Excelente músico. even if he was born in Chile, he is so not chilean [which is better] xD Great musician also!

  • truly mesmerizing

  • chileeeeeeeno chileeeeeeeeeno.

  • straight to favorites thank you

  • he only was born in chile, but he doesn't know nothing about it

and no matter where he was born, talent has no nation

no celebren mucho que es chileno,

el es una persona con talento,

no importa donde nasca, pues eso no cambia nada

  • LOVE this!!

  • That guitar is putting out some beautiful tones under the main note. Good gear eh. Always sounds better in the hands of someone who knows what they're about.

  • sorry kids, is from CHILE!.-

  • gracias , gracias a todos :D

  • y es chileno

    grande alain

    lo mejor

  • his accents on his notes sometimes make me go eww

  • he's doing some Robert Fripp style, but with an optimistic view.

    very good !!

  • the sounds he makes are very steve vay style, but he`s way of playing reminds me of jimmy page, the expressions.

  • este weon es weno prke es chileno!!!!!!! this guy is great because he's chilean!!!!!!

  • holy. fucking. shit.

  • Chilenooooooo! :P

  • mean

  • Alain Johannes is hopefully the getting credit he deserves (and a bit more of the limelight) touring with the Vultures..he's always been happy to stay in the background with most of his projects, i'm assuming , because he's a quiet, modest genius (judging by his interviews, or lack of them)...I love that he plays with QOTSA occasionally...Josh, Troy and Alain: 3 guitar virtuosos in the same band..that's about as good as modern rock can get

  • chilenoooooooooooooo!!!

  • Genius.

  • just saw him play with them crooked vultures on my birthday, he ws sick

  • God Damn! This man is a natural musical genious. Now why can't there be more players this creative nowadays? And why can't they be more famous?

  • Fuck i feel exelent becose he is fucking Chilean like mee xD

  • 5 stars

  • hey this is alot like Fripp

  • Yeah totally what I was thinking

  • What's that crazy guitar effect he's using?

  • nice - refreshingly devoid of shred

    i'm thinkin' Adrian Belew

    2:11 - i love that dissonant shit

  • Amazing, thanks for posting. Alain is such a tasteful and masterful musician that it's hard to evaluate his work with QOTSA and Vultures. He's always kind of playing second fiddle. Don't blame him though, I'd kill for that gig!

    That's playing!

    Awesome tone!

    Underrated!!!

  • I hear similarities to Chris Poland in his playing. I used to see Eleven with my buddy Greg Upchurch, and Alain was someone I'd remembered as being exceptional on guitar. Nice post, apb

  • alain can play

  • His playing sorta reminds me of Jeff Beck's playing.

  • hahah wow dude hahahahah bad azz

  • anybody know what hes using to get that sound at the first? I've never heard anybody do that before, sounds badass. How have i not heard of this guy before?

  • Wow.

  • he has a very unique way of playing i love it

  • thank you all:D oh my name is Alain to and im guitarist to:D

  • Queer.

  • Queen = win.

  • One of the most under-rated musicians in the history of rock.

  • I completely agree.

  • yeah but that will soon change i think because he is in them crooked vultures with dave grohl, josh homme, and jon paul jones...which is gonna be like the best thing ever btw...nov 17, mark the date...

  • @NYNick20

Not underrated in the eyes of Josh Homme

  • @NYNick20

...and the most underrated SONGWRITER in the history of rock as well.

    RIP Natasha.

  • Go, Alain, go!

  • god damn he is a bad ass

  • Yay Alain, I love you!!

  • That crowd needs to shut the hell up.

  • lol

  • now this guy can play!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1

very unique, I just listened to his stuff with Eleven,

HOLY SHIT, I WAS BLOWN AWAY

  • Absolutely extraordinary!!

  • this definitely sounds like "a long slow goodbye." pretty cool that qotsa made lyrics to this

  • this guys awesome, where can I find their CDs?

  • Its hard to describe what he just did.

  • he's great...i could here a lot of Fripp and some Zappa in this solo....

  • yesssss

  • so freaking cool. gotta love how well this guy can play. :)

  • Way to pronounce his name right, Chris.

    :D

  • fuckin' awesome....his soul passing throught his guitar......

  • Yeah, Alain is so great!

  • He's not even playing. His heart is singing through his guitar and his fingers.

  • He is simply amazing. A true gentleman and musician.

  • el sobrino de Peter Rock

  • si te gusta este grupo, no dejes de visitar el blog "MUNDOELEVEN", buscalo en google, para no dejar el enlace aqui.

  • this is rocks the solo

  • No Pussyfooting here! great!

  • Arguably, the very finest player ever from Los Angeles.

  • @turntapzap definitely

  • @turntapzap john frusciante for the counter argument!

  • @Jewfee43 Agreed.

  • Isn´t there any footage of his `What is this?` days, when he played with peppers drummer Jack Irons, like he does now in Eleven?

  • great stuff, you get a lot of emotion i think in his music

  • amazing
