An interesting list which I respect very much, however here is my list:- 1....The Shining (1980). 2....The Haunting (1963). 3....The Legend of Hell House (1973). 4....Session 9. 5....Phantasm. (1979). 6....Dracula (Hammer 1958). 7....Silent Hill. 8....Salems Lot. (Tobe Hooper). 9....Rose Red. 10....The Pit and the Pendulum (V Price).
My father Had to take me to see the Exorcist when it First came out....
What made it even scarier back then was the People were passing out or running out of the Theater from the Shocking scenes ( which seem somewhat tame today )...
My father was trying to act like "Damn... I got to take this boy to see this movie..."...but the Crucifix Scene finally did him in and he wasn't right for a few days.
It was a Shared National Event......something I'll never ever forget.
Thank's for th list. Must look for those movies. The Texas Chainsaw Massacre scared me. And I liked Death Weekend and The House of Wax (2005). And then I bought a box with some true serial killers (play movies). The one about Ted Bundy was terrible. I must say that I don't mind that they fried him up.
That was a good list. The Exorcist still scares me, also I can't watch Jaws or Texas Chainsaw Massacre by myself! You should see the original Phantasm movie, it's really good!
@WitchGirl94 its just my opinion. i didnt expect anyone to like it, but i didnt find it scary at all and the villian looked like a bad rippoff of freddy cruger
10.psycho 9.the shining 8.peeping tom 7.the cabinet of dr.caligari 6.nosderatu 5.night of the living dead 4.dawn of the dead 3.halloween 2.jeepers creepers 1.exorcist good job on the vids i have seen all of them and u have good taste in movies i can see that but if u look at my list you can see the some of the older movies are on the top im not really in to old movies but those were pretty good
those movies are retared none of then are scary . like the shining . she dropped the bat . she could have killed his ass a lone time ago . like in da bathroom . she should of beat his head in wen he stuck it in da hole
The opinion onif you think the exorsict is based on religion my brother is an atheist he found it to be halarious. My other friend is jewish who also found it to be halarious.
number 4 is the ring number 3 is the grudge number 2 is the amityville and nr 1 is the exorcist and i think the texas chainsaw massacre must be 5 or 6
i like hollween exsorsit jeppers i love love love night mare on elm street omg rock on freedy hes kills awsomely same with michle myers rock on i subscibed =)
I want to share my countdown top ten and some others too: 10. Suspiria 9. Saw 8. The Omen (1976) 7. The Blair Witch Project 6. The Texas Chainsaw Massacre 5. A Nightmare On Elm Street 4. Halloween 3. Jaws 2. Psycho 1. The Exorcist Other favorites: *Carrie *Night of the Living Dead *The Shining
By the way for all you who want to see a truly horrifying and sadistic modern horror flick: check uit A l'interieur (inside). This movie completely freaked me out, and I have seen allot of horror films. This movie goes way to far and is just so sick that no one will finish watching it feeling ok.

Cool list, though I must say that I found the original dawn of the dead to be more gory than the remake.
I mean, the remake doesnt show a guys belly get ripped open and guts getting torn out right?
Elendill2003 3 years ago
exactly what im trying to say neilpiano
incredible210 4 years ago
y does every1 think the remake of dawn of the dead is worse than the original whats scarier slow zombies or fucken sprinting zombies
yallfeetface 4 years ago
He freaks out because of the atmosphere.
Alone with his family and a pressure to write his book.
The hotel is evil and affects him so the tradision can continue.
He althought gets kinda "possesed" but only of madness.
He doesent get possesed by satan or anything like that.
SIRJONAS 4 years ago
jack nicholson didnt get possesed by satan O_o
where the hell are u getting that from?
SIRJONAS 4 years ago 2
what does happen to him ive never seen that movie or is he just a reall freak like in most of his movies even though he is a completly amazing actor.
