@HypnotiiKx if you are looking for ergonomics / comfort, the r6 is what you want. If you want a bike that was basically built for the track, the gixxer will suit your needs. I've tried both, I love the gixxer but it was the huge tank and uncomfortable riding position that drove me away from it. Great bike though, but I preferred a bit more comfort. If you do go for an r6 though, be ready for the most non-linear power curve lol

hello, im in the market for a bike. i looked up on craigslist and found an 2006 R6 that has 13,000k miles. pardon my ingnorance but is 13,000k miles too much for a bike? can someone tell me how many miles can you ride until your engine starts to fail?

@SuperbD2009 13,000 isn't that many miles! I just rolled 27,000 yesterday and still sounding good! It all depends on how well the bike was taken care of. Usually you can tell by how the bike looks and sounds. If your not sure make sure you bring someone that knows sport bikes with you when you go look at it.

I was told by my buddie that is a machanic high revs are not good or something when the bike in N that the motor should have a little bit of a load on it i just kinda cringe when when some ppl over rev ... @jakubpriest80 I bought it brand new of the showroom floor in 2006. I paid around $9,200 out the door. Depending on your size and strength you might be able to jump into a 600. You gotta start somewhere. Sit on a few at the dealer and see what feels best, and make sure you can sit down and touch flat footed!

@ScReamOOOHHH The Stock exhaust system has a catalytic converter. I removed it and put a mid pipe on. The weight reduction alone was about 20LBS. Plus it makes your engine breath easier!

I don't really consider that little of weight difference between the two enough to consider the R6 a "...smaller more light weight bike". The dimensions of the two are within 2 inches for length and width as well. 600s are not smaller nor are they lighter weight than 1000s.

@Dennissays If your talking about weight, Yes you are correct! But when it comes to a 1000cc Motorcycle... Horsepower, Speed, RPM range, & Tire size are all factors that can make a bike feel bigger! The Horsepower difference between a 600 vs 1000cc motorcycle is scary enough for most inexperienced riders!

I like this style r6, Really wanted one but people are way to proud of them and asking prices like they need a heroin fix. Beat up , droped. So I went with a mint 04 r6 with 6000miles and shit loads of aftermarket parts for $4500.

@JISINSANE3 Sounds like you got a good deal! 6,000 is not hardly any miles! This body style is still new so it will take another two years before you see a price drop. Your 04 has more torque at lower RPM than my 06. Pretty close race though!

@TheOneFromMW2 Not really. I really only notice pain if I ride with a backpack on. I have rode from Muskegon to St. Ignace a few times for the annual car show and I really am more tired than sore. Its all about what position you sit in and how you hold on.

@TheOneFromMW2 Height does matter! There are a lot of adjustments. Handle bars, foot pedals, clutch, suspension, and a few others. At 6' you should be ok to ride any bike without adjustments. Sit on a few and see how each one feels to ya.

Ahhh I miss Michigan at times but not that cold. Moved back to SoCal for all year riding weather. The Micron seemed to retain the stock sound at idle with maybe a 1/2 octave difference. but noticeably less raspier in the throttle. Of course it sounds much different under load VS. revving it Neutral too i am sure. Stay safe out there from SoCal

@undrstm8ed Yea I like Michigan for the most part. Winter you can ride snowmobiles and summer you can ride motorcycles! The exhaust didn't change at all actually. It was exactly the same! Did micron go out of business or something? I hate how they only have a full muzzy system for that bike. You can even use a different system on the zx11. My frend has a full vance and hines system on his zx11. Cant even get that for the 12. What the hell?

@boyzpiyush r6 is probably the highest seat height. I am 6' and it's fine for me but the seat is about 36" and it's a wide seat too. Mines an 07 not sure how they were before but u can get lowering links and bring it down 2-4 inches. Suspension adjustability is awesome on mine too. Alot of play in different settings
