  • Stop using lead bullets, idiot hunters.

  • nice bird.

  • sad for this birds.. hope they wont get endangered...

  • I don't know why so many of my fellow hunters in our area are so slow to move onto safer non toxic alternatives for bullets.

My wife and I now only use non tox lead free types of ammo for our hunting. It's worth it to our family's health and the health of the wildlife that may be effected.

  • bald eagles are part of the ecosystem, humans are notoriously insensitive to their environment --when will you learn deer hunters? stop deer hunting and stop the sale of lead bullets on the market ..better yet just leave this planet those who never learn to respect the ecological balance of nature !

  • So Americans are killing off their own national bird of pride, something about that just seems wrong. As you can tell the national bird is down for the count, and the vet hospitals won't help much. Mexico's bird see's it's weakness, it'll now just swoop in and gut it like it guts a cactus.

  • is it that fucking hard to use steel shot? you HAVWE to use lead??? really???REALLY????

  • Well, I don't know about it's effectiveness, and I know it's not cheap, but steel shot does seem like a credible alternative to lead, and it's a lot healthier for the environment. I'd use it on the sporadic times I go sport shooting over the year.

  • This guy expects me to believe that lead cored bullets shot at deer poisoned this eagle? Did the eagle find a bullet or fragment of a bullet and eat it? I don't think so. This vid has the same credibility as global warming. All frauds to control free people enjoying their choseb past times. Tree huggers sure fall for this crap, hook line and sinker. Oops better not use a lead sinker. Might make a hippie sick. Give me a break already.

  • What about the lead from fishing weights and lures? Is that not mentioned because it's harder to kill someone with a fishing pole?

  • Its real cruel that the Eagles have to suffer, it breaks my heart.

I reaily hope they find a solution soon & end the suffering for these poor creatures. GOPHER NATION!!!!!!!!!!

  • How can they possibly determine that the lead affecting the birds is the same lead found in ammunition?

Did they find a bird with lead in its stomach?

  • "lead guitar xD"

  • OMG thats like the first time I've ever seen a real live eagle.

    I thought they were extinct

  • We have some small shooting grounds here. Instead of removing all the lead from the ground, the simply installed a fence and warning signs.

The whole ground behind the targets is filled with lead. If a bird eats a worm from there, it certainly gets a poisoning.

  • he mentioned it happens in other scavenger birds so i'm guessing they get led poisoning from eating the dead animals that hunters didn't quite kill fast enough, or just left out there

  • unfortunately for these birds, lead just has better terminal ballistic qualities than alternative shot.

  • Yea well Uranium has a better Ballistics than Lead , Does that mean it's ok to use in War or Hunting? I think you might want to ask that question to some of the Iraqi Woman and Children who suffer daily from Uranium "Poisoning". I bet if lead was in the Water your children drank you would do something about it.

  • And I bet that if you had to hunt to supplement what food you could afford to feed those children you'd want something with a high rate of success to do it with. I'm sorry for the birds, really i am, and i hate to see any life wasted. However, when it comes down to it, my family comes before a bird... Where i am from, families actually deal with that stuff... don't know what neck of the woods you're from, but consider: most people probably have different extenuating circumstances than you.

  • Is the lead poisoning caused by bullets hitting the eagles, bullets hitting animals which are eaten by the eagles, or lead contamination of water sources? Is there anymore information regarding this research?

  • im not sure but think its lead poisining through a form of contamination like u said water or them eating it /the sad thing is that there are rounds/amunition that arnt made of lead - they offer steel or other shot gun rounds and u can get coper or other types for rifiles so they cant say well what else are we going to use - it may be more expensive but look at the damage it can do to other animals - im not against hunting - but if it affects other wildlife in a negative way it should be changed

  • steel&copper bullets are inferior when it comes to the physics behind ballistics. This video is very misleading.. Tests have been done. A deer is shot from a 100 yards, then the edible portions are checked for dangerous levels of lead. They never find anything, as the bullet travels into the center of the animals mass, and stops. You don't eat the guts, so your not getting any lead. Lead bullets in the wilderness are produce a negligible impact. Look at pollution & deforestation instead.

  • Just for your hearing problem, they guy says that the lead has the same signature as the one used in ammo. It's official, it come from ammo, no misleading going on, the lead comes from a gun. Don't shoot your gun to close to your ear, you might not hear things afteward.

  • There's phenomenal amounts of Lead within a few steps of you right now. Certain paints are large culprits. Trucks with a bedliner, most have lead in it. Lead is everywhere. Maybe we should remove it from the millions of products that people use everyday? Let's talk about ground leeching from city pollution. No, Im sure its from the rare bullet or shotgun pellet that actually remains out in the wild. Not to mention 'signature' is not definitive. Lead, is Lead. Chem 101.

  • umm...youve never been at a shooting ground have you :D.....try tasting the dirt or a worm or somthing...lead lead lead...

  • Wow lead is lead, great speach! You must be a genious snapperhead. If only lead were always pure... Guess what, you can know the origin of lead by the impurities it contains. Typical impurities found in particular products can give you a damn good idea where the lead came from. That would be chem 201 to you I guess.

  • The lead comes from Jesus.
