  • this song helped me through my grandpa's death, along with alcohol =(, not a single one of my surviving family members were the same after his death. It's funny how one person can be the lynchpin for a whole family; but we all seemed to fall apart after his death. it's hurtful how one can wish for death, do things destructive to one's body, and yet cling to life like it's worth something in the scheme of things.

  • my band has a song called St Lawrence River too - very different though. Check it out: search for st lawrence river payroll union

  • David usher one of the best from montreal !!! :P

  • just saw David and his band play at the Geraldton Jamboree and i must say it was the time of my life....what a beautiful man all around and an awesome band....i luv this song, its so beautiful <3

  • My friend lawrence help me a lot, he deserves to be helped too he held me down, this is a clue to the seven churches harbor house he is my friend, hes struggling. bergen st

  • umm i think i named u both backwards... but the comments still count.. just switch ur names.

  • Just so everyone knows... My sister worked with the real writer of this song in Winnipeg 15 years ago. He sold it to David Usher. it's about his girlfriend killing herself...i just think everyone should know the true meaning.

  • @avayomama Totally reliable....some dude on youtube said it so it must be true. And his sister told him so it must have also been true then.

  • @avayomama i have met the him and been to many concerts both of his solo work and before that when he was front man of moist. I gotta say I have serious trouble believing he would feel the need to put his name on a song he didn't pen. The man is brilliant, and in multiple languages no less.

@atreyukicks too right. Nail on the head.

  • @avayomama Actualy I have never met the writer but he told me it was about a glass of Eggnog that he spilt and could never quite get over. I said it so it must be true.

  • @cambro64 you guys can say what you want. but it doesn't change the fact that i'm telling the truth. lol i didn't realize there were so many people (who have never met the man) who would take my comment so personally and take time out of their day to hate on it even though they have no proof as to otherwise ... lol again, imply that i'm stupid all you want, but i am right and the "oh some guy on youtube said it so it must be true" comment, goes the other way too.

  • @avayomama I never once implied that you were stupid nor was it me that made the highlited statement. I just won't believe some random person who cannot affectivley back up their statements on a medium such as this. I will, however, make this staement: "We should stop fooling ourselves and start fooling other people."

    Cheers!

  • i <3 :)

  • This song alwasy reminds me of my brother going away to University back when I was like 17, he used to listen to David Usher all the time and when my mom, dad, and I took him up to Sudbury for school this was the song that came on when we drove up to the University for our first visit during the winter. Now when i hear it, it reminds me of that moment and my bro.

  • @strongfp A frozen moment. I'll bet that will be with you when your hair is gray. Few know you like a brother.

  • Solid by morning.

  • one morning last year...woke up listen that song..go outdoor and see him...strange

  • "I knew you'd be your own destroyer" ca me revient tjs en tete quand j'fais qqch qui de nefaste pour moi, me rappelant que si j'echoue c'est de la faute de personne d'autre que moi, malgre le faible lien entre ca et la tune... Ca revient encore ^^ Wise Lyrics Mr.Usher, tyvm.
