THESE PEOPLE ARE FANTASTIC AND THERE SHOULD & ARE MANY MORE LIKE THEM !!!

    FANTASTIC STUFF :)))

  • It is a Kaba Gajda. Kaba Gajda's are similar to the Macedonian one but have a reverse conical bore chanter. Macedonian ones are cylindrical. and the standard buglarian one has a standard conical bore chanter. But it is obvious that the bulgarians did not use the bagpipes until upon their arrival to the balkans from central asia. Thanks to the Macedonians!!

  • Ha-ha-ha!!!

  • the guy said this is the kaba Gajda from southern Bulgaria...

  • And your point is?

  • Yes it is Macedonian Gajda!

    LONG LIVE MACEDONIA!!!

  • I'm really glad that there are Australians interested in Macedonian music, but from that i was able to understand from what the girl was singing on the end of the video, that last melody was in Albanian.

  • it looks like a djura gaida but sounds like a rhodope gaida, it's not a macedonian bagpipe, the macedonian gaida both looks and sounds different

  • Што ти е па на тебе гајле за Македонија,кога си бугарски помак?

  • You mean Bulgarian bagpipe!? Right! :)

  • I really don't care for your delusions of grandeur.

The musicians in this clip regard the Macedonian and Bulgarian bagpipes as being different from one another.

Warning: All silly and provocative posts will be deleted, and the offensive users will be blocked.

  • Right! Peace!

  • Nobody asked you for your opinion, so you need not offer one. You are obviously tone deaf and not an expert on Balkan music.

These Anglo-Australian musicians provide an impartial outsiders perspective on Balkan music. As such they differentiate between Macedonian and Bulgarian music.

The bagpipe player regards the Macedonian and Bulgarian bagpipes as being different from one another. He has one of each in his collection.

  • I don't now whether anyone of us is tone deaf but we are from the balkans and we now more about our culture than anyone else especially those anglo-australian musicians. We know and something more about the macedonians but the extra information could overload your brain.

  • I doubt that you know your folklore as well as you think. Have you ever seen the Bulgarian documentary "Whose Is This Song?" The writer/director Adela Peeva, who is Bulgarian, argues the view contrary to your own in that documentary. By investigating the origins of one popular Balkan folk song Peeva demonstrates that many Balkan people are quite ignorant, if not deluded, about their culture and folklore. I have uploaded the last 4 minutes of that documentary on my channel. Help yourself.

  • Adela Peeva reinforces my point that impartial music aficionados from the outside are fairer judges of Balkan music than penny-pinching nationalists with delusions of grandeur and a sense of racial superiority over their neighbours.

  • That is your opinion, which does not surprise me as most Bulgarians are conditioned to think that way from a very young age.

You need to come to terms with the fact that the rest of the world does not support your Bulgarian theory about the Macedonians. The sooner you do so the easier it will be for you to get along with your neighbours.

  • Your current policy of open confrontation with ethnic Macedonians is not sustainable in the long term, especially when your beef is about their right to self-identification.

Self-identification triumphed as an inalienable human right after the defeat of the Nazis (including Bulgarian Nazis) in WWII. "Inalienable" means that right cannot be compromised by copyright laws or "history" textbooks written by corrupt government agencies.

  • Both the Byzantine and the Bulgarian monarchies were "governments without a nation," to use Finlay's happy phrase.

  • Very very well said,Makgirl!

That's exactly how it was,and in the 19 century we suddenly see all these "national awakenings",staged nations baked by the west, little statelets easy to manipulate and fight for the interests of the western countries that helped to create them.

  • I agree with you...

  • thanks for uploading !
