it's true that days are numbers? definetely it's very true and see by yourself once u wanna count them as numbers dates also minutes hours and seconds we could say the numbers orally and write them all along the ways so that regards to all
Truly magical and beautiful words. "Days are numbered watch the stars" - so true that all the more reason to love and embrace each moment we have. Wonderful song.
I often wonder where all my friends I have been lucky to know through this travelling life of mine, have gone. There is something in us that brings like people together. And apart. On we go and then we meet again, or not? Are we sometimes as close as two comments side by side on APP songs on Youtube, and don't know it as we present ourselves behind our screen names? Where are you all man. Kerry Emmerson New Zealander livin in California..
I'm 56 years old and still I don't know what I want to do with my life.....I'm just enjoying the journey....wherever it takes me. I know one thing, Music takes me to places that reality can't. Listening to songs like this make me gratefull for living through the 70s and 80s.
one of my favorite songs. I need to build a sailboat too. I've have a few over the years and they have given me so much peace. Alan knows what soothes our spirits, what gives us strength, and what keeps us going for another day. The Alan Parsons Project is years ahead of its time. The songs, lyrics...they are deeper than we know, we merely need to absorb them and apply them-helluva guide for life I think...may be twisted but those of you who have followed them for years know what I mean.
when i was 14-21 i wanted to travel the world in a yacht with 2 other companions. i am not rich so this wasn't a possibility thanks for the possibility to dream again, even if ludicrous dreams
@frodobaggins8 I built mine for almost nothing. All ther wood and hardware, including mast and sails, are all from boats people dumped in the tidal zones around here, and with a bit, no, a lot, of mud and sweat I reclaimed every piece of wood in her. All I pay for is epoxy and some paint, the odd fastener, and the beer.
How did I miss this song after all these years? Perhaps I didn't but could not hear it. It is about me. Damn it, how did Alan know about me here and now, then? I'm 48, I have almost finished building my sailboat,(looking for a name for her), and I don't know where I am going .Never have, yet I am still here. Another time, and place, but still here.
@Baritone45 No I am still in a state of unnamedness. Perhaps Endeavour. After Captain Cooks ship. Or another favourite is Further, after Ken Keseys bus, Further, that cruised across America with the Merry Pranksters on an acid testing experimental extrvaganza in the 60s
The guy is a genius. I wonder if many people know how popular he is throughout the world. He appears in just about every country to sellout crowds. From "Tales" to "Path, all fourteen albums are of the highest quality. Alan, I hope you are working on the next one. I wish everyone could catch him in concert.
Yes, Eric HAS passed, BUT Alan has done his last 4 albums WITHOUT Eric. He is still performing to very large audiences with his Alan Parsons Live band that includes, John Montagna, Steve Murphy, P.J. Olson, Godfrey Townsend, and Manny Forcanszo. The have ALL ages in the crowd and by the time they do "Sirius", the place is going wild. I would recommend you go to his web site and you will see he is doing a tour in Russia in the near future.
@burnabybrent Hey come on friends. There is no need to taint this work with comments like this. Sometimes our egos are put before all else and it is difficult to overcome. I know, I am guilty of similar. But I can always, TRY.
perfect song for a vacation.time to travel.........reminds me of hot summer nights in vancouver.kick back with a coffee and ponder whats new for tomorrow.
"The traveller in me is close behind." Another masterpiece that once again proves it -- pop matters. This has been true since the Beatles, why don't some people still get it?
I love APP, and this is a favorite. I've got all their original albums/cds, and there are many favorites! I can apply APP's music and lyrics to my own, personal situations, both, directly and ironically, allowing me to "escape" into my own little world. It's wonderful, timeless material, and it's great to see and hear it on youtube. Thanks! :-)
I like this song, I've been travelling all my life. The greatness of The Alan Parsons Project is that you find so many beautiful lyrics, so many great singers and such a wonderful music!
