  • Where can you get all the make-up, PAX and whatever else you used for the skin color?

  • Your green makeup does look extremely natural! Would sweating affect it, cause it to smear? I might want to cosplay one day that might need a different color skin.

Thanks for the Tutorial Ms M. Shazam!

  • @JongJonz Sweating will make it look a little shiny, but when that happens, you can just use more setting powder to absorb the shine. As long as you don't touch it or rub at it, it won't smear. :D And you're welcome, glad it helped!

  • How do you take this off at the end of the day? Just soap and water?

  • @Kouin Yep, it washes off with soap and warm water! Although for the PAX, I recommend using a loufa sponge, since it'll take a bit of scrubbing to peel it off.

  • I havent seen if it was asked prior, but I was curious: Since you're using Acrylic it wont be bad for the skin will it? Or does the PAX Adhesive protect that from happening?

  • @YouKnowItsJoe When it's mixed with the PAX, it's safe to use on your skin. No worries! :)

  • Thank you so much for this! Any tips on a Miss Martian costume?

  • @CookieNinja9 It's honestly a pretty basic costume, sewing-wise. Do you have any specific questions? :)

  • @MangoSirene I'm mostly concerned about the cape. Did you buy the skirt or make it yourself?

  • @CookieNinja9 I made my entire costume from scratch. :)

  • @MangoSirene It looks so real, well as real as a cartoon character gets... You know what I mean:)

  • @MangoSirene soooo this has bean on my mind I have normal hairy arms would painting over them cause any problems?

  • @HaileeHorrorPro The painting wouldn't be difficult, but the removal would hurt because when PAX comes off, it rips out any hair underneath (think like waxing, except more painful because it peels off slowwwwly). Definitely shave any area before putting PAX on it!

  • This really helped me with my Kisame (from Naruto) paint! Thanks!

  • i have one question.

Does all this come off with just water or do you need something special for that?

  • @Shinyuri It all comes off with hot water and soap! The Kryolan washes off pretty easily, but you'll have to scrub the PAX off with a washcloth or loofa sponge. I recommend buying the PAX Remover spray too. :D

  • Thank you so much for doing this! :)

I'll be tweaking this a little for my Beast Boy cosplay! :3

  • @Takami03 Eee Beast Boy!! Best of luck with your costume~! :D

  • @MangoSirene Thanks!

Actually now that I think of it, I could use this for my Aqualad tattoos :3

  • @MangoSirene Where did you get your wig from?

  • @littleT462 It's from Taobao, but unfortunately the item is no longer available for sale. If you search either Taobao or Ebay for "auburn wig," you should be able to find a few alternatives! :)

  • can i use the kryolan face paint for my hands? with the setting powder?

or can i use . Pros-Aide No-Tack Adhesive, Acrylic Paint on my face?

  • @RogueLover321 You can certainly use Kryolan on your hands, as long as you seal it properly! You may still get a bit of rub-off depending on how much you're touching stuff, but if it's sealed correctly it should stay on pretty well. But do NOT use PAX on your face! It doesn't stretch very well which will make flexing your face difficult and possibly painful. Stick with actual bodypaint (either Kryolan, Ben Nye, or Mehron) to paint your face. :)

  • @MangoSirene thank you so much

ill post pictures after comic con with me in them

  • Thanks for the tutorial ! there is a comicon in Toronto and I want to go as M'gann ! Now I can turn myself green !

  • You know who has to paint themselves green every day?

    Elphaba. :)

  • Thank you so much for this tutorial! I've never used any type of body paints before and had no idea which brands/types to buy. I'm not going to be cosplaying anybody green, but I assume this can apply to gray. ^_^

  • @KimuraDark94 It definitely can! :D Again, I always recommend getting the Kryolan/face paint first, since there are less of a variety available - then match the acrylic paint to that, instead of vice-versa.

  • Thank you so much! I'm planning Miss Martian for this year's YoumaCon, or sooner if I can manage!!! I needed this tutorial lol! :D

  • hothothothothothothothothothothothothothothothothothothothothothot!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! no offence i dont wanna sound like a perv although i alredy kinda do oh well :D

  • @mangosirene okay that's really good to know thanks (so it is possible)

  • Thanks for this I am making this my Halloween Sistine next year I just need to know where did u guys get you costumes

  • @samforesthedarkangel Glad it could help! We handmade all of our costumes from scratch. :)

  • What is the name of the acrylic paint you use? :)

  • @SARAheartsMCQUEEN FolkArt! :) Any brand will work though, that just happened to be on sale at the time, haha!

  • Thanks for the tutorial~ I'm not doing Ms. Martian cosplay but I am doing an ogre fiona cosplay so you really helped a lot! thanks

  • @amaya1334 Oh wow, that'll be such a fun costume to do! Glad I could help - please send me pictures when you're done, it sounds so awesome!! :D

  • best roleplay costume for Miss Martian make up EvEr when i get older i'm sooooo dressing up as Miss Martian btw i notice that u have a imovie but is it imovie 11??? i was just wondering cuz i have a imovie 2 but it like 09 super old do u get imovie 11 through ilife????

  • @XxPrincessMilliexX I have iMovie '09, and yeah, it's just the standard version that comes with iLife. I really want to upgrade it.

  • @MangoSirene same my parents r gonna buy me ilife 11

  • How much is this PAX stuff?

  • @CherriChappi If you order from FX Warehouse, a 4 oz. bottle of Pros-Aide is $16. The 8 oz. bottle is $23, and 16 oz. is $38. The 4 oz. bottle lasted for two uses for me, and there's still a little left over.

  • I don't plan on doing Miss Martian but that was definitely useful for body paint in general, thank you!! :D I was wondering if you'd ever consider doing a contact tutorial?! I'm big into changing eye colors for characters but every time I try no matter how much I completely FAIL at it. :(

  • @MissiePanda Possibly! What exactly are you having trouble with when it comes to contacts? Purchasing them? Or putting them in/taking them out of your eyes?

  • @MangoSirene I still can't even put them in my eyes! :( I've seen a few tutorials and tried to follow them as best as I could, and it just won't work. I guess I have very sensitive eyes. It frustrates me because my cosplay always feel incomplete without the right eye color!

  • @MissiePanda Eep! I'm not sure how much a YouTube video would help with that - there may already be tutorials on putting in contacts, maybe try searching for one? @CourtoonXIII can't put in contacts on her own, so she usually has a friend put them in for her. But if you get a friend to help you, make sure it's someone you trust!

  • I like the contacts cool and im sorry u had to see breaking dawn

  • hey, just wondering for miss martian did you also paint your legs green with the pax and the paint? or did you possibly have coloured stockings? and in the case if you used both which did you find easier.

  • @keyblade14 The first time I wore this costume, I also painted my legs, but to save time, I switched to tights instead. I dyed a pair of white dance tights with RIT dye to match the body paint. :)

  • k i gotta know! what was by far the funniest thing that happened while wearing the costumes? did anybody recognize u? MAN so jealous wish i had thought of that. still havent seen the movie. all in all, to see everybody's reactions, was sitting through the movie worth it?

  • @Amozon28 1. We went to dinner at Noodles & Company before going to the theater, and they gave me a free Caesar salad because I was green! 2. The movie was painful and traumatic but yeah, the experience was SO worth the suffering!

  • Wow, great job! Where did you get the Pax paint? I do a Nightcrawler cosplay and always had trouble keeping the makeup on my neck. Your technique looks like it works really well but I couldn't find it online. Any help would be great!!!

  • @WMoskaluk3 PAX is a mixture of Pros-Aide and acrylic paint. You can buy it in a few pre-mixed colors, but more often than not, you're going to have to mix it yourself. :) You can buy Pros-Aide from FX Warehouse; the brand of paint I like to use is FolkArt, which you can find at JoAnn's.

  • @MangoSirene I hope you don't mind me picking your brain, and for the face, what brand of paint did you use and where did you get it? How do you deal with the issue of matching colors? Is it just a trial and error basis?

And you said you use the Ben Nye fixer after 2 coats of paint, and then the setting powder after that? What brand was the setting powder?

Thanks again for responding, I can't wait to try this out.

  • @WMoskaluk3 I don't mind at all! :D The facepaint is Kryolan Aquacolor; I bought it from CosplaySupplies. Since you mix the PAX yourself, I just took the Kryolan with me to JoAnn's and then found an acrylic paint that matched it. The setting powder is Ben Nye Neutral Set. :)

  • O:

I remember The Robin used to make young justice videos and i requested that she use shazam as her catch phrase like 2 months ago. interesting to see she still uses it.

  • your videos are pointless, but i have to admit they're interesting and funny especially with your friends, lol!

btw, how did the breaking dawn movie thing go? :)

  • @GeeGeeRuby Haha, well as long as they're entertaining I guess that's what matters! :) And it went really well, I mean the movie itself was hilariously bad, but we had so much fun!

  • @MangoSirene ikr i was forced to watch it last week and i regret watching it. did people stare at u guys or make comments with your costumes?

  • @GeeGeeRuby Yeah, we got a ton of stares, that's for sure! We had quite a few people recognize us too, someone even said that seeing us in our costumes was more exciting than the actual movie! (Then again... it was Breaking Dawn... so that's not much competition, haha!)

  • @MangoSirene lmao! well obviously YJ is better than twilight! i swear if u guys lived in my city i would take a picture :) well it sounds like it was worth all the makeup and stuff. btw, search up breaking dawn review by jeremy jahns, its hilarious i think you'll like it :)

so speaking of YJ, do u know when the next episode is gonna come out? its been ages!

  • @GeeGeeRuby Unfortunately the rest of Season 1 has been post-poned until 2012. :( It's common for most TV shows to go on a hiatus over the holidays, but it's still a bummer!

  • @MangoSirene aww i hate waiting! the next episode better be really good for making us wait so long.

  • Ok hope you dont mind me asking question(stupid questions).how do you get all the body paint off?do u use like a special product or something and do you wear anything under your costume And instead of useing a sponge can use like a brush instead or does it look bad that way?

  • @popstar1420 Good question! I use makeup wipes to take off the Kryolan, but for the PAX, I use a combination of PAX remover and scrubbing it off in the shower with hot water and soap. As for using a brush? I'd stick with the sponge, it'll give you a more even application. So stick with the sponge for the Kryolan, then use either a sponge or a foam brush for the PAX.

  • @DemyxIXNobody Weirdly ADORABLE~!

  • I am a guy and I had no idea you girls take forever to cosplay or make up for that matter lol looks awesome btw aaaaand now i want to watch young justice

  • @alhex123 The more you know~! And yessss go watch Young Justice!

  • @MangoSirene I tought you guys order them online or buy at costume shops lol

  • @alhex123 Some people do, but a lot of cosplayers make their costumes on their own. I personally make all of mine, because I love sewing and creating stuff! :D

  • I have a question, my friend wants to cosplay as M'gann and we were looking for a decent wig. I was wondering, where did you get yours from?

  • @iheartmyghei I ordered mine from Taobao, and unfortunately the listing is gone for this particular wig. She should be able to find some suitable ones on eBay though!

  • Nice, loving it!!!

  • Good god, so much effort, I wouldn't have guessed

  • @ReconnectTMC Haha tell me about it! I'm excited to switch to her stealth suit, then I'll only have to deal with painting my face and hands!

  • What store/ web sight would you say is the best to go to/use?

  • @samtoenail I get my Kryolan from CosplaySupplies (they have both a website and a Facebook), and then I get all the Pros-Aide products from FX Warehouse. :)
