  • At 1:34 - "NGC 1705 Dwarf Galaxy - 1,929,742,032,967.195 Miles".

I wonder what made up that 0.195miles (314m)?

  • We are discovering new things more distant all the time, this video is 3 years old, already we know of further worlds...

  • stop saying about penis its not about penis !!11

  • anyone who says their dick is as big as the great sloan wall has a dick in their but. period. and does this mean we all live in the great sloan wall?

  • @dungsitta No, it's the size of any penis but invisible to the Great Sloan Wall.

  • actually the largest galaxy is IC 1101. U messed up a bit.

  • A lot of women seem to think so. But they're mostly vacuous sluts with no consideration for the entire individual.

  • Whats a new jersy

  • IS M87 Virgo A same thing to IC 1101?

  • Astonishing universe!! But what more astonishing is ALL of this is just perseption inside our brain. No absolute evidence that it really exist. God sure want human to think about His creations. Only wise, open minded man know and accept the truth.

  • @UnitITUBAH i like how u say no absolute evidence...sure we can say that because we can ultimately question everything. If we are open minded people then we don't except truth because we are open minded and always see another idea or solution or perspective.

  • Comment removed

  • And yet an ordinary earth Canis is so much more complex than Canis Majoris.

  • im only 11 so i dont know alot about the universe but what is the termination shock?

  • @SpiderCheese101

I think is the complex that envolves everything inside our solar system

  • wow sloan great wall is taking up a good amount of the universe

  • it would be better in km

  • There's no number such as sixtillion, You mean sextillion and this word isn't bad

  • Think how small humans are to the last object me: 0_0 dude that would take 50 fuckin trillion billion million thousand lightyears.....!!!!!

  • Cartwheel Galaxy isn't that big compared to Milky Way because Cartwheel Galaxy is 150000 ly and Milky Way is 100000 ly. and Virgo A galaxy isn't the largest galaxy IC 1101 is. But cool video.

  • When I got to VY Canis Majoris I felt like throwing up. D': Feel so dizzy.

  • un dato q dice a VOCES Q EL UNIVERSO NO TIENE 13.500 MILLONES DE AÑOS SINO 100.000 MILLONES Y ME QUEDO CORTOOOO!!!!

  • @ophistocoelicaudia stop speaking spanish and everybody will understand you.

  • @Jujudesjp ok..fuck you

  • @Jujudesjp fuck england fucking clowns

  • to think about it ,if some of these objects are so big and soooo far away that the light emitted by them takes millions of of years to reach us, then aren't we actually seeing what those objects were millions of years ago than like what they are now?? haha we are actually seeing the past the farther we look.

  • @beautifulangel2

we are indeed. Infact when you look at the moon, you see where it was 2 seconds ago, the sun, roughly 8 min ago (i think) etc..

in the hubble deep field we can see objects as they were over 10 billion years ago! would be incredible to see distant objects like that in real time tho :)

  • @satoriG i think it is more astonishing to see them as they were in the past, after all you do see them in real time just not present time

  • @beautifulangel2 chances are a lot of these things don't exist anymore or have changed a lot

  • @beautifulangel2 yes we see the stars as they were in the past depending on how many light years away from us they are. So if a star were a billion light years away, we would see it as it was a billion years ago.

  • @beautifulangel2 yeah def. so reallly what we see is the past that really is long gone..i mean the objects maybe altered or changed or gone all together, but we can't see this because we see the old light...the light that has just reached us..to us new, present, but really in reality old, and the past.

  • 76 sixtillions miles??????

it would be more simple in light years.

  • Omg ... what is the theme of this vidd???? ive been looking all over for itt

  • This video is wrong. The universe is 157,395,551,108,153,347,930,100,103.5464919 km, due to the old 20 year-old universe theory.

  • The universe is so small I can squash it with my pinky.

  • Other than not rounding to the 2 or 3rd digit, good video.

  • *BOOOOM*

That was my mind, thank you for the video

  • I feel smaller than an electron now.Brilliant video!!

  • lol love the soundtrack

  • wow?

  • Why is it showing a closed universe here at the end, i was under the impression that WMAP had pretty much put to rest that the universe is geometrically flat? unless of course I'm showing massive ignorance towards cosmology.

  • how did they even find those planets?? there like trillions trillions trillions trillions miles,, away from us

  • basically they are observed indirectly through gravitational lensing while they pass across the pathway of the light given off by a nearby star.

  • the funny thing is, the number at the end should be on a counter cause she's getting larger every second.

  • Good job! You measured the bigger objects in miles instead in light years.

  • Which is bigger, EH9 6632 or the sloan great wall?

  • sloan great wall

  • Sloan Great Wall is 7.9 spetilion miles wide.

  • beyond human understanding isn't it?????

  • what the fu*O&*%*)^*(^*(^(^*&^%*(&($*&(_^*k

  • oh my fucking god

  • nice vid and whats the termination schock??

  • Hypersonic1445 : It's the place where the Sun's effect halt, that is, the technical limit of the Solar System, at least, magnetically speaking. Voyager 1 passed it some time ago, last year or two years ago.

  • i would like to fuck an alien woman

  • EPIC

  • god gave me a headache by forcing me to actually read this shit

  • mind boggling

  • Just fabulous!

  • wow, just wow.

  • Oops. Missplelled Skyonne2007, Fix Skyonner2007.

  • Skyonne2007, The Music is Scaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaary!

  • Why do people always argue about God.

If we met an Alien Civilization they would also have a population that believes in a God or Gods.

The Concept of God is Ones Iner Self Trying to feel Confert knowing deep in ones self life has no mining. If Believing in God brings happiness to some stop trying to take that away from Them.

The Odds of their even being life on Earth is the Same Odds Of a dick randomly appearing on ones screen.

But with an Infinite Universe the Odds are Infinite.

  • @jakle52 Learn to spell and write correctly before starting theological discussions. Baby steps....

  • @jakle52 thing is...the universe isn't infinite.

  • @Griesmayer yes it can be finite; steven hawkings has lots to say about that.

  • @jakle52 who said it was infinite

  • i'm...

    i'm puny!

  • The heavens declare the glory of God; the skies proclaim the work of his hands

    -Pslam 19:1

  • And he created a universe where 99.999999999% of the universe will kill you stone dead in under 30 seconds. So maybe that god you talking about is not your god.

  • There are a couple things you need to realize though. First of all death is a result of sin seperating us from God's blessings, and that's why we need Jesus, to save us from our sins.

Also, saying that God doesn't exist simply because we can't live outside of Earth is a straw man fallacy.

  • Comprehension fail. Nowhere in the comment, did I say there is no god. I simply implied that the provincial god of the Bible doesn't stack up well against the universe we see. In no way are we the center of the universe that the Bible implies. Forget straw men how about non sequitors, a god created a vast universe so believe in Jesus. Maybe you can find me a god that isn't the puny god of bronze age myth, by a people who believed every animal lived in walking distance to Noah's house.

  • First you need to realize that if God was not capable of doing 'impossible' things, then He really wouldn't be very much of a God. Let me ask you this though, what would consider as convincing evidence of the Biblical God?

  • oh boy i feel sorry for you, don't worry if god makes you feel good thats great im happy for you, but to explain death as the cause of sins your simply wrong, your hanging out with some pretty idiotic people, educate yourself and you'll see there is still the possibilty of a god, it just won't be like your defintion

  • What is your definition of God?

  • i had a child 2 days ago and i felt nothing from god, i created him, so i must be god right??

there is no definition becuase he does not exist

  • look man no one cares, believe in him, but the rest of us are fine without him/her/it whatever bye bye

  • Very well then. Just remember that Jesus is patiently waiting whenever you should change your mind. I'll pray that one day your eyes be opened.

  • I am very, very, very, very, very small. And so are you. Yet, we are all also miracles of existence.

Enjoy consciousness. In comparison, it doesn't last all that long!

  • 132570181125515550474.8 hours

If you were to trek the sloan wall at 60Mph

  • And taking that number further, if you and a few others started on that trek, having children as usual, it would be the ~612,000,000,000,000th generation to make it to the other end.

  • What a smasher!!!!!!

any one into this kind of thing, I have a few saved as favs if ya fancy.

The biggest star known to man.

    How big is the Universe?

    The immensity of the Universe.

And think about the last object before the full universe on this video, and check out:-

The Millennium Simulation: "The Largest Model of Our Universe"

    Toodle Ooo

  • This makes me lean towards a no single god belief just because it's too damn huge, lol. Who knows what is behind the curtain though? ;)

  • And what is behind The observable universe??? I think, no one can understand the reality mld lightyrs far away.... it is above our understanding....

  • we ran out of definitions, so we say the biggest... object lol.

incredible, is way more fun to think the universe wasn't planned

  • Thank you Roger. Finally someone who believes God exists.

  • When you look at our enviorment in the big picture, and how delicate life is, and how crazily the universe is fine tuned, I really don't see how you can deny God.

  • a 99.999999999...% lifeless universe is fine tuned?

  • Well, you've got several physical constants. These include c, G, plank's constant, ect. And control everything from how start burn to how fast something falls on Earth. The thing is, if the gravitational constant were off by say, 1%, then a structured universe with galaxies, stars and planets could never form. Other constants are simlarly tied to the existence of life.

Even if the universe is mostly barren, when you think about all the possibilities, the fact we're here is spectacular

  • life is a natural by-product of the universe but our brains cant comprehend whats beyond. not denying god or anything but all man made religion is stupidity and ignorance at its finest

  • here's a guy that knows about ignorance first-hand...better pay attention to him, folks ...(man-made religion...lmao)

  • lol what? all religion that people follow is fuckin bullshit. but a "god" is not out of the question

  • Well let me ask you this, if there is a God, and there is no religion, than how is there a God?

  • there could be a "god" or creator somewhere some how but religion is all this bullshit rules to follow and people fighting and killing over who is right thats what religion is its stupid. its all man created all the stories are created by man, no one has ever talked to god lol. but theres hundreds of billions of planets in the known universe and were certainly not the only life and there is no god watching everyone its just scare tactics to control masses of ignorant people. its pathetic,

  • I see what you're saying. A lot of people have become very wealthy off religion but, a lot of the people who started religion (like the apostles of Christ) were martyred, and had nothing to gain from what they said.

  • If there is a god, it is most likely incomprehensible to the mind of man. It is certainly not the childish, tiny, and provincial god of the Bible. Typically Christian bait and switch, get someone to agree god is possible and immediately, start talking about the love of Jesus. Those two are so far apart you are not even playing in the same ballpark.

  • great comment

  • yes. definitely, God does not exist

  • I could imagine a kind of god in the form of an unknown creativeness, that already existed in singularity and caused the Big Bang...

but I can't believe that there is some old man who created time and space and made humanity his favourite life form. It's weird to see that people need to know everything, even if they can't find a satisfying explication. It's probably beyond the limits of physics and human imagination. So they just made (make) their own answers and call them religion.

  • One thing you need to realize is that the God of the Bible is incomprehensable. When you say that God is childish, you are probalby refering to a childish concept of God, founded more on today's misconceptions than on the Bible.

  • By your logic the omnipotent creator of the universe inspired the Bible, and this god is incomprehensible. If omnipotent beings are going to inspire bibles, I expect better of them in explaining themselves.

So I think the null hypothesis holds, the Bible was made by men trying to explain a universe they couldn't understand, not a god who could bring true insight to it.

If you posit a creator why not look at the creation rather than ancient ideas that are very limited or just plain wrong.

  • Expect them to better explain themselves? How so? What part of the Bible don't you understand?

  • The bible's deity is a not too pleasant, angry, violent deity, much like a majority of Middle Eastern deities in the area. Quite a few were quick to anger and had to be appeased with blood. Later on the belief in a deity sacrificing itself to itself became the mystery religion of Christianity. Monotheism going with the trends.

  • One thing you have to realize is that God was preparing a culture for Jesus to born into. Therefore, anyone who threatened the Isrealite culture/society was threatening Jesus before He was born, and hence threatening the eternal salvation of all. Hence, it is easy to see why God was so serious about the preservation of Isrealite culture/society. It wasnt like He was just killing innocent people. He was warring against very evil people (like child sacrificers) so that we could all have salvation

  • So it's okay if Yahweh wanted other societies to be murdered down to a child, their virgins taken captive in some cases as wives of these Israelis, because he said so? What the hell makes that better than any other society he was making war with??? He's as good as the children sacrificers!

Thank goodness that bible was incorrect about a bunch of barbarians running through Canaan...

  • Part I

There are several things you need to realize. There is a big difference between a just war and murder. For starters, God has power over life and death. He can bring people back to life, and control what happens to them after death, while humans can't.

  • Just war? Please read your bible. No justifications for some of the things he demanded done to the Canaanites...To a child.

If your deity is as powerful as you say, I think he's going to have to come back down here and say "hello" to us.

  • Part II

Also, God was in the process of saving man from mans' sins. In order to that, Jesus had to be born into a particular society/culture, so anyone threatening the culture was threatening all of our eternal salvation. Also, the women taken captive were to be treated with respect, not as sexual objects. Also, you need to realize that all these people were sinners, and deserved death anyway.

  • Why a particular culture? Why that point in time? Why did Jesus have to die? You're talking about an all-powerful deity that could just wipe sin away in an instant, without bloodshed. Or are you calling your god impotent?

  • Part III

God could have justly sent us all to hell, but He was so good to give us His Son. It is the greatest gift ever given and it would be a shame if it were wasted.

  • God could've stuck that tree in Edin somewhere else, but I guess creation isn't fun without a few goof ups on the creator's part!

  • God supposedly knows everything that is to come. He let everything happen. He let the snake into the garden. He knew adam and eve were gonna eat the apple because the snake would make them. He knew everything as soon as he made it all. It is his fault. In fact he has power over everything and anything that happens is due to him making it happen. Hmm how nice of him to MAKE satan trick adam and eve. How nice of him to kill everyone during the flood. Babies and fetus's alike. Great god mhmm.

  • The snake didnt make them do anything. They had freewill. God gave us freewill so we could love Him. Freewill, by definition implies the potential to sin. B/c we have choosen sin over God, weve seperated ourselves from Him, and if we die like this well be seperated forever. However, God was able to save us, without sacrificing His justice. He did it through Jesus. He was able to pay our fine, so that we could repent and be saved. Its the greatest gift ever given and it would be a shame if wasted

  • Ok so god is all powerful and knows everything that will happen. So he knew the snake would trick them into eating the apple which he did. God knew they would choose to eat the apple. God knew everything that was going to happen. Agree?

If god is all powerful and has a plan then we dont have free will. And he knows the choices we would make anyways and he could choose to stop us but he wont. If I was a god I wouldnt let anyone do anything that will DAMN THEM TO HELL FOR ALL ETERNITY.

  • Part I

God created us to love Him. The kind of love God wants requires a choice and thus free will. Free will implies that there is a potenetial to do wrong otherwise it really isnt free will. If we werent able to sin, then that would defeat the whole purpose. However, God has come up with a way to solve this problem, and thats Jesus. Christ died for us so that we could accept Christ and repent and still be with God despite our sin. Its the best gift ever given and it would be a shame if wasted

  • So god create us to love him? what a considerer, his ego got to be huge and his insecurity also.

  • God does not need our worship to make Him any more of a God, but it is what we were created to do. But let me ask you this. Why else would God create us? Would you rather God have just made us with no regards to any kind of relationship? Would you rather have Him had made us with no purpose?

  • Part II

As far as free will being impossible with omniscience, think of it this way. When it is raining outside, you know its raining. The fact you know its raining doesn't effect the rain. Its vice versa. God is outside of time. The past, present, and future are all the same to Him. Just as the rain effects our knowldedge, our choices effect God's knowledge, not vice versa. The only difference is that God is outside time. God's knows our choices beforehand, but they are still our choices.

  • Except if god is all powerful then he controls everything that happens. So we don't have free will.

  • God's omniscience does not violate free will. For example, if it is raining, and I know it is raining, it is because I see its raining. My knowledge doesn't affect the rain. Its vice versa. That's the way it is with God. Our choices affect God's knowledge. Not vice versa. The main difference is that God is outside time, and hence, the past present and future are all the same to Him. So God is able to see what our future choices are, but they are still our choices.

  • God? Let me tell you something my friend. Religion is nothing more than this. MIND PRISON. you will never ascend to the next level since you your mind is stuck to such pity attachments that government has implied into your mind by the day you were born. your mind right now is in the zero position. a free mind starts next to zero and can reach... infinite. but if you are stacked into zero you stay into zero. feel sorry for you hahaha

  • I don't understand. I'm afraid you may have been watching too many internet documentaries. The thing is that there really is no evidence the gov't didn't make up religion for control. Christianity was persecuted for centuries by Rome when it first started. Anyways, the Bible does teach the gov't should only be followed as long its laws are in line with God's laws, so it this idea really doesn't hold water.

  • look friend, i only use internet for youtube and music. just because you read these things in a book, you watched them somewhere online or whatever doesnt make them true. government and religion, are two prisons. one is for the mind, the other is for the soul. there are many people like me that have understand these things (thank ''god'' lol). i stop here. peace.

  • you are a hero dude

    facts say (cant remember where)

that if we didnt have religion our technology and discoveries and progress would be 1000 years ahead on what we are now, we would be floating around in hover crafts to work...

but to many people are in this ''mind prison'' so discoveries are low....

  • a lot of sizes are wrong.

The cartwheel galaxy isn't bigger than the milky way, M87 is much smaller than the biggest galaxy known (IC 1101) and the LMC is about as big as NGC 1705

  • oh well sorry the Carthweel galaxy is actually bigger but not as much. Its about only 30% bigger than the Milky way.

  • The universe is a ball =)

  • Of course it is!!, since Light and Matter expans in a radial form.... Imaging a Firework that explodes in the sky... its forms a ball!

  • beyond observable universe? endless? what scares me is the system of universe...birth and then death on everything. all us. After death, it is complete nothing, not even nothingness....

  • Why fear death? Where were you before you were born? You didn't exist you were dead? So the first 13.7 billion years of you non-existence didn't bother you neither will the billions after your line. If the universe were sentient I would tell you you are a firefly that adds a brief interesting light to the place. So for that tiny moment make the light interesting.

  • spectacular video! it gave me chills for every size comparison. The universe is so damn GIGANTIC.

  • it is amazing to think that all the universe started from NOTHING 15 billion years ago! what is nothing?? That gives me the chills too.

  • exactly!it is way beyond the understanding of human mind.

  • Just had a mini heartattack there.

  • very well done!... a lot better than some other "comparing" videos that compares us with other suns, etc.

  • Awesome video!!! To infinity and beyond!

  • What is name of this song ?

  • In the hall of the mountain king

  • best video of sizes in the universe!! there is some bigger objects than milky way O_O

  • Nice summary at the end fellow spec

  • honestly dude this is the best size comparison video I have ever seen!

  • I'm so depressed we are so insignificant

  • brilliant faved and rated well done

  • great vid ... now i can sit back and think ... nuclear bombs are like pillows in this unexplained vast universe

  • Very impressive, but no human is able to understand any of these dimensions because it's simply incredibly huge. It's absolutely not possible to imagine how big these objects and structures are.
