Though I think it's more traditional then useful technique. I hardly beleive that ancient horse archers (for example) leaned forward to draw their powerful bows, and I know for sure that modern archers stays straight, because it's comfortable and you don't need any exotic stand to draw bow, regardless it's draw weight. It's interesting to follow ancient traditions, but best technique is techniqu of winners.

It's a technique of drawing the longbow.
I do this as well now and find I get a better result.
I think it's where we get the saying 'put your back into it' from
