there this summer. I hear it's very nice and the house is haunted. she has museums, a motorcycle event, restaurant and replica of her childhood home.

  • @rbsvy91368 I have never been but I would LOVE to go. And yes, it is haunted. I remember seeing a video long ago of her talking about it. The only thing I can tell you is to Google it, how to get there (I live in Wisconsin so I don't know)

  • i love her she is a legend

  • beautiful at 1:28

  • One of the best videos I've seen on youtube, and I've seen a lot of 'em...

  • this isnt loretta lyn smart ones..

  • @johnsgirl141 yes it is smart one

  • shes beautiful at 0:49

  • @itsmejohnathan...Wasn't she?! That's my very favorite photo of Loretta. I've always thought she was absolutely stunning. When other girls wanted to look like Barbie, I wanted to look like Loretta. (Heck, I still do!) Loretta is what beauty really is! :)

  • As the years went by, Loretta Lynn just got better.

  • Loretta Lynn truly is America's original super talented Queen of Country Music, her legacy of great down to earth country music is legendary and timeless!

  • This the original cut with her brother jay Webb on Guitar and Speedy West on Steel. Classic HonkeyTonk

  • "So turn that jukebox way up high"

  • Come on Loretta, lets go Honky tonkin!

  • I love her so much & this song!

  • At :42 seconds, is my favorite photo of Loretta. I think she's the most beautiful woman I've ever seen. It's a shame her grandaddy told her she was ugly & she grew up believing it, coz that is one pretty woman, both inside and out!

  • So Classic!

  • Take some notes,Taylor Swift.

  • @MegaDave001

    Shoot ! Okayyy ????

  • @MegaDave001 damn right

  • @MegaDave001 Exactly! Now this is country : )

  • @MegaDave001 Hey at least Taylor writes her own stuff.. She's not as horrible as people say she is. Give the kid a break!!

  • @MegaDave001 I love Taylor's music, but it's not country. Not by a long shot. I don't understand why Nashville considers her a country singer.

  • @Jo22Twilight That is true for most of the singers actually, male or female. My belief is that the record execs, in their desire to make money (i.e. reach more ppl) pushed more pop sounding songs, or pop songs with a hint of country, which is what we have today mostly, though there are some who are more country sounding lately. Even then, what you get is a cookie cutter effect; one sounds just like the other, no distinctive sound.

  • This was her first song...And 50 years later, she STILL sounds as great as she did here :)
