Are you thinking about doing just a book for Paracord knots and weaves? I purchased your book and was looking for more thinking like that, but it only had 8 different ones and you have many more on your channel.
Please ignore last post. I was watching the other switchback video but posted under this one. I see the two ragged ends. Again, great work on the vids.
Is there any to have two tag ends coming out of each end of the switch back. I use buckles to make my bracelets, and I need a loop to do that. Thanks for all the great videos.
Interesting. When I do a 2 color version of this I take two lengths of paracord and melt the ends together and weave it around a premade core. My way is a little easier for me. Its also how I did a 2 color version of your Dragon's tongue.
I also use solid braid nylon (primarily 1/4 inch diameter). In fact most of my 2009 videos use nylon rope. Paracord was something I decided to play with for 2010. Soon, I'll be moving back and forth between the two types of cord, and others.
It you could do a video on hardware attachment that would be great. There is very
little information about this out there and with your skills I'm sure you have come up with some innovative ways to end the weave with a buckle or shackle or whatever.

I truly respect your thoughts on blending the tying with appropriate music, but also respectfully disagree about a slow rock song making the videos look and feel disjointed. I have watched many of your videos over and over and I'd much rather listed to a slow Eagles tune than "We're exploring to explore" or whatever over and over. But hey, they are your videos, and your tying is excellent. I love them, but will have to love them in silence.
Regarding the music: I too like Rock/Heavy Metal bands like the ones mentioned below. However, incorporating hi energy, fast paced music into my videos would either change the pacing of the ties, or the pacing would not reflect the music used. Further, slow methodical (tying) movements accompanied by Rock or Heavy Metal music would make the videos look and feel disjointed.
Also, many of the people watching these videos have to do so repeatedly to get the tie. High energy music evokes high energy emotions that dont meld well with learning technical ties.
Oh your music. I'm sorry, just not for me. How about mixing it up a bit with some Aerosmith, Black Sabbath, Stones, Foreigner, ACDC, etc. for us old rockers who
cring at the new wave stuff. I have to turn the volume off. LOVE your videos--best ones out there, but I have to watch them in silence. What is with the guy saying "we are exploring space" or something like that over and over and "yawn" over?
@Vandy1212 I see what you're saying, it's like every other youtube video having that 'dreamscape' crap all over the place, compared to 'dreamscape' this is paradise!
Love your videos--I've seen most. If you would do a nice long video on how to attach side release buckles, shackles, rings, how to attach from the beginning of the weave vs. at the end of the weave. I've seen how to attach side release buckles in general, but have difficulty with for instance three or four cords because when you loop them thru a buckle, shackle, etc. to secure and start the weave on the other side you double your strands, then it messes up the weave instruction!

hey JD, i really like your videos. you make everything so clear. what type of rope do you use? i use really poor quality brown hemp and i want to make some nice colourful like yours. i want to make a bracelet, what type of knotting do you recommend? right now im wearing a "cobra stitch"(?), maybe something like a fishbone knot?
how could i attach a buckle or shackle on this

Is there an alternative to singeing the end of a cut cord?
furiousajp 1 year ago
@furiousajp - You can tap the end of the cord with a drop of grazy glue.
