you know what, i've heard this song many times over the years and each time i hear it i find myself fighting back the tears, just can't help it on this one
This one of my favorites, that Red Sovine sung, makes me cry every time i hear it, i'm glad i found this on here; i haven't heard this song in awhile, Reminds me of my 3 year old that i lost; she will be 21 this year if she was still with me, but she's now my little ANGLE in heaven!!!! LOVE & MISS YA JAMIE!!!!!!!!!!!
this song gets me every time ,im an otr truck driver,my daughter used to meet me in the driveway when she was little, she is 16 now and i so miss her greeting me at the truck....
my nan used to listen to this song, I have a little girl now aged 4, means so much to me for my dear nan (r.i.p) and I hope I will never have to buy that rose for my little rosa
this song brought a tear to my eye when I first heard it at the age of 6 (ish) now I have a 4 year old daughter it makes me feel so happy / sad / glad that when I get home from work my little aimee (rosa) i s waiting for me when I get home
this song brought a tear to my eye when I first heard it at the age of 6 (ish) now I have a 4 year old daughter it makes me feel so happy / sad / glad that when I get home from work my little aimee (rosa( i s waiting for me when I get home
i love his music as it all has meaning heart and no matter how hard i try i all ways end up crying this post for my mum and dad who all ways played his songs
this song makes my aunt cry so i every time i sat a part she starts to crie but laugh because i always tease her(not to be mean or anything my family always teases eachother)
i love this song its very sad. i have three daugthers and i dont know what i would do if i lost anyone of them. they mean so much to me they are my world they are the reason i wake up everyday just so i can hold them in my arms and tell them how much daddy really loves them with every beat of my heart and soul
@kmjs1 You know I don't care if there real are not I don't know I'm not that into red sovine yet but these songs have to make you fight back tears or you have no soul
my mom used to play red sovine in the car when my brother sister and i were little, and my sister brought this song up tonight after years of forgetting itt..so i looked it up and its amazing how much your mind remembers..i love this song..always have n always will..i criedd:(
Sgmcfarlane. You are a cultural idiot. If you didn't like this song just keep your mouth shut. Nobody forced you to listen to it. Red Sovine was one of the greatest singers in the history of country music. If you can't see that, you are blind as a bat.
i'm afraid you will have to explain that one to me......I'm not that educated I guess.....I don't know what a "cultural vacuum" is......I was talking about people who care about other people....and believe it or not there are a huge number of people who do.....what you read in the paper or hear on the news is not done by "real" American people......they're just mentally challenged trash if you will....!!
I am with you. my daddy and mom taught us to love this music. They were very talented. mom played the piano and daddy the mouth harp. today I love all kinds of music. my younger brother David was one of the orignail Monks in the 60's. he is now with the angels.
How fortunate to have grown up in a musical environment....I wish I had....I'd love to be talented at playing guitar or piano.......nothing I could have done about the voice though...lol...!!! Thanks for your comments...!!!
My Mother used to play this song when I was a child and I had not heard it in 35 yrs. or more. I have a disabled daughter and she was born with three holes in her heart. I Thank God Every Day for Her Life. This song makes me appreciate a child's life. A nice song that I fondly remember from the past.......We often take life for granted until it is lost.

How mucha for a rose? Is that Italian? Do you wanta sausage on the pizza? luigi would be honored to have this ridiculous song written about him! It's just plain awful this song needs to be abolished and tossed onto the shit wagon! Why is the rose a 10 cents for the white girl and a dollar for Luigi? what a crock of doo doo! ha ha Red Sovine sucks is he dead yet??
I have no idea how you could gather from my comment that I was directing it to Red, but I assure you that I was defending him against one of the many idiots who frequent this forum. I don't even remember which one. Sorry for leaving the wrong impression. Just check my favorites and you'll see for yourself.
Mirf59, The time that this song is set in $0.90 was like $10.00 to us now. Red Sovine never claimed to be "Rich Little" with his mimicking abilities. Enjoy the song or skip the song but dont try to ruin it for those of us who can look past miniscule "problems".
i might be young and all but i remember my daddy use to listen to this when we use to go to west va and to this day i cry thanks so mch for putting this songs on here
You need to appreciate those thing in your life and prase god and his son jesus for what they have giving you.Help those who need help without thinking about it you will be rewarded dearly.

I was named after this song so is that a good omen or bad?? I mean its about a dead lil girl but then at the end it says even though she gone shes the world to me and she always be that lil girl of mine so hummm...

This could very well be the worst song I have ever heard. Everything about it is wrong wrong wrong. The accent is exhibit A. Then, the main character proceeds to pimp out the story of his bifurcated daughter so he can save $0.90 on a rose. Honestly, it is hard to imagine that Red didn't do all this with one of the most perverse senses of humor the deliverance hills of Kentucky ever spawned.
