I'm surprised he can still hit notes that high after all these years... not the same as when Sanctuary was in their prime, but not too bad either. I'll have to admit though it is a bit painful watching him try and get his voice that high again.

@lesterawilson3 ok guys, this is Dave the drummer of Sanctuary, Warrel is a great singer and yes he did struggle on this show. He played 2 shows every other day on on this cruise. He also was not warmed up yet with the band. We played great shows in Greece, watch some other footage and you will see he does great. Of course he can't sing as good as back in the day but who can! Either way thanks for being fans and we know we can't please everyone.

His high-pitched screams are part of history now. I think he should avoid attempting singing like this in upcoming Sanctuary studio album.

This is just not good at all. Ordinary singing is good as always, but screaming parts are disaster.

@WishmasterTheDark Wrong. The fact that he needs to warm up his high pitched screams does not show either that they are history, or that he should not attempt them on a new album. Its simply false that high pitch screams are not used anymore. I dont know what kind of metal you listen to, but I high pitch screaming is still widely used in metal today.

Its good to see sanctuary back in action again, but warrel's voice is not what it used to be. But that's to be expected i still love the music its still badass, i wonder how the new album is gonna sound like

...And to all the whiny bitches complaining about Warrel's voice, seriously lighten up! Yes, obviously his high notes aren't as good or clean as they used to be, but he's an old man for christ's sakes! It's amazing he can still hit them at all!

@Hecatombmi- Hear, hear. Warrel's got an incredible voice, arguably one of the best I've ever hear. I read in an interview that WD re-took vocal lessons to get his higher register back now that Sanctuary is reuniting. I'm looking forward to the end result :)

I really love Sanctuary and I really love Warrel Dane (I can't describe you how much!) and I am way more into Sanctuary than Nevermore too, but guys please... Are you Deaf? He is dying up there! He CAN'T hit the high notes! Τhese Are NOT high notes, these are unregulated screams! He can't even sing decently! Get real please... Τhis is so dissapointing!

There's a huge difference between losing your high end, and not being able to sing. This is a pretty shitty performace all around, but the guy can sing. As for the disapointment in his high notes, I'm hoping it's just because it's so earlier in their reformation... Because this won't do..

@AkisDoom I agree with you 100%. I can't wait for their show in Athens, but I'm certain he will not meet people's expectations. Which in NOT to say, we will not enjoy it. People have been waiting for this show for 20 years. But it will not be because of the band's performance. It will be a "wet dream" come true, years and years of longing. My expectations are minimal, sadly.

It sounds nothing like the old warrel. He has a fantastic full voice though.

I'm still a little iffy on Sanctuary doing a new album. He can hit the high notes still, but live, they aren't coming out so good, but I totally get that might be just due to it being a live recording versus a studio recording. So hopefully he will pull threw for us on the new album, if they can do it without Loomis.

@arise212 No, he can't. This performance is nothing compared to the studio version... He's one of my best singers, but he can't hit a single high note right (he's sometimes out of tune) and if he does eventually, he sounds like a dying cat.. It's sad, but it's the truth. His voice on refuge denied was something so amazing, but he obviously injured his vocal during the making of this album beacuse after that he wasn't the same anymore.
