Look, I don't mean to come off as offensive, but...not EVERYONE believes in the Bible. And since that's what's so GREAT about AMERICA, there's no rule or law that says we have to follow the Bible.

So let's leave the Bible out of the law, and maybe we can leave the law out of the Bible.

I'm a teacher with a federal lawsuit that I filed in 2003 from Connecticut based on discrimination of my sexual orientation and race. I hope his bill to protect sexual orientation at the federal level is passed soon. My last ten days of employment was spent in a storage room from an administer that has been forced to resign in 5 states. I have 4 feet of binders of documentation of harassment, but what's tough is that it will take 10+ years for justice to be served & that it's not fully protected

God bless you !! You survived & you'll succeed in whatever you'd like to do-- to fight for justice or to let the evildoers meet their punishment in other ways. I believe in karma. These evildoers will receive their punishment in time, whether by the law or by the bad karma they have built.

bniemic, Thank you! I just finished my Ph.D. today. I'm very blessed by a supportive family, friends and colleagues. Some people have far worse situation than a lawsuit. Like the gay teenager that was tied to a chair, tortured, set on fire and discarded in the woods by two teenagers from his high school and at his funeral protesters yelled at family members about how they were going to hell. That's 10 miles from where I once lived. So I too will not waiver in my commitment to end discrimination

Wow i'm really impressed how he has the guts to stand up to the congress and publicly express that he will fight for the LGBT community. It gives hope for a better future. And I don't even live in the USA but in The Netherlands were everyone does have equal rights. But the Netherlands is only a tiny country, if the USA legalizes gay marriage it will have a big impact on the world so I can hardly wait until that day has come. Go Obama!
