  • sent chills down my spine

  • Couldnt resist humming along to this. Then the singing started and I nearly broke down from the rush of nostalgia

  • Her singing ruined this for me... Her voice isn't that good imo and she can't even sing in Japanese properly.. Just sounds weird

  • @AsphyxiatedFrog yeah, I agree. I like the English version

  • Dam man, i look at all tha music from ff9 and am disappointed they dont orchestrate more of tha music from it... To me ff9 had tha best overall tracks

  • All those who vote down, why did you come here?

  • This song always makes me tear up. I feel warm inside whenever I hear this :] Long live Final Fantasy and the awesome people who made it. :D

  • Bring my Beloved Dagger to me!!

    LONG LIVE FF9!!!!

  • aaah!...Now im seeing Garnet/Dagger and Zidane running together over a green field in Gaia!...Happy Ever after lol

"A voice from the past, joining yours and mine. Adding up the layers of harmony. And so it goes, on and on. Melodies of life"

  • very pretty indeed

  • not so good vocalist, may be there were some mispelling lol

  • Just too beautiful, i´m crying rivers here, long live Final Fantasy!!!

  • wthhhhhhhhhhhhhh memoriesssssssssssssss :'(

  • 10 people are Kuja's minions

  • EARGASM !!

  • this version is ok i guess... but i really love emiko shiratori's version which is the original

  • Who's singing? O_o;;

  • @ipxtwilight its the vocalist of indonesian pop band...her name Arina Ephipania...

  • hey, this concert was happened in my country, Indonesia. How could I miss it?? Damn, I regret it of not watching it at JakTV. I also don't know when it's happened

  • I hate the fact hat I have never played this game.

  • she ain't even japanese

  • 10 people clearly don't understand the beautiful melodies of life

  • Sadly, I have to dislike this beautiful song. Don't get me wrong, I am a FF freak, I love Arina's band, Mocca. But she butchered this song with so many unnecessary vibration. She was out of tune in the beginning. I guess Emiko Shiratori's voice is too clear compared to Arina's.

  • @ChrysogonusLi are you shitting me? I thought her voice was perfect for this song... maybe cos i heard her sing eyes on me and was like O_O until i heard her sing melodies of life my heart sank :)/. Frame of reference? haha but anyways I thought she sang it very well

  • 0:04 - 1:06 called "the place that i returned to someday" , not melodies of life .. ~_~

  • @kacabeling *the place that i'll return to someday. Adding that part was just for extra climax as an intro. It's not important to include in the title if you're truly an FF freak :P. The main song was melodies of life so the title remains as melodies of life

  • I love this game <3 I love Final Fantasy <3

  • the last final fantasy game that contains "fantasy...

  • @UrgentUrge include final fantasy x,, it also has great story

  • WHAT? THERE ARE LYRICS TO THIS!!!! OMG I NEVER FREAKING KNEW THAT

    :'( WHY! DOUSHITE!

  • C'est pas elle la vrai chanteuse aussi... L'autre chante mieux, c'est : Emiko Shiratori

  • Yeah, FFIX's soundtrack is indeed Nobuo's Uematsu's favourite, closely followed by FFVI's soundtrack. Funnily, FFIX is also Hironobu Sakaguchi's (creator of FF) favourite game, closely followed by FFVI. Nice pattern, huh :P?

  • FINAL FANTASY A DIFERENT FORM TO SEE THE LIVE

  • @DaNyxX07 MGS too, FF and MGS are the best games on earth

  • Supposedly FFIX was Noubou's favourite soundtrack

    Not surprised

    It's a lot of fun

  • @Isikien it is true he said it himself in this interview and i dont blame him its a complete masterpiece

  • ff9 best game ozma hardest boss ever! still cant beat him :(

  • Best Final Fantasy EVER!!!!

  • LONG LIVE ALL FINAL FANTASY

  • @kurosaki63 agreed!

  • @kurosaki63 Except for every final fantasy after FFX which have been crap.

  • love this song..

    really nice..

    love Final Fantasy IX ^^,

  • Its sounds even more sweet in japanese than in english, even with me not understanding a thing but a few words here and there :D

  • i remember the days when i play this....ULTIMA weapon for Stainer really ROCKS my gaming life....XD

  • OMG, her spelling is BAD!!! She sings self-made Japanese :))))

  • @Lhaila29 I guess you are talking about her pronunciation since she didn't write anything :p

  • @Celila9d yes she did, look closer.

  • @Xiller8 arina ephipania wrote something in the video?

  • jerk!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • I wish it would've been in English.

Still, she's really good, and I love the orchestra!

  • Heeeeeeeeey, I just noticed that this sounds slightly like "The Oath" from FFVIII at parts. Hear the main Clarinet and Flute parts at the beginning? Alter the rhythm slightly, keep the chords about the same, and there ya go! :P

  • She looks so uncomfortable singing, which makes her uncomfortable to watch, good singer when you're not watching her lol

  • lovely song indeed..

  • paling cocok gita gutawa nyanyiin lagu ni

  • loh?bukannya Twilite Orchestra dari indonesia? kapan konsernya nih? sayang gak bisa nonton :(

  • i like the original artist better :P but this women has an amazing voice too!

  • Ah man, I miss my copy of FFIX. Definitely my favorite FF right next to VII. And this theme was fairly catchy; I always used to hum it or itd be stuck in my head after traversing on the world map for too long, hah.

  • Really like her voice! It's really quite...solid, you know?

  • Though I've never been too big a fan of the 'Melodies of Life' song with lyrics, I cried when they played The Place I'll Return to Someday ;_;

Such strong childhood memories of turning the game on and hearing that theme!

Though I love all of the Final Fanties from 1 to 10, 9 will ALWAYS be my favourite!

  • amo FFIX, mi mejor juego entre todos los que he jugado, me trae muy buenos recuerdos, y la cancion un 10/10 ^^

  • the One Winged Angel (FFVII:AC version) was flawed. they had the wrong lyrics in the latter part of the song (using the original instead of the AC version). lack of reference.

  • Probably intentional, to make it a mix of original lyrics and the AC. though, if you translate it probably won't make any sense. LOL

  • itu emang addie MS

  • itu kapan yah konsernya? koq ane kagak tau?

  • ga tw psti.. tp yg jelas udh lumayan lama..

  • me ase querer llorar T_T

  • pero es mejor escucharlo con los ojos cerrados para soñar no? :)

  • oh my god, i want to see this show in my country, it's too bad, that this art isn't shown in this zone, it's very dissapointing, the music, the esculpture, theatre all the seven arts are very abandoned...

  • i still think out of all the final fantasy games this ending theme gives the most closure, you saved the princess but everyone thought you died while doing so. BUT came back! now relish in the glory And enjoy the memories of that time and of what life would bring afterward. At least that is my own humble interpretation of the song. :)

  • this reminds me of the old days playing FFIX 24 hours haha

  • same here i might do it again just for the good old days starting on disc 1

  • Back then, I remember that this game was very hard to beat because I didnt know what to do

  • Yeah... I cried at the ending.

"Bring my beloved Dagger to me!"

Man, I get goose bumps every time I think about FF9... Just... Wonderful... Nobuo and Square made really a perfect game.

  • @eXcalibooor Amen to that. I get goosebumps just seeing the soundtrack sitting on my desk.

  • @eXcalibooor That's the first comment, i've ever seen about FF9. If it's such perfect game, I wonder why relatively few others agree with you. (I'm being serious, why do many people seem to think it's 7 or 10 instead of 9.

  • @TheMohawkNinja Hey dont forget number 8. 6,7,8 and 9 where the best in my opinion. hm i should play ff 6 again. i was a child when i played this and my english skill was not very good. Today i should understand everything. But these 4 parts are all very good. i cant even say which is my favourite one. But ff8 is underrated.

  • @TheMohawkNinja to me FFX sucks!...so the other games that where released after this!

  • her japanese -______-......

    But it's fine tho

  • yes japanese, but its good 5/5 ff power for live.

    ms

  • its just her malay singing style. Nothing's wrong abt her japanese. quite interesting interpretation.

  • i am Brazilian... I speak on behalf of all. end final fantasy 9 he will be living with me eternamente. and on memorials of each one what had the privileged of played

    Final Fantasy IX Eternamente!

  • omg oboe and clarinet i love thoose instruments and this song!!! lmao ff9 was my favorite one ever XDDD I love the singer too lmao love this in general and more XDDD

  • very nice concert!

  • I loved FFIX. It was so underrated, though.

  • ff9 was good it matched the final fantasy theme.whilst ff7 was overated and didnt even feel like a ff game

  • See, now I'm not a fanboy or anything, and do agree that 7 is a bit overrated due to most of the fan base starting there, but 7 still had the core elements of every single final fantasy game, you had Crystals (Giant Materia and the Black and Holy Materia), some evil plot that involved destroying or subverting them (Sephiroth, Shinra), plot twists (Aerith, Hojo, Zack), and the battle to save the planet and restore the balance between Light and Dark.

That being said, this song is fucking amazing.

  • I started with 7 but out of all the FF pass and present I've played none can compare my playing FF9. I love it so much I played it a total of 4 times. There is a certain charm to the characters and story that keeps me enjoying it all these years.

I think FF9 maybe the the most underrated Final Fantasy game

  • i do concur with you my friend, 9 is still my favorite Final Fantasy, and the second to bring me to tears.

  • Thank you. Glad to know I'm not the only person who feels FFIX never gets as much credit as it deserves.

  • 9 was great because it was a breath of fresh air to old-school RPG's in the new generation graphics. 9 is my favorite. It had the old RPG style of gameplay with probably the greatest cinematics.

Although i wished they worked out the villain a bit.. I wonder who came up with the Character design of Kuja.

  • Very well put. Agreed :).

  • 9 and 6 are actually tied for me. 6 was the darkest Final Fantasy game of all time. Listen to Terra's theme.

  • Omg I can totally relate with you. I loved six so much, and nine will always be my favorite. It just bothers me so much that great games like this are so under the radar!

  • how the fuck is anything Final Fantasy "under the radar"?

  • Hey, hey, hey! Theres really only one Final Fantasy that everyone knows about, and that would be VII, because of the movie about it. Final Fantasy 1-6+8/9 aren't at all as popular. Hell, even preps in my school talk about how cool Vincent and Cloud are. I mean, really, if I were to bring up---oh, Zell, or Eiko, they wouldn't have a fucking clue as to who I was talking about and you know it.

  • What the fuck are you talking about? Everybody has always known FF VII was the shit. Two years ago, I had never even heard of Advent Children. But I still remembered playing FF7 way back in the day, and how it was still the best thing that happened to PlayStation. Just look at all the Final Fantasy porn on the internet: It's mostly about Tifa.

Maybe that's why your friends only know about FF7?

  • @RagingSpammer

hmmm... well FF7 is indeed the most popular FF, no doubt about it but there's a reason why you didn't know about FF AC until 2 years ago, it wasn't made long before that :P and if you think about it, there's really no point in arguing who likes which one best, diferent people like diferent things, it's just as simple as that :) but yeah... in my personal opinion, FF7 is the best one :)

  • Comment removed

  • @RagingSpammer Since it isn't the best part to some people. I myself like IX and VI more, but respect that others like VII more.

  • EW! That is just so sick! Poor Tifa =( Getting bashed and seen by all these losers and nerds on the internet.

  • Comment removed

  • Im talking about the porn thing. I don't how on earth would someone do that. it is beyond me.

  • Rule #34 of the internet. I'm not entirely sure why either, but that's the way things work.

  • IX was just sadly overshadowed by the PS2's release and FFX. It probably would've gotten a lot more respect if it wasn't released so near the end of the PSX's life.

  • I love both 6 and 9

If I had to pick one I wouldn't be able to do it. The music in both is just...

The stories in both I love

    The characters

    The humour

    I could keep going on

    The villains as well

Kefka was this insane character who was seen as a joke at the beginning of the game but then becomes this God

    And Kuja

The only man I could call sexy without feeling bad in anyway

  • Kuja's personality (and Trance form) more than made up for his metrosexual appearance.

  • yeah i agree that dude..

ff9 is the best ff among 7,8

but i'd did not say that 7,and 8

    is the worst.. ff series..

  • @cisco19 Yoshitaka Amano did I think :)

  • is this the original orchestra? and the singer? of the final fantasy 9?

  • I'm pretty sure it's not. For the singer at least. If I remember, the singer of Melodies of Life is Emiko Shiratori. If you're a Zelda fan, she also did a vocal version of Epona's song.

Still, I like this singer's voice from what I've heard so far. This is a really nice concert. Wish I was there.

  • the orchestra is an indonesian orchestra. the singer is a vocalist of an indonesian famous band, mocca.

i was there, the concert was great.

even the conductor's wife cosplayed as Yuna, she was really beautiful LoL

  • ♥ I love this... its so epic

  • when u think about it, melodies of life kinda tells the story of zidane and dagger's journey through the game.

  • LONG LIVE FINAL FANTASY NINE!!

  • @BlasterCZ

While you at it, why not go with all Final Fantasies !

  • @BlasterCZ YEAH!

  • In my dearest memories, I see you reaching out to me Though you're gone, I still believe that you can call out my name * A voice from the past, joining yours and mine Adding up the layers of harmony And so it goes, on and on Melodies of life, To the sky beyond the flying birds--forever and beyond

  • man...i would love to go see a concert like this...none around here though...

  • uhh...i agree,,,i guess we got some accent trouble here...its hard to sing in japanese accent when u were indonesian u know...i understand cuz im indonesian...

but overall i love it...melodies of life is like a music 4 my life

  • wow.. love the song.. i love how the singer interpret the song and the orchestra sounds really great...

  • I love melodies of life T_T it sounds as if you are in a faraway land with ruined temples, huge meadows strange people and villages...

  • Lol, Is she... ahaha... she's singing with an Indonesian accent XD I almost thought she was singing in bahasa XD kekeke...

  • That's weird... now you said that, I've never heard an Indonesian accent, but it sounds like she's talking Indonesian :P ... Well singing.

  • why they put this singer on this stage!!!

and The most severed is they put this singer on this song??? just put tina toon to this stage if u want damage this song!!!!

  • HAHAHAHAHA !!! i rather put dewi persik to add more damage to this song.

  • yay FFIX was my favorite game in the series. speant over 240 hours of my life on that game T_T

  • I love that they did the "Place to call home" thing at the beginning, and FFIX is WAY under-rated, it's an awesome game.

  • It sounds a little distorted. Do you have it in high quality?

  • Melodies of Life...the Final Fantasy song that thrills me most. FFIX is the best.

  • I'm a huge FFIX fan, and this is definitely one of my favorite songs. Her voice suits the song really well and I only heard like, 2 small mistakes? The language is a bit of a factor as well... But overall I think she sounds great.

  • She doesnt sound all that great

  • Nobuo Uematsu also said his soundtrack for FF IX is his favorite and that he had the most fun creating it out of all the FF games.

  • For this reason the music of this game is very... hahaha i dont know... special?, there are no words to discribe the beauty of this music ^^

and now, other question. When was this concert?

  • Her voice kind of sucks.

Maybe its just her japanese, Idk.

Anyway, melodies of life is a great song ^^

  • I don't care what people say FF 9 will always be my favorite FF game. No other games gives such good feeling when I hear the music or makes me want to play over and over.

  • and may I add this is the first time a FF song may want to cry. Such a lovey performance...no beautiful version

  • This is one of my favorite songs from Final Fantasy. I remember always letting this game run for a while when I was trying to find her in the castle in Linblahblah

  • is it possible for a song to have a soul? if so, 'melodies of life' does.

and that girl has a beautiful voice.

  • love this song

  • sweet music ff9<3 ^^

  • Mir gefällts. Es würd reichen wenn ich es auf irgendeinem Instrument spielen könnte.

  • such a great song i wish i could hear it live

  • i think this songs have some spirit inside this lyric, because i feel is somenthing worng inside this songs.

  • one of the best final fantasy songs ever

    well in my opinion anyways.

  • yup i love FF 9 and eight there a huge connection between the song and the game, sometimes make us feel sad, sometimes make us weird, rage , scared that's why i said ff 11 till 13 are sucks... coz they don't have the feeling from the other FF before them ^_^ what I feel from this song is a heart full of adventure and sadness but happiness too

  • The storyline in FFXI is actually amazing; especially for the Chains of Promathia and ToAU expansions. The only issue is you also have to deal with the MMO grind, and the difficulty of progressing along it, which can severely detract from any storyline, no matter how good.

  • FF9 was like playing with kids because of the way characters were designed but it was a good game though. but i cant agree with it being harder to finish bec i finished it for first time without final weapons and max level but compared to FF7 i maxed out all characters and had their ultimate weapons but it was still hard. i think in FF7 the materias were a bit more important because 1 smmon of knghts of d round= goodbye sephiroth hahaha :) peace man

  • No, one summon doesn't kill him.

  • 1 summon of KotR will usually kill Bizaro Sephiroth (The first of the incarnations you fight before Safer Sephi).

Depends on your level of course, but 70+ should do it.

  • wow..wow..its great...

  • I've always liked Vivi, Eiko, Zidane {A little} and Garnet! XD

    Pretty nice :D

  • I have respect to the conductor, Addie MS. One of the best in Indonesia. I am an Indonesian musician myself here in Sydney, Australia. Pity the singer didn't get the "Japanese accent". But hey, she is not Japanese anyway. So, that's okay. The vibration technique is "so South East Asian". Japanese singers have their distinctive vibration technique. Anyhow, she is still a great singer in her own right.

Violin was a bit off. Overall is great. I wish I had watched this performance.Love the game too!

  • Where´s Emiko :(

  • she's indonesian not japanese,,

  • Her english part was somehow bad but the rest is alright

  • she`s was japanese man..

  • Well, her english part was better than the original singer's english part. She actually pronounced "flying birds" correctly. ^_^

  • zidane!!!.. vivi!!!.. i miss you!!

  • The singer was kinda rusty, she did well with all the words and volume, but some more emotions would help! Other than that,I love it,I've been to all of these kind of concerts,I was at this one and loved it,but now just thinking about that, that was the only thing wrong. She needs more emotions!

  • The orchestra was amazing but the vocals could use a little work

  • i think this is the best FF theme throughout the FF realms... Emiko sang like a goddess... but i think epiphania also did a good job singing this... keep up the good work

  • Great job on the intro by the musicians~

But the singer ruined it by singing "melodies of life" with a VERY POOR AND BAD Japanese intonations~

Hear it for yourself and compare it with the original singer's song~ its totally ruined~ zzzz

  • She has a pretty good voice, but I have to warn her against starting flat and going flat at holds. Other than that, it's pretty good. Four stars.

  • the sweetest of the ff music. cool.

  • final fantasy is a legacy

all of their songs are simply beautiful

  • I agree. Look at your nickname. It shows you're an FF freak. :).. Didn't really like FF X though. The game too complicated and the song doesnt touch as FF 8 and 9. My opinion though. Do you play them as well?

  • i played all of the ff lmao

  • i think FFX was the easiest compared to FFVII which was the hardest but most rewarding. try to play it if you have the platform. i just dont know if the game is still available in the market

  • It's near impossible to find a copy of FFVII, new or used, in stores, but there's usually some new copies available on eBay. I got my copy about a year and a half ago from there.

  • beatiful sounds of ff9 T_T i used to have so much joy listening to this everytime i turned on the game :] final fantasy is one of the greatest things to happen in RPG history <3 20/5

  • argh, shes got a good voice, wicked song, but the sound quality sucks and this is hurting my head, same with eyes on me /cry

  • Wow, she's got a beautiful voice. Love the song too, so 5/5 from me definitely. Somehow I wish I could forget the game so I could start playing it the first time again.

  • this music beautiful and emotional, it makes me cry 'cause it makes me remember the old times when i first got the game and my family were still together and this song takes me back there to that time

  • Gorgeous - the music, the orchestra, that girls voice, everything!
