  • Kraftwerk deserves a massive thank you from the techno community. Stellar song.

  • later electro version is better

  • A great song from Kraftwerk. I have this album and CD.

  • I love this song for so many reasons, one of them being the minimalist electronic drumming.

  • what they produced then influenced the music today

  • I don't like 3:35.

  • dope

  • I wonder if OMD's track 'Electricity' was influenced by this? I think the little synth motif we hear at 0:30 -0:34 and 0:38 -0:41 and throughout is very like the synth track of that song. The concepts are similar too, relating to energy and forces etc.

  • Das war meine erste Single die ich mir gekauft habe. Auch schon "einige" Jahre her. Aber immer noch geil !!!

  • greece likes this......................

  • Como padres de la musica electronica creo que son insuperables.En mi vida hiceron mella. muyyyyyyyy buenos.Ismael66

  • I really like the '91 remixes... but the original ones create a completley different atmosphere, especially radioactivity.

  • when I was 14 ,,this was so cool ,,, since everyone was stoned on acid ha ha

  • Any Chernobyl survivors here?

  • @jostube06

you retard, its not funny to joke about this!!!

great track, i'm still having the lp, but the video is kind of scary...

  • /watch?v=OFy3l62tVeM vocoder!

  • Great piece of music. This song is from 1975 - Kraftwerk were utterly groundbreaking and like nothing else back in the 1970s. They literally invented electro-pop. Their output in the 1970s was completely revolutionary.

  • This song makes me want to go to Pripyat (Chernobyl)...

  • ONKALO IS UPON US

  • what's the latest on fukushima

  • @tinyvox the radiation is worse than ever. you can thank the men who decided to builld it on a fault line in their quest of evil

  • @Christianpreaching You seem like a fine upstanding gentleman. I'm of course lying. You're just another christhard idiot that gives Christians a bad name.

  • @kloppeder100 Ok, I confess. Iman idiot. Building nuclear plants on fault lines is a good thing. Nothing bad ever came of it in Japan. Please teach me more so I can be smart like you.

  • @Christianpreaching The plant in Japan wasn't on a fault line, idiot. When the tsunami came in the floodwalls were five feet too short and it flooded out the main cooling pumps and the back-up generators. The earthquake was out at sea which caused the waves to crash up and over the flood walls.

  • @kloppeder100 Its called the Hatakawa fault line. Look it up

  • @Christianpreaching Regardless, it was not the earthquake itself that caused the failure of the cooling systems.

  • @kloppeder100 more people died for the cause of christianity than any war,to be christian these days is nothing to be proud, its all about money ,ever seen a priest that doesnt drive a brand car i havnt ,its a big cult and your in it

  • @TheGladmankilla Well. Our local preacher just drives a rusty old pickup. Besides. I can't really take your argument seriously when you're that fast to call something a cult. I respect your opinion, but you'd get a lot more respect if you just spoke calmly instead of thinking you know everything.

  • A song that makes us travel in time!

  • RIP Fukushima

  • Kraftwerk music would go perfectly with the S.T.A.L.K.E.R. series.

  • Ralf has the prettiest male voice I've ever heard. It's so boyish, yet it's smooth and mellow. Oh and the accent makes it even better.

  • His voice is so mellow...you'll have to agree with me that Ralf just has a way of making such a tremendous topic seem like a love song xD

  • kind of pretty updated to our present cases.

  • good vibration, sole mio, cinderella, meine liebe mr. Einstein on the beach..

  • Fukusima:(

  • such less but so much more. It arrives my tummy

  • Topical, huh?

  • Ralf Hütter was quite attractive back then.

  • one word : magic !

  • This is a beautiful, haunting song, partly because of the sparse, vulnerable vocals.

  • CLASS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • los padres de la musica eletronica!!!!

  • Original, creative, unique, pioneering, inspiring, 4ever and massively groundbreaking..

What on earth do kids nowadays have?...Feel sorry for them...

  • They invented electronic musik!

  • DAS IS AWESOME!!!!!!!

  • Original ist immer geil

  • The original version and the best. Loved this lot in the 70s but sold all the albums when skint. Got my favourite tracks on an old cassette somewhere - must dig it out and re-create it!

  • geil geil geil

  • Two by two, hands of blue...

Wasn't it great when they actually played music?

  • @Jefferdaughter Nagyon gonosz,beteg vagy!

  • @Jefferdaughter Illetve primitív! És nem kicsit! Idióta!

  • géant

  • 0:50 they already has a kaoss pad back then ?

  • @vettemuziekjes they built that from scratch. Possibly the first of its kind.

  • @Fogglestein :D, i knew it wasn't a kaoss pad hahaha.

interesting device though, it should be in a museum !

    cheers .

  • Radioaktiviät übber alles, sehr gut!

    bloody great !

  • this is the original and the best of all the versions.

Kraftwerk is the grandfather to all the electro music.

  • .-. .- -.. .. --- .- -.-. - .. ...- .. - -..--

  • MAGIQUE!!!!

  • I don't know about godfather that's pushing it

  • saw it live in a much later setting- great

  • sexy and intense

  • the eletronic music never die, the good music dont stop...

  • ☢RADIOACTIVITY☢

  • The Godfather of all elektro musik... love it so much... thx for your courage in this time to create so great musik... 5*****

  • das beste von kw ....es gaebe keinen scooter oder anderen " technostar"

  • sounds like the soundtrack to some great 80s horror movie. I like it.

  • Yes, for one about the radioactive wastelands of a post nuclear holocaust dystopia.

In fact this song wasn't originally only about radioactivity from fallout, but rather the amount of radioplay a song got on radio, that's what Kraftwerk themselves claim..

  • @McLarenMercedes

I didn't think the original had anything to do with fallout at all?

  • True. It's a common misconception. The 1991 version did though.

  • @McLarenMercedes

considering that the original song contains the lyric "discovered by madame curie" it's pretty unlikely that the song isn't about radioactive material. The album Radio-Activity (Radio-Activitat) is a concept album that plays on the two ideas or radio airplay and radioactive material.

  • Love it! But that´s not the Geiger counter ticking, it seams to be a certain kind of Morse´s alphatbeth.

  • aqui radio intercontinental madrid, desde youtube...la honorable sociedad

  • This is a great example of how electronic music should sound!

  • c----f---f---c---f---c---f----a----g---f

this is what I got for the first part of the piano bit. But I don't think I've got the second part right. I'm not a piano player so if there's anyone who is, can you figure out the other part?

    a----c---c---a---c---a---c----e----d---c

that's my guess for the second part.

  • the first one is E-A-A-E-A-E-A-C-B-A

(and when it gets lower) C-F-F-C-F-C-F-A-G-F

    and at it's highest: G-C-C-G-C-G-C-E-D-C

    hope that helps

  • Thanks so much.

  • I'm into noise presently, and I want to cover this song for conclusion
