Well it wasn't really about the ring so much as her husband being on life-support and her wanting Tony to do 'something' about it. Happy passed away so Pepper is a widow. Check the comics out. They are very much worth it if you like these movies and characters.

I love this video so much. Pepper Potts has always been that one beautiful and down to earth girl that will always be there and loyal to Tony. If only he would look past his drinking and partying ways he would see what he always needed beyond the billions of dollars and rockstar lifestyle has always been in front of him the entire time. Yeah it's one of the only comics I read but I started reading after seeing the movie a thousand times lol. But I was always familiar with Iron Man.

I agree that they tragic and are soul-mates. So much has kept them apart. Iron Man, Happy falling in love with (and marrying) Pep and Tony being considerate of that, other women, etc. Like some of the pics say in the video they came very close. Things would have been different for Tony.. and her if she became more than his Girl Friday I'm sure.

Actually..in the latest Iron Man comics called Stark Disassembled it is revealed that they did hook up during a break in Russia when Tony was on the run from Norman Osborn. Not a fan of how that was done...
