Ever heard of decoupling? Just add a small capacitor across each LED and the flicker problem is solved. Unless you like it of course.

Probably the epoxy did something to the LEDs like it happened to me. The led on mine cracked when it dried but it was funny when the light still worked

@jkasarda1 No. It's just that 9V PP3s aren't able to supply many amps. In this case because the LEDs have 3 seperate dies (light emitters) which are coming on and going off gradually and overlapping eachother when the LEDs are in the overlapping part, some of the dies are flickering because the battery can't supply enough to power them all.

Correct me if I'm wrong, everyone, ok? Filled in some blanks here myself.

its because you used a 220 ohm resister 100 ohm will power leds grate but slightly over powering them.. but will not burn them out if you used a 120ohm the lights would be brighter and shift smoothly

you can fix the voltage spikes causing odd effects by adding 1 resistor per LED

if all LEDs are changing color at the same time and it is not desired, you could add varying sizes of inductors in series to each LED, or capacitors in parallel, to induce a delay and make each LED cycle at different times. however you might also need to use a transistor to do this otherwise you may need fairly large-value inductors or capacitors
