I worked hard all of my life. I drove a truck as a carrer, and I liked alot of the things that went along with it. It's too bad that now there are so many unrealistic rules that the DOT has put on the drivers. It use to be fun driving, but not anymore. I paid the price though. I'm now disabled due to back problems that this job caused. And so far as making a good living at it, forget it. We need to unionize these companys!!!

Love Gene, but I don't know any job where you get paid double time on the weekends. I belong to a union and get paid time and a half on Saturday and double time on Sunday where my non union counterparts don't get paid ANY overtime (time and a half) unless they exceed 40 hours in a week, and it doesn't matter if it's the "weekend". So I'm not sure where he's referring to where people get paid double time when they work on Saturday or Sunday. If there is, let me know...

I'm a 'cable guy', and I have been bitching lately about having to work 70-80 hours per week... Bitching about the workload I suppose, not the money. The company i work for. Its owned by a Jewish guy. He doesn't want to pay his employees overtime. So he offers them comp time. Lets say you work 8 hours on a saturday. You have worked 48 hours, 8 hours of overtime. He doesn't want to pay overtime ( its aganist federal rules) but he don't care. The 8 hours you work, you can take an extra day off during the year. If you work 8 hours of OT you get an extra $150 in your check and then take out the taxes. But he doesn't want to pay. He a cheap jew
you can't get double time just because you want to. your employer has to give it to you. however, u can get another job for your weekend. that will add up to 100 more days worked a year, not 200. anyways, i like my days off though.

i don't think the employees decides whether they can work more than the maximum allowed. employers will rather hire another person than to give you double time :S :S :S. if u get two jobs then u don't get doubletime so its actually 100 days extra of work. times 8 hours a day times 10 bucks an hour so thats an extra $8000, after tax you would make $7400. but its still best to listen to gene for life tips.

Gene...what an inspiration. he's a legend. very smart. however, it's easy for Gene to say work more because it's not work to him. he loves doing his main thing in KISS and doing his business endeavors on the side. making money is easy for him haha. and my hats off to him. he came from nothing and became one of the biggest names and arguably the most successful man in rock and roll financially and he earned it all.

It was optional for them, that after 7 months some had a complete breakdown. In italy and england don't they work less hours and get paid more money??? i don't think the employees decides whether they can work more than the maximum allowed. employers will rather hire another person than to give you double time :S :S :S. if u get two jobs then u don't get doubletime so its actually 100 days extra of work. times 8 hours a day times 10 bucks an hour so thats an extra $8000, after tax you would make $7400. but its still best to listen to gene for life tips.
