  • Hey guys I want a camcorder 2 start making videos for YouTube but I need 1 that has a mic but I'm sort of on the cheap side any suggestions

  • this camera sux ! listen i have this camcorder and after 4 months of uploading it stoped ! im trying 2 upload my videos 2 my computer i plug in my compact power adapter andit doesnt work and got a new compact power adapter and still doesn work reply is you can help

  • @jcjuve dude same here i cant upload my pictures

  • sony is the best

  • does it have any thing even like time laps

  • xoes it have 37 mm thread on it?

  • My Sony DCR HC52 have 40x optico =)

    And Mini DV

  • Is it compatible with mac?

And which format is it? is it .MOD? I hope not.

  • ya it is in .MOD ... It cost like 400€ and its a shit camcorder don't buy it... buy a panasonic or sony.

  • I have this camera. ( well, I actually have the FS10 with only 8gb internal storage, but nothing else is different. So where else are you going to get such clean storage (no noise from hard drive), an external microphone input, and a slot for sd card storage all in one camera with 48 zoom, good low light capacity and image stability? Nowhere else; not out of Sony (besides which Sony is stuck in their priority issues which we all should be boycotting anyway).

  • @menderfire9 alrite this is going to proabley sound dumb but how do u charge it and how can u tell if its charging i bought mine off a friend he gave me a usb cable and a power adapter will that charge it do they both need to be pluged up lol plz ansher

  • hf20 is much btter

  • why?

  • lol

  • Try to record on an internal HDD while the cam is strongly vibrating and you will see it stop recording, unlike a flash memory based one (which is also working during physical shocks). I'm not sure if it's e.g. possible to record a rollercoaster ride on a HDD-cam.

  • It doesn't have an internal hard drive you idiot, it has internal flash memory.

CompUSA sucks! He doesn't even know about the camera!

  • You should scroll back in the comments to about 9 months ago :)

I said the exact same thing as you and there was actually a moron who disagreed with me and started an argument about this camera having a hard drive :P

  • Well it does have built in storage, but it's internal flash memory, not a hard drive. 16gb internal flash memory. The FS line is flash memory based, I know, I have an FS100. These guys need to do research before they speak and make asses out of themselves.

  • whats the difference between this and the new fs100?

  • wait for the new fs 200

  • Ha ha! He sang on Aha. Take on me:-)

  • maybe people just mistake the "internal flash memory" for the "hard disk drive" this camera has the internal flash, i think its similar to the hard disk drive that's why people think this camera is also an HDD. i think its just the same. internal flash is "internal" after all. and the HDD is also inside the camcorder, so it's also internal.

  • i have that camera i love it so much!!

  • hey i am replying on my own comment but my camera does not have enternal storage plzzzzzzzzzzz help me

  • Do you have an FS100? Those don't have any internal storage. Only FS10 and FS11.

  • Is this in HD?

  • This guy doesn't know his sh*t....

The FS series from Canon are all Flash memory cameras, not hard drives. BIG DIFFERENCE. Flash memory is solid state, meaning no moving parts. This means less battery consumption and less chance of damage with knocks and drops, etc.

The FS100, 10 and 11 are all identical except for external color, and more importantly onboard flash memory. The FS100 has none and relies completely on SDHC cards, the FS10 has 8GB internal flash, the FS11 has 16GB.

  • So is it HD or not?

  • No. SD

  • do you know the difference between HHD and solid state flash memory ??

  • excellent pick up man, do you know a lot about camcorders then??

  • HI there , i sent u several comments, can please help I am debating on the hg 10 or fs 11 flash, I want something with great quality and hd but slao somewhat easy to transfer to my comoputer. I have a computer were I can burn dvd but i heard that tge hg10 is difficult to convert into dvd, you have to go to 2 or 3 other file before you burn it. I need it for school play (low LIghting) also my sons football games Which one you recommend! :-)

  • Question: I want to use a y-male adapter in the 3.5 mm mic jack so that I can hook up 2 lapel microphones. Is that possible? Thanks.

  • Great overview. I like the camera. I don't know why but some reason it took forever to load your video.

  • ok so jw but is there like a pause button on it like while ur filming u can just pause it right on the camera?????....plz reply to me!!!:)

  • Buddy, it does not have built in hard drive. It's flash memory. Get your facts straight before you do review.

  • Sorry to say springzor...Actually this one DOES have the built in hard drive with the optional flash memory. You're thinking of the FS100 that is ONLY flash memory.

  • I am sorry to dissapoint, but you don't come across very intelligent when you try to correct someone without doing your homework first. Go ahead and look on the canon website and view the product specifications. You will see the following:

    "Recording Media

Internal Flash Memory (16GB) or SD/SDHC Memory Card"

  • I've seen several other reviews from camera experts that say it is a HDD hybrid camera.

  • Only flash memory. No Hard drive.

  • god, why do people just leave these retarded comments without even doing some research :P

At least there's one here who knows what he's talking about (wirenut) \o/

  • I did my research. I read several reviews from camera experts. Even some of the reviewers at newegg said it was an HDD camera.

  • Yeah, HDD means Hard Disk Drive. This camera does NOT have a hard disk drive. It uses Flash Memory, no moving parts.

Reviewer has bad information and/or is ignorant and didn't read anything about the camera before picking it up

  • rediculous

  • @xxwalkamongusxx

    The FS11 has a 16gb hard drive

  • can it hold a different lens???

  • hi, i have a question, where is the difference between this camera and the canon fs10, are they quite the same or arent they, thx for response

  • Canon FS11: 16gb internal flash memory

Canon FS10: 8gb internal flash memory

Canon FS100: no internal flash memory

All take SD chips up to 16gb.

As far as I can tell, all specs are the same except for internal flash memory capacity.

  • thx

  • IS IT MAC COMPATIBLE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Yeah! its MPEG-2 thank god

  • Yes!

  • Just ordered it. Waiting for it, i'm so excited! I can't wait! ARGH WEDNSDAY COME!

  • I want that camara so bad Dose it have Effects I Cant spell that sorry

  • Does it have a night vision mode? Looking for a compact good quality camera but I also need the night vision mode.

  • Im not a camera whiz but can flash memory pause while ur recording and then u can press resume and ull resume what ur recording???

  • Again. This camera does not have a "built in hard drive" It has on board flash memory, and a SD card slot. No Hard disk drive..

Great Cam though.. The FS100 is basically the same cam, but without the on-board memory. But it is also only retails for only $399..

  • I'm getting that!

  • CAN ANY ONE PLEASE HELP ME!!! does this camera work with a mac

  • "It takes megapixel images" WTF is that supposed to mean??

  • it takes moving photos of 1.0 megapixels...better quality...video that has a quality of a 1.0 megapixel camera which is pretty good...ordinary camcorders take less than 1 megapixel quality video...

  • hard drive??? flash memory isn't a hard drive.

  • now you know why compusa is out of business ;)

  • haha

  • Thank you..

  • Thats funny, I have an AMD processor on my computer...works just fine for me. Oh well!

  • Turns out yes, they lie. It works fine on AMD.

I am dead serious that they will bald faced lie to you over the phone though. It's absurd. None of the work arounds suggested to me on my own video have made me able to use other software to download either. You lose that disk, you're stuck until/unless they ship you a new one.

    It's dumb.

  • does it have a carl zeiss lenses???...

  • The reviewer continually repeats incorrect information. There is no hard-disk in the camera at all. It is all flash-based memory.

  • @LIONKINGsite You are incorrect. There is indeed a 16 gig internal hard-disk. I would suggest getting your facts straight before making yourself look like a dumb ass.

  • @stinky304 Oh, the irony. It's flash based, NOT a hard disk. There is no hard disk, it is flash based. Are you comprehending this? Jeez ...

  • This video camera will not work with anything but an intel processor.

If I were you, I'd forget it and get the JVC. Oh, and Canon does not seem to believe that this is a good reason to offer a refund either. So be damned sure you are ok with this, because they are NOT going to back you up.

  • JVC? Go Sony!

  • Clearly I did not do my research. All in the world I wanted was to be able to download whatever I recorded onto whatever computer I had.

I had heard hard drive cameras had multiple ways to do this, and then I read that this was like a hard drive camera except it used flash memory. I was intrigued by the speed with which they claimed the flash memory would let you stop and start the camera. I have yet to test it, but no matter how good it is, it does not make up for having to use Imagemixer.

  • Any processor will work. you are an idiot.

  • Me and the instruction manual and the tech support line are all idiots. You are correct however. Any processor will work.

Canon just lied about it in their docs. I checked the AMD.

  • And Holy Cow, that's not even the main point. What is the deal with ImageMixer to begin with?

Admit it. Canon was in bed with them and it makes the camera harder than it has to be for a beginner to download and edit with. Period. Fact.

  • what resolution does the cam record max.?

  • Well. I would guess since its SD.

    Pal - 1024*576

    NTCS- Something similar.
