I have seen crows doing this myself. Looked very odd how they were sitting and waiting for the traffic to pass and then pick up nuts. Very smart birds indeed.
@tenedria My doves are not smart either. I love them, they're the cutest little birds.. but they're definitely the dumbest animals I've ever seen. Though, I feel like it adds to their adorableness :)
Amazing! Crows used to drive me crazy, they were cracking nuts on a military airfiled runway, so i had to get the debris removed all the times, during my active runway inspection checkruns. They were not scaried of me at all and let me get very close to them. When I got real close they just jumped onto the grass cause they figured out that I will stop chasing them overthere with my pickup truck, due to traffic regulations. They knew I had to stay on asphalt. I still respect them, smart bastards
@vahurstar Birds are an older species than humans and almost all other species on the planet, because they are the only living descendants of dinosaurs. Dinosaurs dominated the planet for millions of years before humans learned how to walk. We should have the right to own such birds as pets, it's sad that there is almost no bird that you can catch nowadays that is not protected by the Migratory Bird Act. This extreme law should be amended to allow people to keep birds as pets with a permit.
cool! that's really clever... It's not just this trained geometry-intelligence in the lab, it's a really useful and quite complicated strategy, very interesting.
its funny when you see eagles being chased off by crows

To all those who said - "you have a brain, the size of a bird" -
the crow in the video would say - "Take that.. "

arg. I own a dove and sometimes he's quite pathetic... he start doing a mating dance whenever he see's something white. (even a pair of socks)
Don't ask me how this specie survived for so long, I have no idea.

You should have hired a falconer. From what I hear word get around the birdy world pretty quickly when a falcon sets up shop somewhere.
