  • Known about this man for years..... He is awesome !!!!

  • That's Freedy's grandparents on the cover of the album :). He lived with them for a couple of years. Adorable.

  • I used to love Freedy's shows. Everyone in the audience just stood there... silently listening...Cool.

  • Great pure pop! I missed this the first time around. Cool hooks, delivery, guitar, everything a pop song should be.

  • How come no one has the video? I know I saw it a few times on 120 Minutes. Plus, where did this guy go? He was the soundtrack to my first time in England.

  • The video used to be here but not anymore thanks to dumb copyright claims

  • Best track from an overall great album. All of "This Perfect World" is great, IMO.

  • one of my favorite songs ever!!! i feel like i can relate to it alot.

  • oh my god...finally found this song! was looking for an hour. LOve Love love it. Don't make good songs like this anymore. what a shame.

  • tell me about it ... awesome song ~ and thanks for the support of this song in the countdown!

  • Oh my God, I have not heard this song in 15 years. Forgot all about it. This song reminds me of skipping school and me and my best friend drinking his dad's beer all day, lol.

  • Great, great song - haven't heard it in ages. And very timely for me too, as there is someone special I am hoping to have back in my life soon :)

  • right on dude/chica!

  • i heard this song in 1994

  • I love this album. I remember being at Tower Records in early '95 and seeing it at the listening station advertised as "Butch Vig's Lastest Project!"

I thought "Bitchin!, he did that L7 album and the rock remix of that House of Pain song, this should be some agressive stuff!"

Well, obviously it wasn't aggro, but damn, it sure is sweet.

  • I love this song so much. Never gets old.

  • I hate it so much when a fantastic song is put into a shitty hollywood movie!! Sandler does this constantly!!

  • Kingpin and Kicking and Screaming were great movies!

  • ABSOLUTELY!!! Kicking and Screaming is in my top 5. "The Cookie Man". Wes Anderson totally ripped Noah Baumbachs writing style.

  • Well....Bottle Rocket and Kicking and Screaming came out the same year ('95), so I'm not so sure either one ripped the other off. At any rate, Wes Anderson and Noah Baumbach co-wrote The Life Aquatic together, so I guess all is forgiven. ;-)

  • @hooskerdu1

Absolutely true in the time sense but Kicking and Screaming and Mr. Jealousy are ALL over "The Royal Tennenbaums" and Rushmore. Whole lot of J.D. Salinger in there as well.

  • yes, it's definitely an easy out for the director when establishing mood. even a good movie shouldn't use great songs indiscriminately. like a rock by bob seger is forever linked to chevrolet (they're going out of business).

  • love this song

  • As I understand it, this song is supposedly about a man who after years of wasting his life away, wants an old love back in his life, but now he has become so out-casted and dismissed by society that he ask the question, "do you want me now?" after all the years of destroying himself, lying, drinking, etc....

  • As i see it ... you got it 100% bang on. 100%

  • AGREED! This is one of the best songs of the 90s even though it didn't chart very high.

Probably my fav song of that decade. Thanks for including it to the list!

  • i remember this song from the movie Kingpin with Woody Harrelson

  • "1955 to 2005" is not "All Time" is it? In fact it is 50 years.

  • Rock n roll was not around in 1417 wassit?

  • 'Dont you think Ive heard the talk.. Nobody's gonna tell me who to love...'

  • Love this song!

  • ohhhhhhh q gran canción!! gracias por colgarla!!!! :-)

  • One of the great songs of all time...for sure.

To go along with one of the best comedies of all time...Kingpin! Rent it, buy it, just friggin watch it!

  • thats exactly what i tell everyone

  • yeh i watched kingpin and loved this song. kingpins hilarious

  • I Loooooooooooooove This Song !

  • If I ever make my top 1000 songs all time probably not many people would enjoy it. But this song would most likely be on that list. I remember it from my first year in college back in 94/95

  • Well, thats how i felt when i started the project, but now that i have almost completed 500 songs on the website, i probably get more support/agreement now. This particular song has been well recieved.

  • Very simply, this album saved my life all those years ago...

  • kingpin

  • Everytime I hear this song I remember that I am a cabron.

  • i love google/utube/You for this...downloading it now ^^

  • Good stuff

  • Me encanto la pelicula vaya par de idiotas y esta cancion también es buenisima una de las mejores

  • This is one of the greatest songs of all time. In the last 15 or 30years it doesn't matter. This song is sooooooooo underated.

  • and i agree with boyce, thats why it made the top 1000 at my website

  • Patt....Just because it didn't receive the commercial success it deserved....It's still a great song, and in my opinion, easily one of the 1,000 best of the era.

  • Is this crazy, this was like a single, thats didn't do so well. i mean it came and went

  • lmao! bought Kingpin and watched it daily for 2 weeks!!! lol at milking the bull "took a while for her to warm up!

  • "well at least its a little tattoo" lmao

  • Kingpin... now theres a classic crack up film! remember when he milked the cow?

  • i heard freedy johnston on a film called kingpin, bad reputation, and had to find sum cd's, unfortunatly scotland only seems to want to sell britney spears and 50 cent cd's in its shops.

  • am so sorry to hear that

  • I can get it, here in the states....If you want to email your address, I'll gladly send a copy to you.

  • Freedy is so talented, and a really nice guy too. Met him in Austin, back in 2001....Nice, nice guy. Thanks for this Crowbarred!

  • BAD REPUTATION is one of my all time favorite songs-it is so hard to find-I have some of Freedy Johnston's other musica-but could never land this cd-

believe it or not-I heard it for the first time on the radio in Conservative College Station, Texas and was immediately haunted and glorified with the song!

    Miss Gena

  • I was absolutely in agreement with your "haunted and glorified" comment. The song is definitely one of the best, and deserved more success and status than it achieved. I remember loving it when it came out. I first heard it working as a waitress in my hometown - Phila PA

  • Thank god for the net Huh, This single came and went.Years later i hear it in at a cafe.

  • freedy made a video of this , he is great and this song is great Thanks man.

  • yeah! glad someone else realizes Freedy is in the TOP 100 of all time....
