I was Guard from 88-90 I'm now with the US Border Patrol drill team-even we need help sometimes! Good luck guys wish I could help but I don't live in SA anymore.
ilikebbq2000 - sorry to hear that. I am a '73 graduate and can tell you that back then the "Guard" was respected as much as any jock! They were the baddest boys on the block! When they performed at rallies the cheering would shake the walls. I'm still proud of them!
ok well we really do need help..im a freshman who is a squad leader and i think we have no chance at competiting against high ranked schools...we barely have a 3 by 3 and do not look like "THE MACHINE" at all :( any alumni out there...we seriously need your help...we are barly going to western regionals (forget about nationals) and only 7 elligable people know the sequence but we meet after school from 345-6 and we have a competition this weekend soo we could use all the help we can get
Yeah we really need help...im just a freshman, and because we have such few number and inexperience members, we are not going to nationals and we are barely going to western regionals...we have a 3 by 3 with me as first squad leader and a sophomore as 2nd and a senor as 3rd...seriously if anyone can..help us we meet everyday after school in the quad from 345-6
I read your comment today. I have been trying to work something out with CCHS in obtaining a DVD copy of any championship competition. I first they said yes , now they are saying no. I want to send my son there soon and I was wondering if I could buy a copy of any DVD you might have. I'd really appreciate this.
The bad thing about cc is that the guard isn't as popular as it once was. The football players and jocks would make fun of us daily. But the feel of that rifle in your hand made it all worth it.
I was on from 03 to 05. We won a few times spinning the rifle was so awesome. Too bad i graduated from cross though or id show yall some good stuff. Confusion, Dorcy, Rosales and so on. My mother still has the videos
Hail Central !! i was in the Guard back in the 69-70s. my son is also a grad !! we had more in the drill team. keep doing it guys, one thing, if we moved our heads all over the place we had to run laps. our helmets were blue back then and the Lloyd Rifles had black.your diagonal lines are off as well. ok im hard because the GUARD is a perfect machine !! Hail Central
Wow Chris your Alma Matre has got some skills. Even tho this vid is old school, I still think they could still kick some a** at Nats with a routine like that!

the ripple was pretty darn awesome...
you could see this little spark of light (the light reflection off the rifle) going left to right, right to left.
great routine :D
in my opinion, it deserves 1st place in nationals...

@arajason It would have been, but there were two dropped weapons. (edited out of the video)

Thanks Bro. What's amazing is that even 13 years later I can still spot every mistake...

great sequence I saw part of it on "devoted" and I was wondering what the rest of the sequence that was cut looked like but now I know.
