  • BRINGS ME CHILLS & GOOSE BUMPS. i loved my platform shoes dammit... this used to peak the room just so people understand what i truly mean. think vicki sue robinson, "turn the beat" or t-connection "do what ya wanna" this used to do the same thing to a dance floor, it just didn't go on the be a pop disco classic,in the states anyway. definitely one of my tp 100 lps of all time.

  • Tenía 14 años cuando salió este gran tema. Al escucharlo me emocionó. Vivan los años 70s. A bailarlo de nuevo así tengamos 49 años. Gracias por subirlo. esto sí es música.

  • Brings back good memories of the soul disco circuit in and around the Hemel area in the UK of the 1974 era

For around five years our routine was, Scamps in Hemel on a Monday,The Watersplash in London Colney on a Wednesday,The Spiders Web ,Watford on a friday,The California Ballroom Dunstable of a saturday and the Haven Hotel in St Albans on sunday night ! Great times looking back.

  • Egaña decided to leave the group in 1973 after his involvement with drugs was made public,[1] and Arbex decided to reduce his own involvement as a musician, hiring two new members as vocalist and drummer. With the popularity of disco in the mid-1970s, Barrabás moved in that direction and produced a number of minor hits. They disbanded in 1977 when Arbex moved fully towards writing and producing music for other artists, but he reformed the group in the early 1980

  • GRAN GRUPO DE LOS 70s

  • Crackers and Global Village... anybody?

  • Crackers off Oxford St & Tommy Mac dancing??

  • Tommy, a bit of a legend! I only saw him a couple of times. I first went to crackers in late 75. My older brother is now 53, he went to Crackers lunchtimes during the week and Friday nights, I think fri was the best night... but it was so long ago. He knew Tommy quite well. I love this Barrabas track, always have since my brother brought it home... he also brought home a copy of the Dawson Smith classic, I Don't Know If I can Make it the same day. What memories!

  • Went to both 75 and 76. Global Village practically every Saturday night. Always my favourite record there. We run two northern soul nights now and play Checkmate at one on a regular basis, great stomper!

  • wonderful song. Reminds me of the wonderful cheekee petes!

  • Hi gaduk2304 thanks for the comment, where or what is cheekee petes

  • It's a club..

  • Great record. I remember buying this in London, 1975. I'm trying to break it into the northern soul scene.

  • Hi soulie08 thanks for the comment, this is one of those tracks that is hard to fit in it's a little bit of Funk a little bit Soul and some Disco thrown in but all that makes it an interesting one to listen too.

  • @soulie08 was played widely on the nsoul at the time, huge at the mecca, alex lowes played it locally at the sombrero in chester le street and dunelm house all dayers in durham

  • @pharoahsoulero Weird that nobody in the soul scene seems to remember it now. I think it's a great stomper. I'm hoping that Stuart plays it at our soul night tonight!
