  • His James Brown shuffle is driving me nuts...STOP IMITATING THE GODFATHER!!!!!

  • This is a Lowman Pauling song (5 Royales). Ray Charles just stole it.

  • @99thflooroi exactly. now change the description.

ps Lowman Pauling was a genius.

  • You don't see this any more? or do you

  • Really Fabolous!

  • The Flips were the deal when I was growing up in N.E. OK.......What great days, then !

Who could have guessed things would get so crazy in the world, and the world of music

that the best place to look was waaaay back !That's what I do ! Thank God for the survival of great music !

  • I remember going to the old Prom Ballroom up here in St. Paul to hear these guys. We were invited down for a viist. Took a train with a singing friend, Kari and I remember them living above a drug store in Lawrence, Kansas with a stand up coke cooler in their living room. They also took us over to The Red Dog for the night. I still have lots of pictures from this trip and their large photo poster! Great guys, fun guys and would love to know who's still in the business. Colleen

  • Oh those were the days! Used to go to the Old Prom Ballroom up here in St. Paul to hear them.. Got an invite from these guys to Lawrence, Kansas. Took a train with a singing friend, Kari Sanderson. Had a great time- took us to The Red Dog and had a blast! I remember them living above a Drug Store with a stand up coke cooler in their living room! I still have lots of pictures from that trip and their picture poster. Yep, those were the days!

  • Dan I think this is great. Surely you have to have some videos from some of your earlier gigs. I bet Terry Wierman would have a lot of stuff. You guys ought to get together to sell those items. You have a lot of fans our there. If not videos maybe some music recordings from you performances.

  • I imagine that I saw the Flippers as much as anyone on the post. I saw them at the Dog in both Lawrence and Wichita as well as many other venues. I never got tired of them. My favorite Flipper song "I Don't Wanna Cry." Would love to see it posted. I played with a show band from the same era booked by their manager John Brown. FYI the leader of the Breakers, Bob Garvey, passed last year.

  • The Flippers were one of the greatest show bands touring the mid west back then. Top drawer horn line with great stage presentation. Would love to see more of this on you tube. I'm a flipper fan for ever. Thanks guys for some great music.

  • Dan,

Keep posting any of this stuff you have. It is amazing, but 40+ years later there are "still" tons of people in the upper Midwest who remember the Fabulous Flippers. Thanks for the posts, you guys were the best live band I ever saw!

  • Thanks, Danny- I assume this must be you putting this out there. I have an old promo 8x10 from this movie that was given to me by Darlowe Olson of the Roof Garden Ballroom. You guys were who I wanted to be back then (first live band I ever saw- at the Cobblestone Ballroom) I'm still a musician to this day. Thanks again!
