To all friends interested in music, I am still researching the origin of this great tune. I'm sure it's european. This melody has been adopted by the citizens of La Paz ( the facto capital of Bolivia) and i'm trying to tell them that it comes from Europe. Morover, I have thought that C. Coborn was the author. Please write if there is more information. Thank you tigranvartanovitch for your answer.
Really enjoyable - A song from a true Music Hall star I remember my Father singing this one over and over back in the Forties when I was a little lad and amazingly still enjoying it. Many thanks for posting.
@trublgrl Even though I don't think Mr. Coburn sounds like Henry Crun, it's pleasing to know anybody is still around who remembers Henry Crun and Minnie Bannister, and the whole cast of "The Goon Show." This song simply cries out to be rewritten about modern sports arguments, which all too often lead to bloodshed, and given the chance I may write and record that version.
Thank you for this song. The melody has a historical importance for the Department of La Paz -Bolivia-South América. This composer should be honored by the people of La Paz. The truth of the matter is that the people of La Paz have adopted the melody for the Department's SECOND HYMN after of course the Hymn to La Paz. this is a very popular melody and in Spanish it's called "Oh! LInda La Paz". Few know the background of this wonderful song. Thank you Charles.
Haha this song is so true, me and my friend argue about politics all the time! I swear it is only a matter of time before one of us gets two lovely black eyes!
Songs like this remind us of how common urban violence used to be. The law was never made for the lower classes, this is almost as true now as it was then.
This guy's got a nice outlook on politics.

@otoniel509ify So the tune is Bolivian? The Italians say it's Italian, and the Russians say it's Russian.

Coborn sounds so much like Henry Crun from "The Goon Show" (Voiced by Peter Sellars)
