  • I was trying to do yarn braids last night and my hair was sticking out too..its currently straight from me flat ironing. I'm going to go wash it and see if that makes a diff..if not ill be doing some type of twisted protective style haha

  • I have yarn braids and my natural hair is sticking out badly. Do you have any suggestions to get my hair to lay down?

  • Ive done practice runs with yarn braids before I do my whole head trying to get them as neat as yours. Ive braided my hair with synthetic hair only a few times with neat results, but the yarn, urrggg!!! Its not neat/straight. Your yarn braids are the neatest Ive seen so far. Great job!!

  • @ AdamsRibb84 I was using care free curl moisturizing spray a mixture of oils and water in a spray bottle I didn't like the way my braids smelled using the carefree curl moisturizer it was kind of funky smelling I did wash them with no problems I am planning on doing another set doing a different technique , if the yarn braids don't work I'm going back to the kanekalon hair I think it holds moisture better than the yarn braids thats what my hair tells me anyways Thanks for posting your vids

  • @mskoollaid Funky smelling LOL! I understand...I used to use that as well.

  • thankfully they grow back but it really takes a lot of time.

  • i don't think i will ever get my hair braided again at the african braiding shop. my hair at my temples always come out.

  • Oh how I wish I could do my own hair. I inspire to be like u guys. Also Black onyx has some video up for yarn braids, she even give u ideas on how to style them, cute and classy

  • @Krist3nlaree Oh sweetie I belive you can. You just have to practice practice practice. I started braiding during undergrad and over the years, I've been able to perfect it. Now I have my own small business in hair braiding. If it is something you inspire to do, go for it. Start on yourself then on a family member then work your way up. Yes, I have seen the styles by Black onyx. They are fierce. She is very gifted. I have also seen some really cute styles of yarn braids by MsVcharles

  • thank you again for this video...i have another question...do you know how to flat twist your hair? if so can you do a tutorial or do u know how to twist the hair in the front and it lays flat like a "twist" but its not? (hopefully that made sense)

  • @accountmaster30001 Sure...did you want the tutorial on flat twists using your real hair or the braids? Since my braids are in, it may be a while until I can do the flat twists on my real hair

  • @AdamsRib84 well since you do have your braids in you can do it on that....thanx alot...i really appreciate it

  • How do you keep the yarn braids moisturized? I tried the yarn braids and the only problem that I had while wearing wearing the yarn braids was trying to keep it moisturized it seems like the yarn braids absord all the products i was using and it didn't moisturize my real hair when i took my braids out my hair felt very dry with no moisture in it .

  • @mskoollaid Really? Are you actaully oiling/moisturizing the roots of your hair or the braids? Also, what kind of moisturizer are you using? You may want to consider a thick oil or leave-in such as castor oil. Also, try cowashing your braids every 2 weeks. When I post my results vid, I will talk about the maintenance as well. Hope this helped love=)

  • Great video! Have a Happy New Year!!!

  • @AfrikanHairGod Thx love! Happy New Year to you too=)

  • @AfrikanHairGod Thx love! Happy New Year to you too=)

  • Are u ever concerned about stress on your edges with braids?

  • @concedenothing Well I try not to braid too tightly around my edges and I also keep them moisturized. The one thing I have noticed that causes alot of tension to the edges is when ladies manipulate and style braids too often. I usually just wear my hair down so there is no pulling of my edges. I do have some thin spots around my edges but that is when I had the africans doing my hair. They really did some damage but most of it grew back

  • @AdamsRib84 I still have a thin spot from when I was getting my hair braided by African braiders. I would really like to get braids and wear them for a couple of months just to give my hair a break but I am so concerned about my edges. I'll have to find a braider who understands how to protect my edges. I'm extra cautious about 2 things: 1) heat damage and 2) braids impact on my hairline.

  • thank you for the video!!!

  • @Sheeda1006 No problem! It was my pleasure=) Thx for watching!
