I'm disappointed they didn't touch on nationalism. That to me is the most dangerous. I've toured the US and Europe - and I can say from first hand experience that aside from language, Western culture is, in fact all cultures are, pretty homogeneous. The French do bathe, the British aren't snobs, Germans aren't mean, Americans aren't all crazy. Just like genetics, there's more difference within a population than between populations. That's what's most important to remember.

As for poverty... There are 50 million poor in america and 1 in 40 are in the prison system. This represents a major strain on the US econoly. In China its different. @Zohmthar We have the highest standard of living of any country in the world. Our POVERTY line is well above the average wage of the rest of the world. The problems stem from the ABSENCE of capitalism, and the rise of statism. Think of it this way; Moses wrote the Torah by candle light... 3000 years later the declaration of independence was WRITTEN BY CANDLE LIGHT. Barely a century later CAPITALISM had created electric light, cross country instantaneous communication, and AIRPLANES.

I'm not saying that the Communist countries didn't/don't do poorly.
Although none of the systems have been implemented as they were supposed to be.
Nationalism is the problem here.
The Nazis were very Nationalistic.
They also had a huge economic boost before their Nationalism was their downfall.
