a FAIR Lost Planet 2 Review

I thought they needed thermal energy to power machines, that's why they needed it in the desert. And I enjoyed the story, but alot of my friends didn't follow.. So yeah, this is a rather fair review. This is the video I will refer to when I recommend this game to friends, instead of "IGN REVIEWS SAID ITS BAD?! OH ITS BAD ALRIGHT!"

I loved this game the only down side was it was shortabd no carpet bagger chapter and the second boss fight was annoying don't go inside of it keep blowing off it's legs with a vs suit works every time

i think the use of thermal energy in a desert isnt to keep you warm but to keep your harmonizer in top condition.

This review is a bit better than the IGN ones, but you still stress a lot about dying from poor game design instead of skill. I can tell you, the deaths are from poor skill not game design. I can go through that train part on Extreme without dying once. You and the IGN show yourselves doing dumb things like running right into the middle of a group of enemies and then complaining you die. Maybe you can do that on easy Call of Duty games, but not a real game like this.

I don't understand... The gameplay gets a 6 which is above average... From your review it makes it sound like the game stands up there with the halo and cod series, neither of which I am the biggest fan of, but still.

It's a really fun, fresh game. And the patches fix most of the knockdown problems and lack of checkpoints.

Yeah, a mode where you fight hordes of Akrid on different maps would rock, like GoW horde or RE5 Mercenaries.

I think a good multiplayer mode would be a railway gun fight, like from the 3-3 mission. One team has a gun on one side of the track, and the others on the other side. Although might be a endless fight with the healing...

Yeah, there are a lot of players on PSN. I'm not sure about XBL.

Most of the games I joined are either big battles with VS or sniper-only battles.

There's also a bot match under training, to practice deathmatch and CTF.

wish they hade a mode where you and 3 teamates guards a tower or castel wall (various forts etc) and you defend it from a wave of akrid, the more you kill the harder it gets. i'd love to have that in lost planet

I think the Gameplay should've been a 7 at least. I mean this game is really fun, me and my friend rented it and played for like 2 days straight, then I had to go or we wouldv'e played longer.

I got this and immediately wanted to return but then i tried the coop and similar to borderlands it sux without coop but u can create a match where u have ur progress and ppl join in so u wont have to play mixed u play in ur order

the knock back is realistic but u staying to close to the akrid and u need to shoot one of the arms when he loads a super attack

@DarkKnight1326 its almost unheard of for someone playing solo entirely. usually, they do online campaign, which has the same effect. besides, there IS local co-op, they didnt make this single player only.

@vibrotwanger true, i love it, but i havent gotten past that huge ass red eye akrid in the desert level 3-3, now that thing is epic. but it is HARD to do, the game doesnt give you any sort of direction, and i can barly understand how to use the railway gun.

@Kaotiikandchaosstorm I actually dont own this game and iam thinking about to get it. But if the KI is really that bad, how can you finish this game without coop ? The coop campaign vanish´s over the time while the game gets older. And this game is already pretty old, thats why more people finished the story and less people are avaible for a coop. So how can you compensate the teamwork when you play with the KI as your team ? Does it even payoff to play the campaign nowadays ?

@RuLeZ1988 I, personally, feel it has tons of replayability. Playing chapters with friends who never beat it is always tons of fun, replaying boss battles, leveling up characters, trying to beat the game on Hard, using different abilities and different play styles. Idk, I don't find the cooperative play to decade whatsoever. Ive beaten the campaign a few times and still don't mind playing it. Cutscenes are entertaining too.

@LPwarrior1 isnt alcohol a helluva drug? lol.. anyway, yeah still a great game despite its issues, i try to be fair in all my reviews, i know alot of other reviewers miss the mark pretty wildly on reviews.. this game in particular got 5's and 6's from everyone for minor issues, stupid to do that to a game that is still alot of fun to play

Why do reviewers say incorrect things about games? I mean seriously! Gamespot gave this game a 5.5 (abysmal) saying that the graphics were all right and that multiplayer brought nothing new to the table other than the small addition of the factions battling. Things like that make me think the train level is reasonable.

@LPwarrior1 not exactly sure what your point is.. but the train level isnt half bad in and of itself, its the fact that the knockback animation kills you more than anything during it

A patch was released not too long ago that not only tweaked certain functions (running, capturing, etc.), but also added a checkpoint system. I can agree with the problems you brought in your review (I, too, would've loved the multiplayer to be more akrid influenced.). overall, a good review. It's nice to see somebody's out there who isn't bashing the game for all the wrong reasons.

If T-ENG is used to power VSs, weapons and it heals you, why is it strange you need it in a desert enviorment?

@0HyperChad0 Thermal energy  is Energy Derived from Heat, and in case you were unaware.. The desert is already hot... lol

i understand why its required to the game, i mean if just that level had a differnt gameplay mechanic it would be a little wonky anyway, it was just something where i was like "huh?"

It's just because T-ENG is a substance derived from pure heat. It can be used as a fuel, but Hot air can't. It' can't really sustain anything.

dude this game was the biggest waste of 60 dollars. laggy online. the campaign is good for the most part it just sucks you cant just hop on the game of someone if you havent beaten the chapter. the graphics are nice but the online is just HORRIBLE like really the worst online gameplay i have ever played
