Shoot we milled 100,000 yards in one day full width medians man holes water valves traffic on our backs 3 machines 1 wirtgen and 2 cmi in 118 degrees in phoenix in july thats milling and we did it in 17 hours
NICE VIDEO.. I have run a Wirtgen w1900 for the Alabama Dept. Of Transportation for 5 years now. It looks like you guys are very professional, clean, and classy.
poopiefart 101 your idea of milling is probably the reason the company i work for has to go around behind rookies that get kicked off jobs and re-mill the surfaces they screw up.
as for 1300 sq yds of city streets and I dont care if it is manhattan, chicago or some city in the sticks, its called "daily rate". since 1300sq yds is not gonna cover transport costs and a tank of fuel unless the sq.yd price is way up there.
Hey douche bag you think i dont know what im talking about!? haha why dont you bring your redneck ass up to new york city and try milling in Manhattan, not your cake walk highway job ,try and get 1300 and up yards a night with all the structures and hard mix aphsalt!
You guys would have to be wearing your depends cause you would shit your pants from all the weaving and turning we do with a rx 900.high way milling is boring and easy even my 7 year old girl can do it!!haha
@poopiefart101 how much do you guys get a square foot in manhattan? Most of the suburban bids I have seen north of the city in westchester are like $3 a square yard. Do you work for fleet milling? Tully? Do you know the guy who is now working for Core/Columbus?
These machines are made by Roadtec and Dynapac.... Not Ronco Showtime Rotisserie. It takes a certain level of knowledge to operate them safely and effieciently.
they milled a road here this winter after three people died in a crash due to deep groves in the road, the road officials that had delayed work on the road paniced and ordered the milling.
the crew that did the job said the asphalt was easy to work on when frozen, but work could only be done when it was warmer then -10 degree celsius, any colder then that and the cooling water froze.
NIce box of Rhinos.....on a roadtec . Do you use Kenametal rpz19?//

While costly running whit antifreeze instead then water prevent that same for asphalt rollers.
seb2455 2 years ago
yea they thought about using antifreeze, but they found it to be just that, too costly.
