No need to go to a museum to see fossil history. There's the real thing right there. Deep divers but vulnerable to orcas so they are silent in the shallower parts of their ocean explorations. Stealth mode. 900 metres descent is nothing to them.
@Guilhaz1 We were on passage from Sines to Lanzarote and were about 150nm ssw of Cape St Vincent but will have to check the log for the exact position

No, I assure you that M. Densirostris and M. Layardii are different species.
It almost looks like they've got just long teeth, however it's really just the hump of the beak.
