  • Film far too mediocre for this brilliant music

  • Who's the idiot who clicked dislike? :(

  • @ht990332 Those We Don't Speak Of.

  • People, do yourself a favor. Sit back, close your eyes, listen to the music. What is it trying to tell you? What is it asking you? Don't open your eyes until the music is over. Listen to the gentle notes and feel it vibrate in your very soul.

People now days think that if a movie makes you think-then it sucks. People don't want to think, they want to feel the fear and excitement, but not think about the reason this movie is made.

  • I havent seen the movie, but just hearing this beautiful music makes me get my car and drive down to the nearest Blockbuster.

  • 1 person doesn't know what the music is asking them.

  • why is there so much dead time after each song ? Just curious

  • I admit I have underestimated James Newton-Howard. It's a beautiful score he created (I haven't seen the movie yet), now I'm discovering his other works. :)

  • its a testament to the quality of a song that in 150,000 views there is only one dislike. its such beautiful music

  • i wish i had the guy i love and i sit on the porch together on a cold foggy night. ;)

  • James Newton Howard is a genius

  • 1 person masturbated in the shed not to be used

  • Those we don't speak of made a youtube account and disliked this video.

  • WHERE can I get the sheet music for this? I have scoured the internet. I've even email Hilary Hahn....I doubt she was too impressed with that....HELP!

  • This theme is so beautiful. For those who like it, search for "Ralph Vaughan Williams - The Lark Ascending", also played by Hilary Hahn.

I also liked the movie very much, i think its an underrated masterpiece.

  • Didnt care for the movie. To put it this way, i'd rather watch Finding Nemo.

  • Dam it, I was just going to quote how this thing had 300+ thumbs up and no thumbs down, the most unanimously positive rating I've seen on youtube.

I was going to quote how this music must have had a subliminal effect on the world and admirers of music. But sadly there's always a troll around to remind us how bad the world can make one feel. But I have hope.

  • I know M. Night gets a lot of hate for some of his other movies - The Last Airbender, anyone? - and also that this movie was made fun of in Scream 4, I believe, but this film truly touched me. I hadn't seen the trailers beforehand so I didn't know what to expect, and I think not knowing might be why I liked it so much. The music is beautiful, the plot was thought-provoking, the acting was very good. Overall, one of my favorite movies. :)

  • @Cheriitoh the whole point of a twist is to keep you from knowing, but at the point where it was most essential to be kept from it, the scene where she's attacked has no suspense in it, since you know it's not a creature. =/

everything else i felt was done really well, but that scene being the climax, being messed up so badly, was the deal breaker, and probably why it became a joke. =/

  • Beautiful.

  • Simply put, the movie is true cinematic art...and the music is enchanting, one of the best movie scores. Bryce Howard should have one an oscar.

  • @J3st3r42 he should have a beer

  • Haunting.

  • No, seriously, you're babbling a little bit...

  • WHAT ARE YOU ASKING ME?!

  • this one is the same as The vote

  • the best evidence of how music makes a movie...just.....i cant find any word to describe.........

  • the music make's it so amazing

  • Breathtaking, yeah. Actually there's no word.

  • I got goose pimples

  • I love this score so much. This movie is among my favorites for reasons such as this.

  • this music not only speaks to the soul but awakens it with grace and beauty.

  • James Newton Howard is definitely among the two greatest composers I have ever known. Up there with Morricone. Have you listened to Newton's scores on the King Kong-remake?

  • omg just plain Beautiful! <33

soo breathtaking ..this score totally reaches into my soul.. ahhhhmazing.

im soo awwed by this..i could listen to this forever. <3

  • Great film!!

  • the best movie that you-know-who ever created

  • when i was watching this movie when i was little i kept thinking Link was going to start killing the monsters with the master sword lol

  • If I had a choice my friends...I would choose to live in the village forever...

  • hopefully there is no any dislikers i can enjoy the music this time

  • beautiful

  • so beautiful ;(

  • I love you James Newton Howard.

  • Oh my God.. this music.. it's just amazing!!

  • I think this score is just so beautifully written Howard is just amazing at what he does, he really is a legend! It fits so well with the film and really gets the audience to feel the emotion of what the film is all about... I think the film itself was brilliant, so cleverely thought through, it is a film we can easily believe in to be true - thank you for putting this up :)

  • Hola

Que música más hermosa, gracias Dios.

    Adiós.

  • You know this stuff sounds a lot like last airbender flow like water! :) Thanks for posting

  • @pitbulllover151 well maybe because they both are by James Newton Howard

  • Good movie or not, the soundtrack is fucking amazing.

  • i love the viloin Hillary haun i am happy she got to play this song

  • I love this movie, I don't care if it got bad reviews. At least Shyamalan isn't the same old crap remakes of crap remakes of crap remakes that seems to be what most cinema is about these days

  • I would choose to live in the village...

  • This movie actually has intelligence behind it. Instead of just blood and gore and sex. It's not just a scary movie, it's a love story. The movie also makes you think. Instead of just telling you what happens, you have to figure it out for yourself.

  • the movie was promoted as 'Scary' and 'Thriller'. thanks to the idiotic production team. Even M.Night mentioned this movie is a Love Story which also includes lesson on Fear,Hope & Escapism. actually this movie is like 2001 A space odyssey where it came ahead of the time. this will be a great movie in the future. hope people will agree this.

  • This James Newton Howard has to be a god. This music almost makes me cry. Thats awesome. It's full of emotions like the movie it was made for.

  • its an realistic lie...

if you know what i mean

  • the whole life is build on a lie....

but this lie wants to safe the people ....

althought it knows that someday it will has its coming out...

  • when i hear this soundtrack i feel if im in paradise but als omakes me feel sad...

    <3

  • Very Beautiful Soundtrack ! : )

    And very beautiful movie.

  • I love this music so much ^^ the movie is beautiful

  • I love 5.30 because it brings back images of the film and also of The Happening. :)

  • The movie touches me..it blows my soul away and people expected a horrormovie,so I did,but the majority doesn't like it afterwards, since it is no horrormovie, the minority instead, where I myself belong to,loves it,exactly BECAUSE it is no horrormovie..Night told such a great story underlined with a dammit wonderful metaphoric and the most wonderful score ever existed. My praise,mr. Shyamalan, never seen such a heartmelting story!

  • I read

that night himself thought that this shoulda probly been presented at a love story

    the monsters...are just mosquitoes

  • I read

that night himself thought that this shoulda probly been presented at a love story

    the monsters..."are just mosquitoes"

  • maravilhoso

  • The movie is brilliant, and the music is plays a big part in that.

  • el soundtrack es demasiado bueno me encanta.....excelente el trabajo de James Newton...es una melodia triste, meláncolica, es impresionante lo que puede hacer la musica....gran trabajo....

  • This movie and it's music are by far one of the best I've ever seen and heard!

  • Great music for such a great film.

  • I've seen this movie at least four times and just can't get enough of it. The music is one of the reasons, why I love it so much. If you get it, you get it and if you don't, you don't. but in my opinion, this is the best horror movie I've ever seen.

  • @SympatheticDoll

I agree. I wouldn't exactly call it a horror movie, though. I think it's closer to a thriller.

and the ending was very dissapointing. it was just left wide open.

but dispite that, this is still one of my favorite movies & soundtracks.

  • @RukisxGoldxPants why where you left wide open? they managed to save pheonix. the monsters arent real. the movie is a message, not a riddle. and the ending is no dissapointment. the movie had no questions to be answerd, and if you didnt get it yourself, you dont desirve such a movie

  • @SpazmaticAttack Well, someone is deciding to be an asshole today.

I did understand the movie. however, it does stop at a cliffhanger. It doesn't even show if Lucious(I probably didnt spell that right) lives or if the elders decide to continue the village. it just...ends. and I personally was not satisfied with the ending and decided to voice my opinion. and I am not the only one who thinks that way.

  • @RukisxGoldxPants well, i took it like they saved him : p its clarely some reliefe in the atmosphere when she arrives with the medicine, and i dont know if they continue living like that, but i think thats up to the viewer. what he believes. you dont get m.night man.. and im too bad at explaining to explain why.. but the open ending is cus he doesnt wanna spoil the movie for anyone, use your imagination

  • this composer is just so good

  • Comment removed

  • i liked it im sure there is some real place like this out west in the U.S lol are wait there is ahmsi ppl lol just jokeing you all make some good stuff

  • @dalanebigsexy YOU'RE SO FUNNY -______________-

  • Just think about it, isn't this the best horror movie you have seen 0_0... ? What you can't see is much more scary than what you can see. And I really didn't expect the ending ....

  • Shyamalan really knows how to make a horror! they are soo subtley scary and so beautiful. The Sixth Sense is one of my favourite films. and probably one of the best horrors i have seen. although the Sixth Sense has probably got my least favourite soundtrack of all his films (although i can't remember The Happening's?) This, Unbreakable and Signs are the best in terms of soundtrack. They're brilliant

  • movies this time you have to watch to find out what happens next. Time to stop guessing what happens next for this movie will never lead you down a boring path. And for those of who hate this movie it's because you cannot see the true beauty and emotion of this movie, you cant understand any of it cause all your looking for is blood which you can find in a cheap worthless movie.

  • @luver781 YOU'RE RIGHT! ;)

  • This movie is 100 times better than any horror movie out there and i mean it, Most horror movies all you see is stupid kids having sex and blood nothing good but to laugh at, Now this movie is so emotional it gets you when you least aspect leaving you in tears and shocked. This movie is a piece of art, unlike so other

  • @luver781 absolutally right !

  • @luver781 That's the main reasons James did the music for this, I believe ! <3

  • @luver781 Omgosh YES...i totally agree. i don't get the point of gory movies. this movie is amazing.. :)

  • @luver781 Totally agree.Pure art.And Art is making people connect and feel something while watching/listening.This movie definitely does that. It's amazing.Probably the most amazing horror movie.

  • @luver781 it left you in tears? I thought it was decent, but in tears? really? lol come on, the village elders were jackasses, there wasn't anything emotional, it was just a sadistic ending "yes blind daughter, you will go out in the wild and fetch medicine" wonder how that town meeting went off set "pssh, she's going to trip over so many bushes, just hope the idiot doesn't get vengeful and try killing her...where did he go? aww crap."

  • stupid viewers are bound to underrate a movie like this. It has a gratifying weight of intellect behind it. Top film. Wish there was substance like this. I'd rather the film industry released 90% less but of this standard.

  • wonderful violin music!

  • i agree, this movie was great in its ways. i cant believe people thought it was 'dumb'. maybe those people dont think far enough?

  • superb film, underrated by dumb idiots

  • c toujours un plaisir d'ecouter cette music

  • @mehdi7506 Vraiment oui, c'est la langue du coeur je croix.

  • suono sublime..

  • perfection

  • Wow...my heart just felt like it flew across the ocean...amazing!

  • Beautiful music for a beautiful movie, story |L|

  • i love james newton howard's music! especially the lady in the water! this is amazing

  • STUNNING!

  • Que buena Musica

  • It's my favorite and the it gives me the most emotions!

    I love it! *_*

  • this gives me goosebumps, but i love the feeling,

  • i cried!

  • My soul answers when I hear this music...wonderful and epic!

  • @MyKatta so my soul does!

  • so beautiful and romanticle

  • Thank you realy helpfull.

    xx

    lol

  • this is so effing good, i always listen to this wheni have to write essays, like now XD

  • This movie is in my top 3 favourite films of all time and has been for a very long time. It's just too good!

  • People don't get it because it's not the same scary movie everyone is looking for. It's not the Saw III, let me get in your face type of movie.

People don't want to see what they don't expect. That's why they didn't like it. I think it was totally believable and had a very relevant point about how we live today. People are just too blind to see it.

  • yay... finally! some one who understands!

  • @StingerRecords I didn't care iwhat genre they said the film should be. It is just how powerfull and strong the pictures were... the actors and of course the music. It LOVED the movie for being different than any other film I had seen before... and I still do.

  • @StingerRecords

I absolutely agree with you. They're just too blind. This is a wonderful movie with a deep idea. Anyway, in a good horror aren´t zombies, too much blood and so on. You can be afraid without this too. The Village is a great example of this.

  • @StingerRecords I think part of the problem, outside of our thrill seeking culture, is the fact is wasn't really advertised properly. It was billed as this sitting on the edge of your seat in fear thriller when it really is a deeper film than that. I think it would be more positively viewed today if they had advertised it correctly.

  • thats the smartest thing ive heard in a long time : )

  • @StingerRecords i agree, the movie is more a message then anything else. as well as all the other movies of m.night : p (i dont see the last airbender as a night movie, he just sold he's ass for money, and i forgive him.. i would have done the same)

The Village changed my views on life and society as well as changing my life.

  • @StingerRecords ive never seen this movie, but it looked scary when it came out lol, i don't really like m.night shymalan's movies but they do scare me, like if i think about it & if i have a dream about it it scares me lol

  • @StingerRecords I could not have said it better myself

  • @StingerRecords I actually haven't met someone who's seen the village and disliked it! But yeah I agree with you and I personally loved it. It was so eerie, beautiful, so gripping, one of my all time favourites, and the Howard soundtrack is magnificent.

  • @StingerRecords I tell people this when they mention this movie all the time, but most of them don't get it. I still love it. Every aspect of it.

  • @alextvei Exactly. There's something in this movie that people didn't get. That's annoying...

  • @StingerRecords: Too sad that they´re too blind. This movie needs much more attention. And Shyamalan needs support to make other movies like The Village!

(the last Airbender wasn´t that good I expected...)

  • @StingerRecords I agree. The thing is, a lot of the trailers were misleading so people were expecting some terrifying movie about monsters terrorizing this village. It's really a shame because it was a good movie; great cast, and beautiful scoring.

  • @StingerRecords dude exactly. i watched this when i was younger and now i watched it and i love it to death

  • @StingerRecords I totally agree, I'm so glad someone else has the same opinion on this film. I wonder sometimes what happened to the classic thriller, where it tests the boundaries of current world views and actually makes you THINK and is more about the mental rather than piss your pants because some guy with a chain saw is running around.

  • @StingerRecords i like it subtle, but building up an interesting plot for the whole movie just to destroy it in a few minutes is just, meh?!

  • i loved this movie and i cried when ivy was heartbroken cos she thought he might die, love this music and the movie was genius

  • I just don´t understand how must peaple didn´t like this movie.... it is ...... i love it

  • yeah its funny cause i really loved the movie but the media says the story wasnt very believabel its bull if you ask me

  • james newton howard is a genius, maestro!

btw, is it violin in each of the soundtrac's song?!

  • Yes.

  • yeah, he uses violins primarily, played by Joshua Bell. :)

  • i thought it was hilary hahn?

  • yeah i think you're right. i got mixed up with Defiance. that was joshua bell i think :). hehe thanks :D

  • either way they're both super good, hilary just happens to be the one inthis song

  • Wrong, it's played Hilary Hahn.

  • i think the people expected a scary movie

maybe thats why that a lot of people didnt like it.

    but for me was great

  • This one one of those movies that had to grow on me, its the concept the idea behind the movie that makes it a great movie, besides the soundtrack is amazing

  • I always cry when I watch this movie and hear the music it's so beautiful

  • @luver781 I agree!

  • beautiful

  • I know the Soundtrack for the movie was voted best in 2004, but the movie itself was also the best thing that happened that year, especially when I think of how many times I've seen it since...compared to others.

  • i completely agree. it's not often to hear of people liking this movie.

  • belle à mourire ...

  • i love this song

  • Hermoso

  • I LIKED THE SCENE WERE DALLAS ENCOUNTERS THE OFFICER. She portrayed a good image of INNOCENCE.... i just liked the trembling of her voice and the expression on her face. All this secuence of the movie really make you think about us as a society and where we have gone wrong.

  • I agree. It was a true moment.

  • I love her expression too. She's a brilliant actress.

  • oh she is! im so glad that she's going to be in the new Terminator movie!

  • I LIKE THIS MUSIC

    EU GOSTO DESTA MUSICA

  • breathtaking.

  • hi, well you can look up for other james newton howard's songs, or soundtracks, they are same as awesome good luck!!

  • Does any one know where I can find more music like this?

  • at what point during the movie is this?

  • to help noah or no. He fell into the trap

  • Great movie and soundtrack!

Both are masterpieces and the soundtrack is a must hear or have.:)

Bryce Dallas Howard is a great actress.

  • just got a shiver down my spine... hairs standing up on my neck now... brilliant.

  • Beautiful movie, beautiful soundtrack:)

  • It's a masterpiece.

  • love this melody

  • Best soundtrack hands down
