I remember trying to shoot Von Glower in this game and he just went apeshit telling Gabriel "No not me!" and Gabriel just remained dazed and confused and back to Von Zell. Ah boo.

Whoa.. Of the many times I've played this, I NEVER would've thought to click the rifle on Baron instead of the wolf! BTW, loved the music at 4:10!

LoL, if only. No, you can't, you can only get Gabe to point the gun at him, beyond that the only thing to do is to kill Von Zell. (Or do nothing and let Von Zell murder you.)

I've never tried this method of forcing him to the ravine, I usually have to push him back many times around the woods to get him there.

I don't understand why they did not use a real wolf/dog for this. Budget? Could not find a menacing yet trained enough animal? It looks really weird with the CGI but not awful. Just strange.

I mean, I know the curse has to be lifted by a Beta. And by this time, Gabe is a Beta, albeit a virgin Beta (no blood tasted) I'll have to read the werewolf book again.

Von Zell's main problem is that he has already tasted human blood, and that's why he'll be killed.

I also think that every Beta that doesn't participate actively in the Alpha's destruction is killed, but that's just karma talking ;P

I'm not sure Von Zell would have been killed, I think nothing would have happened; those who don't taste of human blood will have their soul's saved and be able to enter heaven, those who do will be doomed forever, one assumes.

At first I wondered why you bothered goign all the way around the forest and past the lodge as you did, but then I realised you manage to corner Von Zell much more quickly than I ever do when playing it.

I don't think I'm revealing anything that people haven't figured out by now, so I'll ask this: how come Gabriel just doesn't get it? VG basically tells him everything: "I'm responsible for von Zell." "You look better than [Byron] ever did!" "I must destroy him, with your help of course."

That melodie at 4:05 has never ever left my mind. I used to catch myself humming it at work or school even when I hadn't played that game for years. It's great.

lol I used to be afraid of that song all the time. But especially the werewolf. I know it's cruddy software, but that thing has haunted me for years. I'm afraid of wolves terribly, I hate hearing howling, and certain dogs freak me out to if they remind me of that werewolf.

I like the song which starts out in the video at first...never forgotten that song since I was 5-6...yep, that's when I watched this game and learned about it.

It's a great theme. It plays, in one form or another, in all of the Gabriel Knight games. It plays when Wolfgang Ritter shows up in Sins of the Fathers and again in the Hounfour during the confrontation with Tetelo, and in Gabriel Knight 3, it plays when Montreaux summons the demon. Great music, that.

I wonder...Is it possible to shoot and kill Von Glower at this point?...In that way you would finish the game one chapter earlier, wouldn't you?;)

Hmm. I wonder if they ever made a Gabriel Knight collection, and if it can be made to run on XP, if they did.

Not to respond to my own question, but they did make a set with the first two games in the series. It's been Awhile since it's release, though, and finding a copy might be a bit difficult.

Yar, they had a ton of other collections (King's Quest, Police Quest, Space Quest) listed alongside it, all for under 20 bucks. Absolute ton of gaming for not a whole lot of monies.

Yeah I'm glad I picked them up while they were still available.. some of them are quite expensive on eBay.

Amazon actually still has a few of them (Space, Police, and King's Quest) for their retail prices...for now, anyway. :D

Those are the new, inferior collections they put out not too long ago.

The reason they're not as good as the old collections is - they don't include all the games. For instance, the new Larry collection does not have Larry 7 (or Larry Casino).

None of the new collections have the original AGI versions of the first games in the series either.. only the VGA remakes.

The older collections include all of that.

PC. You should check it out, I highly recommend it. It's one of my all time favourite games, mainly due to the awesome storyline.
