Hi I don't really get it when you said "i then cut some pieces of grunge paper then glued them to the middle of the front and back cover then sewed it around the strip" I was really confused...

@graphicmangagrrl sorry it wasn't very clear. You cut your cover then two strips for the spine. You have to put them in the middle of your cover to create the spine. I glued them down on both sides of the cover then I sewed around the stripe that created the spine. That way it is really sturdy so it won't tear through when you tie the ribbons around it to hold your paper in the book. I hope this helps -Megan
