@wwwluckyro perhaps you might be able to see better what colors and clarity the HF200 is really capable of in this video, which is filmed inside, outside, and at night time under artificial lighting. its mostly youtube, but the tint look is from the camera but more lighting, and editing helps solve these problems

It's the exact same thing with me. I have a Canon HF200 and recording it at 24mbps and without converting the raw footage if uploaded to youtube the video gets sound or video artifacts. Youtube's avchd decoding process needs to be tweaked. I record my video at 17mbps which is still 1920 x 1080 resolution but without the sound and video artifacts or one other option is to convert the video file before uploading to youtube with sony vegas pro or some other program...

Well, remember that youtube allows resolution up to 720p atm. And this is recorded in FULL HD (1080p), which means it's not the actual quality, if you know what I mean. Rumors says Youtube is soon upgrading to let users upload their vids in 1080p. Nice camera, I'm buying it! Although it costs £640 here in Norway. Everyone; get Sony Vegas 8 og Adobe After Effects :)

Reviews on the net rate this model as average only, but I think it's one of the better Cameras.

There are cheaper ones than 600 Euro but I think you always get what you pay for.

Times have changed so much. In the early days you needed tapes to store recordings. They didn't last forever but this system really rocks.

All it says is "Large 960x540" or "Full original size". Nothing that has 1920x1080. Its really driving me crazy.

Do you have iMovie '09 or an earlier version? Just import "Full original size". It's all you're gonna get and it's probably more than enough.

I just purchased a Canon HF200 and after a long day of shooting on vacation I put my 16GB, 6 class meomery card into iMovie 09 only to discover that it would only let me import at "960x540"? I know my settings are set at the highest quailty on my camera (At least I believe.. MXP right?). I've searched the web trying to find the answer to this but obiviously no luck.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Can you see on the last row from the import window "Import 1080i video as" ? Don't you have 2 options? Is the Full - 1920x1080 disabled?

Yeah it's pretty okay. It's my first HD cam so I don't know what I should be expecting from it. The quality is impressive.
