Being gay need not be dangerous but many people make foolish decisions in the heat of the moment and things go sour. Also with HIV moving from a death sentence to a more manageable condition, people just don't take it as seriously. Not being overly promiscuous and using condoms reduces chance of exposure to about nil.

Look into history?
How far back? If we go back before 1400 you will find the church performed gay marriages. They were considered more sacred than straight marriages because they were out of Love.
We could go back just 40 years when mix races could not marry, or 70 years when women had no rights inside the institution, or we could go back 150 years when blacks and natives were not allowed to marry and you could send your 5 year old off to be a bride.

It was not made for Same-sex marriage, the same sex marriage was created by law and intentions. This comment is not made to offend anyone, its just a true statement.

At the time of Christ Same-sex marriage was even more prevalent. The only religion against it at the time was the Jewish faith. Throughout Rome, Greece, Asia, the Americas, homosexuals were could marry, and in some cultures like the Native Americans, homosexuals were considered a blessing to the people.

People only use aggresion when they can't use arguments to convince the others. That's why gay-marriage protesters were so angry. Even they can't defende their point of view.
BTW, the whole problem is about elevating a "gay union" to the status of a marriage. Homossexualism was part of ancient cultures like greek and rome, but even there they knew it could not be considered marriage.
A gay union may have civil rights.

@perrebr I'm straight and I fully support gay rights. There are no logical reasons to deny gays the rights to marry. People are angry because they are being oppressed. Pick an argument in favor of heterosexual marriage only and I will refute it. Procreation? Not required under the law. Biblical? Religious beliefs are not required under the law.
Anger by gays? This is a propaganda piece. The woman who was intimidated? The protestors were silent and were at least 15 ft away.

Your religious right is the right to believe what you want not the right to force your beliefs on other and deny them equal rights. NOM wants to distort the issue and make it as if same-sex marriage somehow undermines heterosexual marriage. There is no evidence that supports that conclusion. If you don't believe in same-sex marriage- don't marry someone of the same sex. Just let others live their lives. If someone else's marriage affects your, then the problem is with you and your spouse.

Homosexuality is a sin, but so is adultery. And adulterers can get married (and stay married). Adulterers who engage in gay sex, such as Ted Haggard, can be gay and be married.
Even worse than sin is to turn your back on God and deny His presence and existence. Yet atheists can get married and no one complains. If God is a part of marriage, then where is the outrage over soulless people able to obtain marriages?
