koemar70, The wheels are just skate wheels and I don't think the hardness has much to do with how they perform. I bought them in bulk as close outs and whatever I got was what I used. They can be mounted on the lathe and turned down to different size and shape if desired, but good bearings are the key. Good luck with your project.

Nice Video!! I make all my lathe rests, jigs and even made a bowl turning lathe myself, its great knowing how to weld! One thing I find helpful is when welding nuts on is to throw some never seize on, especially with 3/8 nuts or smaller. look like you had no troubles at all through, just sucks when you have to cut them off and put on a new one from it arcing across the threads.
Very nice - only thing I would do differently is use solid bar stock for the arms that hold the wheels, eventually the hollow square tube will crush from the hold bolts. Saves a step on welding the tabs in the end for the wheels, just drill through the end of the bar stock. Like StuinTokyo, I would like to know if you sourced the flange ring or made it up yourself.
