  • john promised to not "make us" read moby dick together but he did a few months ago! =P

  • This sounds insane, but when John, said drum role please, a second later, my brother started practicing him drums in the room over. Awesome.

  • I read the book Paper Towns and Margo Roth Spiegelman is one of my new favorite characters

  • AHH! William Carlos Williams! This is Just To Say is my all time favorite of his poems! I did a project on him in 11th grade.

  • I like the way you say orange :)

  • AHHH.

John Green. You have fallen into the Fallacy that Hamlet is indecisive. I just...I'm so mad at you. Not Mad. Disappointed.

Since when does "So a ghost said that my uncle killed my father. I must 1)Prove that this is true and 2) Revenge my father. AND THEN EXECUTING THIS PLAN IN 1 WEEK (Shakespeare time)" INDECISIVE????

  • John, you're in Mobile!!! YOU COULD'VE SEEN THE LEPRECHAUN!!!

  • The last few seconds made me laugh so hard because I have read "This is Just to Say".

Wow. I'll never doubt my nerdiness again.

For it's misconception on an adolecent's death.

    Fail.

  • I like the concept of LOLbooks! <3

  • Lest we forget the leprechaun in Mobile.

  • I really think that the best blurb for Slaughterhouse Five is, in fact:

    "Poo-too-weet."

(P.S. Audio preview of Poo-too-weet is pretty good.)

  • Moby Dick in your pants ... come on, that one was right there!

what worries me is that i do this in real life all the time.

  • Oh dear God. I am so proud of my WordNerdfighting for getting that reference.

  • My favorite William Carlos Williams poem! I can't believe you lol'd it! <3

  • OMG! Thats my favorite WCW poem!

  • I read that poem in creative writing, and I think I was the only person in the room who actually apreciated the simplicity XDD

    Th5 1z juzzt 2 sezzs XDDDD

    Beautiful

  • I don't exactly know what a blurb is.....

    Explain?

  • haha!

    pointless poem

pretty in its simple kind of way though

  • Hahaha! That's a much better title than "This is Just to Say"

  • William Carlos Williams! <3

  • I love the way you say orange. And blurb.

  • Wow. He actually said "Sarah".

  • Totally read that poem just a few weeks ago. Hated its pointlessness, loved your blurb.

Actually, I think I will pose this question to an upcoming question tuesday: Could you please explain the point of that William Carlos Williams poem, and also what his mother was possibly thinking when she named him? I doubt you read comments this far back so I'll pose this for some recent video...

  • I did a speech on William Carlos Willams. That poem is awesome!!

  • Is the blurbing thing still going on??

  • Why do you pronounce "orange" as "ornge?" WHERE ARE YOUR VOWELS, MAN!

  • a lot of people in the US pronounce it that way, most people I know do.

  • @MrSketchyGalore That doesn't make it any less funny :P

  • I just heard about that poem today. It was actually a note to his wife.

  • I'm so happy you've acknowledged Frezned!

I've always thought B2.0 and Frezned were the best on YouTube.

And when I first saw you guys, I thought the sharp cuts and some "double personality" scenes that you did were similar to Frezned's.

  • LOLBooks!

  • William Carlos Williams is so jokes. Love it.

  • I didn't realize that I say orange like that until I tried to say it. *shiver* OhGodwhy?

  • Ha! I know that poem! You should have mentioned the response by Erica-Lynn Gambino...My favorite line of which is "Forgive me, you were driving me insane." Ahh, finally my random knowledge of poems is useful to me! NERD FIGHTERS!

  • John, u shouldn't sit on the comforter.

    I love you guys

  • OMG I love Frezned too! I think he's my second favorite channel after you guys.

  • john, guess what happened to me today? I was reading your book, Looking For Alaska, in World History instead of doing my work. My teacher caught me, chewed me out, then handed me the worksheet I was supposed to be doing... It was titled, "Simon Bolivar's Labyrinth". How creepy is that?? It's true that we've started on the chapter on Latin American Revolutions, but talk about coincidence!

  • That's really cool! Did you mention it to your teacher?

  • I did, actually... unfortunately, my teacher has never heard of that book or of John Green. I'm pretty sure she just thought I was strange.

  • i love how he says :"orange": he says it like "ornge"!!!

  • I think it would be hilarious if you guys read a book like those "Twilight" books that seem to be big with some people right now. Haha, it would be so cool to see the reactions to them.

  • Great post as always guys. I paused it for a phone call at 2:16; so funny! Its worth the time guys it looks like John drunk trying to fake a come hither look for a laugh.

  • Ah yes. The plums poem. It goes like this: I have eaten the plums that were in the icebox and which you were probably saving for breakfast Forgive me they were delicious so sweet and so cold -William Carlos Williams What a jerk. So mean to rub it in his face. Pfft.

    Thank you!

  • oh and i wanted to mention all the parts in this video that were the most awesome but then i realized it would be smarter just to recount the entire thing using different words and longer sentences.

    k thnkx bye!

  • ORNGE.

  • what is DFTBA???

  • Don't Forget to Be Awesome, the nerdfighter motto.

  • How cool would be to have been delivered by Dr. William Carlos Williams? I wonder if any of those babies went on to be writers or artists. You know, that group who Marshall McLuhen refers to as the "enema of society" (he meant that in a good way, really). "Well I'll ya' Pilgram" that "Slaughterhouse 5" is one of my favorite books! Like so many others (Catch 22 comes to mind), the movie just can't hold an ear-candle to the novel. If I can figure out ftw a "blurb" is I'll try to compose one...

  • Too those who have not read that particular poem it goes something like this

I LOVE that poem...sorta...when I was younger we had to read it for class...:-D

  • what are the chances that I'd read that poem? We had to memorize it a couple of years ago for school.

"I have eaten the plums that were in the icebox

And which you were probably saving for breakfast

    Forgive me

    They were delicious

    So sweet and so cold"

Or something like that. I think. Unless I have the wrong one. But how many poems are there about eating plums?

  • HAHAHA that last one was brilliant!

  • that was a great!! great!! great!! lol thing for the poem

  • Is it nerdy to write on your hand? Does writing on your hand have any awesome factor at all, or is it just plain poisoning yourself?

  • Theres an amazing documentry about 'mardi gras' beads and how they are made. They are made in large windowless factories in china. Check it out. It's called Mardi Gras: Made in China

  • seconded. that's one of the best documentaries i've ever seen.

  • Yes Hank, they have a parade in Mobile, Alabama every single time you visit and they have to ship in numerous crates of plastic beads to dress the celebrations.lol
