  • When i think of WotLK all i can ever remember is dying several times to the blood wing trash

  • This music is sooo relaxing...

  • loved this piece in the raid.

  • thumb up if you think queen lana'thel is sexy :3

  • 3:35 onwards is like a sirens song its amazing

  • I enjoy how in Wotlk they made music for each section of the raid instead of an overall theme, but every Cata raid I hear the twilight hammer theme repeated constantly.

  • When Lament of the Highborne started I got goosebumps.

  • Why are people saying they miss wrath? the content is still there y'know...

  • Best area in ICC! I love the music, the fights and the vibe. I miss you Wrath =( Dear god.....here come the pandas......NO, NOT THE PANDAS!

  • Probably the most haunting yet beautiful music in WoW.

  • ahhh blood elves...

  • true we need more biches in wow.

  • @Cabraksys Kael'thas coming back would be the savior of cataclysm.

  • best part 3:18 !!!

  • Trash in that wing sucked horribly...(no vampire pun intended) Loved the fight though. Lana'thel was a bitch and she was fun as hell to kill!

  • they snuck lament of the highborne in this? wtf...

  • tbh im in no way a twilight fan but vampires really havent played a big enough role in such a humungous mmo like wow...

  • @kwackypoop The Nathrezim, (dreadlords), are vampires of the burning legion.

  • @kwackypoop You know, vampires where around way before twilight and don't have to be the vampires of twilight :/

  • I love how they worked Lament of the Highborne into this. A nice nostalgic nod to the plight of the Sin'dorei. Glory to Quel'Thalas!!

  • @rcarass1 Sadly I had always turned the music off... but yes, I got chills when I first noticed the "Lament of the Highborne" in the background. It was just so... appropriate.

  • 0.00 to 3.05mins, Just such beautiful music, I loved that about wiping alot aganist the Blood council & Lana'thel

  • can someone help me? :D i just wanna know, can like, 5 good geared 85's do this on lowest difficulty? :D

  • @coolcrazyman yes you can do 10 man version easily (1 heal 4 dps), you will need watch vampyric bite though

  • very resident evil sounding

  • So much wasted lore they chouldve prolonged the WoTLK expansion with tons more stuff but i guess they just wanted to get it over with to start cata :(

  • Quel'delar was Lana'thel's sword.

  • @EpicHatMan no.

  • @loyaltodeath Maybe not her own, it was used in many generations, but she found it one time and wanted to use it for vengeance.

  • @Cabraksys LOL

  • my cup runneth over and i need someone to clean op the spill

  • It is funny in all honesty, as much as people complained Raids in wrath were too easy. The trash mobs in Crimson Hall are harder than the first 2 bosses in Blackwing Decent/Bastion of Twilight.

  • @FrozenChozin Yes, your point? BLW and BoT are entry tier raids, ICC is the ending tier. You should compare those to say, Naxx25. So theres really no excuse. However if theres anything I can compliment WotLK for it's the music, improved questing, and Ulduar.

But WotLK's raids was undoubtly easier then any expansions.

And I expect pretty soon Cataclysm will be just as easy if not more easier, but as it currently stands Cataclysm is still more difficult

  • This raid was almost too badass. Perhaps many players dissagree with me but I did love the Wotlk expansion. Icc, Ulduar, Naxx. Most of the raids was rather enjoying and an awesome athmosphere, at least Uld and icc!

  • @Windius ohhh no disagreement here, i loved it too! it was just so epic

  • @Windius

    I bet u didnt raid BC/vanilla : >

  • @Windius best expansion so far in my opinion. Cata is just crap for lowbobs ... everything is so fuckin easy. Content clear after two weaks ... wth?! Just boring! We need some bosses for hardmodes ONLY like Sinestra, only in some awesome hardmodes.

If nHC is do difficult for some noobs they cry for some low shit and cata is the answer to that =/. Hm in cata is like nHC in wotlk =(

  • @Windius As someone who started raiding during the beginning of wotlk, naxx had that awesome atmosphere as well. I still get nostalgic about it.

  • FOR THE HORDE!!!

  • whenever u hear blood elf music

be prepared it will always be a setback

  • I can listen to this for hours, Crimson Halls was my favorite for so many reason and the music was one of them.

    FOR THE HORDE!

  • f*ck. it ended. replay button ftw.

  • Sweet music

  • I on nom nom these darkfallen ;)

  • Hm. Sounds quite like the Blood Elf music. Never made this far in ICC, so I'm going to assume that there's a blood elf boss or something.

  • @wkunzelman1 Ah. Did my research. It's apparently the darkfallen.

  • @wkunzelman1 You're technically right. The darkfallen *were* Blood Elves, when they were alive they were the soldiers that went to Northrend with Kael and Illidan. They all got pwned and Arthas rezzed the lot of them and turned them into vampires. Crimson Hall is their HQ in the citadel, and you fight the three Blood Princes (from earlier 5 mans, except Valanar who bit it in a group quest in BT), then Blood Queen Lana'thel.

  • long live my lv 85 dk

  • @bisweekend

I hope you know Death Knight's are the second easiest class, topped only by Paladins.

    That's not even a feat.

  • @Droxxin No, it's hunters. I've played all classes a considerable amount (If not leveling, I tried on PTR) and out of all of them I'd say paladin is the third, Dk is 2nd and hunter is the easiest. Mostly because Paladin tanking got harder, as did DPS and healing in cataclysm.

  • @LuckyPalms

    1) Roll Prot Paladin

    2) Get Avenger's Shield, a chaining, dazing, interrupting spell that hits for 10-12kish

    3) Win at PvP and threat

  • @Droxxin

    1) I am a prot paladin.

    2) Hunters are still easier.

    3) 12k isnt much at all considering a 150k health pool.

  • @LuckyPalms

You really think hunters are easy to play? I mean hunters need to cast more than just one spell to win on top of being super squishy. Pallys are retarded OP in pvp while hunters are one of the worst pvp classes. l2facts

  • @22Lonewolf77 I was talking PVE, and if we're thinking PVP it's a completely different matter. I never PVP on my paladin, it's not fun. Hunters are pretty tough to kite with, even with dazed shot.

  • @22Lonewolf77 You must really be quite a suck-up (or a troll) if you think hunter is "one of the worst pvp classes" :s I've been playing hunter since end of tbc, recently got my paladin to 85 (mainly to try out tanking). Hunter is a gazillion times better (not easier) at sacking kills than a ret / prot because of their neat tools. A ret / prot is more simple to play, sure, but that also means that they're simple to lock down and beat.

Why were you discussing this at a soundtrack vid anyway?

  • @22Lonewolf77 You mean HOLY paladins are OP, rets are not fun nor efficient to play anymore.

  • @LuckyPalms I'm a prot pali as well as a hunter, and it's all what you prefer imo but hunters are by far harder to play then palis.

  • @Droxxin Death Knights are the easiest, they start at lvl 55

  • BLOOD WILL FLOW!

  • i love this song. Simple as that.

  • DINNER IS SERVED!

  • ICC isn't good because most of the bosses don't have any lore to them, they needed backgrounds which would make them a lot better.

  • @DralosVos No thats not really the problem, the problem is the fights were just too easy except heroic LK.

  • 3:16, and throughout the song(and other blood elf-like songs) what the hell is that chime? its fucking atmospheric awesomeness.

  • @Pyrofreak321

That chime is the "Lament of the Highborne." It's the song Sylvanas sings when you hand her the locket that was a gift from her sister from that one quest in the ghostlands. You can also hear that similar tune in the belf starting area.

  • Blizz knows how to make someone crush on their characters. =A=

Seriously, I absolutely love Lana'thel and Sylvanas! Their positively amazing. For the Blood Queen, for the Dark Lady~ <3

  • Is there anywhere i can download the music from the whole icc raid? x

  • Lady Sylvanas Windrunner!!! For The Forsaken!!! ....WTF Blood Queen??? o.O

  • I wish Lana'thel would play an even bigger role in Warcraft, i just cant stop thinking about it. I mean she is a flying blood hungry vampire with mutated wings and and a black heart, sooo who doesnt like her?

  • @Golarath59 i dont. shat ap

  • @Golarath59 Edward cullen?

  • @Golarath59 I thought so too! She had the potential to make a fantastic female antagonist. WoW has yet to have one. But no, Blizz had to be dumb.

  • @AdIgnorantiam Sylvie is going in that direction.

  • @AdIgnorantiam There are plenty of Female antagonists. Onyxia, Lady Vashj, Slyvanas. :)

  • @AdIgnorantiam Ony was, she fooled everyone in SW even Bolvar.

  • @rdpeach I'm talking more of a female expansion antagonist. Azshara FTW!

  • @Golarath59 i like her

  • Listening to this made me remember how awesome I thought ICC was 8 months ago...

  • Doesn't Sylvanas sing this when you turn in a quest from the Ghostlands? You found a necklace or something that is from her? I mean at 3:20

  • @Tiessiet Yeah Sylvanas sings this when you return to her Alleria's necklace. I think its the Blood Queen singing it though

  • @DarkMagus1985 Because all undead high elves can apparently sing really well xD

  • @Xehanor Seems like it! =)

  • 1 guy let his cup runneth over.

  • Was Sylvannas turned into a banshee in this chamber or something?

  • @Supermassively na sylvanas was raised as a banshee at the sunweel dead scar area. this is where the queen of the vampyr lives, Blood Queen Lanathel.

  • at 3:20 and forward im getting goosebumps all over my arms when i hear her sing...

  • @Mehoozhi Oh man, me too! Her voice is so chillingly divine~

  • This is one very sad song.

  • Gawd, like this if you fucking hate these trash pulls.

  • @EverSilent1

the trash was harder than the boss

  • Let me clear this up for you people..., The San'layn are undead blood elves, commonly referred to as Darkfallen, These blood elves fought alongside Kael'thas and Illidan when Illidan was sent to destroy the frozen throne. Now they're dead, got it good :D. The blood elf music is playing because that's what the San'layn were in life, Blood elves. Onto Sylvanas, I don't see how anyone can hate Sylvanas... When she said she had no love for her people, she was bluffing, Read the Drakhan quest...

  • Always enjoyed Blood Elf/Sunwell music. Annoying race though.

  • @DanielSmith604 I wish they were all vampyres like the ones in Icecrown.

  • Does anyone else feel awful for the San'Layn? Cursed and damned as vampires for eternity just for following Kael'Thas' orders... :(

  • @kelthanius Actually yes i feel awful cause they wanted to stop Arthas but in the end they got something worse than death. To serve against their own will the very enemy they wanted to kill for almost wiping their race.Blood elves are my favorite race in WoW <3

  • @kelthanius well these ones were probebly resurrected from the assault on the sunwell, so Kael'thas didn't really go crazy till much later. At that time they were merely high elves defending their home land.

  • I hear whispers in the later half of the song, someone slow it down and play it in reverse.

  • ICECROWN WAS MERELY A SETBACK!

  • @HirachieOfSociety i can imagine Deathwing saying that><;;;

  • BLOOD WILL FLOW!

  • 3:18 to 4:10 is so beautiful. I love the tune of Lament of the Highborne paired with the music of Silvermoon. This part actually played when my guild did Blood Queen this week and it was a great counterpoint to all the chaos of healing that fight.

  • Blood Omen 2 from 0:00 - 1:00 anyone?

  • @SoraRikuKairiKH3 I think blizz got the Darkfallen male face from Blood omen

  • @SoraRikuKairiKH3 wich means if they look ugl now they will get uglier when you get them mad

  • WERE YOU EVER A THREAT?

  • This same music plays near the end of Forge of Souls.

    =/

  • <3 this part

  • Probably the only scary part in ICC. Crimson Hall always gives me the shivers. The other bosses even Sindragosa doesn't exactly scare me.

  • Comment removed

  • such cool sounds in the beginning.

  • 2:04-3:05 would have made great night music for Silvermoon City.

  • @Xivix427 Agreed.

  • originally i really respected lament of the highborne as sylvanaas' special song for that one quest, but they remix it for EEEEVVEERRYYYTHHIIINNGG involving the blood elves.

  • Gosh, this "version" of the lament made me cry - its so depressing, a must have on my ipod - the original version is only really sad

  • Kael'Thas still has one more orb left meaning he'll come back once more, after that he is gone for good, kind of like the black knight, kael'thas will come back in ghost form

  • @archxnight The Verdant sphere diddint go because they are like Soulstones; In Tempest Keep, The quest for killing Kael was to bring back the Verdant sphere from his body, And he was still Alive, Even after so called "Death" according to lore, In Magister's terrace, He actualy -Died- And was -Beheaded-; No coming back for him.

  • @Demonkitsun Death never ment that a caracter isn't comming back. After all, High General Abbendis, Anub'arak, and Arugal have came back before. Granted, one was probably a mistake of sorts, and the other two were rezzed. But who knows? Maybe the Burning Legion will mess around and bring Kael back in some rediculous way.

  • @cellron09 Legion rezzing Kael wouldent make much sense, He failed them, Only Supreme, Very powerful people would get second chances, I.E. Illidan, Anub'arak was Re-Made, as all scourge creatures can, Patchwerk has been reconstructed many times, Arugal was raised with Necromancy, Which the legion does not use anymore, If at all, Very -Very- Little, And Abbendis was a Personal friend of the -Ashbringer-, Light can save souls that cling to their bodies and retain their purpose, Kael is outa luck.

  • Well.. just to give a constructive and intelligent reply: The reason there is blood elf music in this hall, is simply because the Darkfallen - the mobs in this hall - are formerly blood elves that were bested during Arthas' return to Icecrown, when he was assaulted by Illidan and his forces. Blood elves - lament of the highborne - the rest is easy math :)

  • OK wait?!!?? 0_o why is there blood elf music in Icecrown?? weren't the bloodelfs sworn enemies of the Lich King? I mean they marched on icecrown together with Illidan and the naga in TFT.. I don't get this? oh and I stopped playing WoW when WOTLK came out so no reason to start calling me a newb and shit like that! thx for a constructive and intelligent reply.

  • @Boromir26 FKING NOOB U DOESNT KNO ENYTING ABUET WOW!!!!!!!!

  • @LotharStudios I said thanks for a constructive and INTELIGENT reply you shithead!! your answere is none of the above. Before you go online and troll learn to spell in you own damn language you damn retard!! and not to mention that my comment was a question!!!!and people ask questions when they need answers you fucking idiot!!!! go and fucking die you cock sucking inbred!!!! I fucking hate you trolls. and as a matter of fact the blood elves did fight arthas in TFT dickwad!!!!

  • @Boromir26 LOL U SCUKE

  • @LotharStudios I SCUKE???? is that the best you got pal?? LOL keep on trollin'

  • @Boromir26 i see why you are mad, but you have to consider the age of LothatStudios

  • @Boromir26 You fed a troll, And there are more then enough answers on this page, But remember -Drives sign into the ground- "Do -NOT- Feed the Trolls Damnit!"

  • @LotharStudios he just asked a question...

  • @LotharStudios

English isn't your strong suit, is it?

  • @Boromir26 No the lichking took over the some of blood elfs and binded them to his will

  • @Boromir26

This music plays in the Crimson Hall because every boss here is a blood elf. The vampyres and Blood Queen were former blood elves that the Lich King took control over. This is why Lament of the Highborne plays, because Lady Sylvannas was formerly a blood elf (well, High elf if you wanna get technical).

  • a disappointment

  • MY CUP RUNNETH OVER

  • @Markeyp94 LAst night he spammed that

  • <3 4:18

  • WERE YOU EVER A THREAT?!

  • The Darkfallen orb makes me invincible!

  • This music represents how twisted and corrupt the high elves became though some have still kept most of their humanity.

  • sooo fucking amazing

  • this music was incredibly awesome while fighting in this hall, i dont care that it quotes lament , its awesome!

  • How does blizz get the vocalists for this kind of music must take them forever to find ones these good.

  • damn classic

  • 2:04 Eversong woods and TK remix

  • This music somehow feels so nostalgic.

  • @GrandGetsuga0 It sounds a lot like the music in SMC, which makes sense because they're undead sin'dorei.

  • dammit the sylvanas part always sends friggin shivers up and down my spine

  • When I got here during an ICC raid I thought I heard Sylvanas singing, but wasn't sure, and didn't hear it after anymore so that's why I am here now, and it is confirmed! Sylvanas is part of the music :D

    <3 Sylvanas

  • Comment removed

  • @Deyyhayederaned

ah isee now they also look similar with the clothing and hair xD

  • Sounds like Eversong Forest/Silvermoon City

  • As a pretty devoted Blood Elf fan, the background story for this place got me a lot more pissed at Arthas. And I already hated him quite a bit.

  • @Mjsmecha Can't really lay all the blame on Arthas. He was merely a slave to Ner'zhuls mind control at the time he assaulted the poor elves. I have and always will blame Kil Jaden for the whole damn mess

  • JDtheDrunk, he was never under any mind control. When Arthas lost his soul he hungered for power, and Ner'zhul gave it to give it to him. The only control he was under was the part missing a soul

  • @ransac16 Well I didnt mean entirely. Ner zhul was able to use his increased mental powers to corrupt an already maddening Arthas.

  • @JDtheDrunk but if it's any better, Arthas actually kills Ner'zhul's spirit once they fuse, so he really is the only one controlling the scourge :)

  • @adamt4553 Indeed. Funny in the end how Ner' Zhul's desperation to avoid his own destruction at the hands of Jaeden led him to his own demise anyhow

  • @JDtheDrunk ya, can't say no to irony lol

  • @adamt4553 No, he doesn't. A new Lich king is coronated. Bolvar, the one who went missing at the Wrathgate Assault. And, Ner'zhul is sealed within the Icecrown glacier, not the holmet, nor the sword.

  • For those who ask, yes, some of the Buring Crusade Blood Elf themed music is interwoven into the piece. Blizzard's music guru, who's name eludes me, likes to do this to tie stories together. You can also see this in the login music, which is basically a combination of classic, BC, and Wrath music.

The Blood Elf music, including Lament of the Higbourne is to help link the San'layn to their tragic history.

  • part around 2:10 is kinda like BE starting music....anyone confirm?

  • it its. its based off of it, but a different song

  • A bit unrelated but Blizz has been putting out kickass music for some time. Karazhan still stands as my favourite moodsetting music.

  • Dunno if it's been mentioned, but is that the Lament of the Highbourne sang in the BG around 3:25.

  • 3:16 - 4:12 is so beautiful

  • I can't believe he says the "merely a setback" thing. :P

  • @JaseAndrews

the "merely a setback" why is that so like spoken about and stuff like "in the mountains" XD where does it come from?

  • @CrookyJr: Right, what Deyyhayederaned said. To players, it seemed ridiculous that Kael'thas came back even though we thought we killed him. He says "Don't look so smug...I know what you're thinking, but Tempest Keep was merely a setback." Players used the "merely a setback" to poke fun at Blizzard for bringing back Kael'thas from the dead just for an instance. They're basically making fun of the whole Kael'thas incident.

  • I love how blizzard have incorporated some blood elf music into this piece. It sounds eerie, I especially like the singing part, it adds sadness into it.

Please, if anybody knows, can they tell me how the blood elves became undead in the first place? Thanks :)
