@ChameleonsUKfan2012 Thanks again for the reply didn't think you were being preachy at all....glad your still with your wife after 23 I didn't it make it quite that far with mine....lol....the 80's were the best part of my life hands down....thanks again for the input and all the best to ya
@ChameleonsUKfan2012 I think I was on the drink heavy that night my friend but none the less a great band thanks for the comment you were spot on...hahaha
I'm sort of shocked and appalled to have never heard of this band before. A Pandora-like Internet site suggested this song based on my musical tastes. Boy did that site hit it right! Y'all are fanTAStic!!
I love this song. I love second skin and Home is where the heart is (I really love Mark's updated acoustic version but might be Mark and Vox vs the original band). I love The Sun and the Moon's I love you, you bastard, Peace in our time and probably my favorite Pictures of England. I like The Suns of God as well The other members are doing great solo as well
The vid is mostly footage of our Bravo Test (15 Megaton) on Marshall Islands. It apparently lit up most of the Pacific night sky . . . even seen from Hawaii !!!!
Oh, of course, have loved the Chameleons since a baby. While vacationing in UK, long ago, turned on a lad to their music by taking a train to see 'em in concert. That was preety cool. Still listen to them, a lot, and I'm 60 years young.
love this band. this is my favourite song. my mate gary introduced me to them round about 1988. was lucky enough to see them when they reformed at the manchester academy and again at the ritz on dec 17 2000. wish they would make up and reform again. p.s this song is from script of the bridge not strange times as someone states below. come on lads reform. please.
@hagge9 I love the Chameleons as much as just about everybody posting here... but come on. U2 has earned their place in the music industry. You're allowed to like both.
I love The Chameleons, ever since a friend introduced them to me in the early 80's. I still have the Album this came on, Strange Times. Great album. Every song went well with the song before and after. Keep up the great work men.
So tuneful, so powerful. Irrationality has become such a common enemy. People who would murder us all if we fail to swear allegiance to Allah, etc. I look around only to find love of the cult over the individual. Blind obedience to whoever shouts the loudest, or whatever looks the most shiny and colorful. Belief systems as substantial as a flimsy slogan which is what really lies at their core. I want to destroy irrationality, but I don't know how.
Almost forgot this one, I dont know why caus its one of the best. I had everything on vynle and only had strange times on CD which got played constantly in the car, got to upgrade my CD collection and start listening to all again.
imo, this is quite possibly the most powerful, important and defining track by any of the Northern bands of the time or for that matter, anywhere or anytime else...(reverence)

This song is a prime example of how much The Chameleons must have had on underrated Scottish group Lowlife, who produced some outstanding stuff. This is just an amazing tune.....
@Rich27014 Rich, thank you so much for helping me discover Lowlife! What a truly great fucking band that I had never even heard of. Why in earth didn't they become a lot bigger? Cheers from California, Perry
@Nigelxman Perry. Glad you loved Lowlife, the most underrated band ever, in my humble opinion. I discovered this morning that their singer Craig Lorentson tragically passed awy in June. I've spent the morning trawling through lots of their stuff and gravitated to this because it is such an amazing tune and, as I said last time, reminds me of Lowlife aswell.....
That´s right! such a great band for such underrating! Actually the are bastantly terrific. The "strange times" album is very good. I remember buying the special edition album at the most undergone place in Monterrey, MX. Their latest compilation is good as well.
I bought "Script of the Bridge" and "Strange Times" when they were first released. To say I was completely floored would be an understatement. It was literally life changing. This is the first time I've heard this in years. I have no idea what's so ever why I lost touch with the Chameleons. Won't happen again though.
Im pretty embarrassed to admit that, even though Im 42, and have been well aware of who the Chameleons are for many years -Ive never heard this song till now. Boy, its a stonker!!!!
@TheChameleons73 You sir and your band is an amazing discovery for me..I am an American and have for the most part always loathed American rock..The Who arethe band that fedd me during the sixties and seventies...I ahve always turned my ear towards England to hear my sounds and I absolutely love your music..It truly is above te cut line even by my English standards...thank you
I said this over a year ago when I first came across this song, and I will say it again today...if I had to pick one song among the millions produced since the beginning of time to represent what is home to me, what I stand for and the most kick-ass song I have ever heard, it would be this (and perhaps A Million Miles Away by The Plimsouls)...there must be something wrong boys!!!!
I've always been amazed how this band could make me bang my head, think and detonate a kiloton of emotions all at the same time. Thank you for the wonderful catalog of fantastic music.
I was excited to get this song played on a San Diego radio station where you email in and they weekly play 'black sheep' songs. Seriously this is an amazing tune.
i'm not in the military. i'm not a brit. i'm not a fan of any govt. i haven't oppressed anyone. so really i could have written something like this. of course no one complains when the ainu are exterminated in japan. nor the tocharians.
and no one complains when europeans are only 8% of the worlds population and are being wiped out from globalist EU, zionist, NWO, immigration policies.
please wake up from your slumber byrthfood. civilization is a struggle.
Ahh, the weird world of YT. Zionist, Jew?! Not at all, furthermore people say I look like a saxon king or a viking.
Anyway, I asummed you were away getting sorted out - All this hate can't be good for you, and I stronly advise dropping those good/angry multiple handles (eg; this rant should be under you neONsurfer(sp) hate handle, if I follow your 'logic') surely you catch yourself thinking the same. Seriously mate, stop the conspiracies however convincing they are, until you get some balance.
Perhaps they were too good to be appreciated by the masses. And they also rejected the possibility of their music being "manufactured" and "crippled" by a mainstream label. Life's hard!
