Love this tune, beans rocks. I bought him a pint at a public enemy concert in edinburgh where he was supporting with the APC. The man only had dollars on him! :-) top guy, very original rapper!
@slumlord yo, huh? first off, percee pee and beans know each other personally (both from the bronx). they came up in the same scene early on. know your hip-hop before you try to type about things you obviously know nothing about. what a stupid statement. with your dumbass logic, i can go over to a percee p video and go: big daddy kane should sue percee p with the quickness.
couldn't agree more. never heard this guy before, stumbled across this while looking for something else. not a gold chain or gansta in sight. 'bout time. peace and fuckin', believe!
been trying to find out who did this tune for a few years now after hearing it on a dj shadow mix with no track listing. most of the other tracks on the mix are rare as and cost an arm and a leg to buy. i just copped this from discogs for £1. happy days
@rantantara lol "bout time"? as if before beans came along everything in hip-hop was "gold chain"s and "gangstas"? lol oh, and even though hes not wearing it in this video, beans is known for wearing a custom "gold chain" almost all the time (i know becaue he wears it other videos and when he performs live). lol, jokes on you. oh he actually grew up around "gangstas" too(the bronx). get educated and stop assuming hip-hop is the small percent you allow yourself to be exposed to.
@sucramnipp jeez man chill out. i'm well aware that hip hop had a long and diverse history before beans and there is alot of stuff that i haven't heard, but i love so much different music there simply aren't enough hours in the day to listen to and discover all the wonderful things that are out there.
@sucramnipp i'm also old enough to remember hip hop's beginnings and have been lucky enough to see gigs by public enemy, disposable heroes, sugarhill gang, gang starr, pharcyde, to name but a few. education enough for ya? i felt around the late 90's the genre began to lose it's creativity and the tacky commercial side became more prominent. regardless of beans' roots, it's clear he's not a 'gangsta rapper.' you're tone is over the top and completely inappropriate. i'm not your enemy.
i really think or know this is the funkiest nigga in the universe!

Meaning, that in a world filled with so much copycats, it's great to see an emcee that stands on creativity rather than superficiality. one love
