This is an APFSDS type tank round. Armor Piercing Fin Stabilized Discarding Sabot. Also known as a KE or Kinetic Round. It's hard to tell but I believe this is the American Sabot. I can't see enough of the barrel to decide on the tank.

They have cameras that pivot at the exact speed the round travels. It's not following the round, it's just turning at the known speed. The rounds speed is SO constant that it can hit a vehicle at 2700 meters traveling at 45mph. Scary stuff.

1) its not an APFSDS, that would be like 5 times slimmer and the sabot is a LOT bigger than the KE rod. this is a MPAT round

2) MAPT arent made of DU, they dont rely on KE but use a shaped charge

3) DU isnt by far the hardest metal. One of the cheapest though and of a relatively high density. btw, density is what matters not hardness in KE munitions. But neither is DU the most dense metal, its far from that.
