the first time i saw kill bill v.1 at a drive-in theater i thought it was boring soo i fell asleep when i saw v.2 i was thinking "how stupid of me to have fallen asleep in the 1st one" =I
# 10 was a oliver stone movie...and tarantino have said in interviews how the only thing thats the same in the movie as what he wrote were the names of the main 2 people
@theBrickCity1986 Actually, it is neither... It is Stealers Wheel... but the vocals definitely sound a lot like Bob Dylan, which is actually pointed out in the movie. Steven Wright's voiceover describes the song as "dylanesque".
@RazzaBeeDaSilva Yeah, he only directed only 7 films but what's your point? Kubrick only directed 13 films in his FOURTY-SIX year career and he is arguably in the top 5 directors ever. So your point about him not making that many films is just silly. It's not about how much films you make, it's how good they are. Quality > quantity, always. QT hasn't even been out for 20 years and half of his films are already classic. He's not THE best out but he's definitely a legend at this point.
@thelatestttplague 2 of his films are classics! not half! and my point was that having only directed 7 films he has not done nearly enough to be called the best! especially if only 2 of them are classics! he hasnt exactly shown much versatility either! im a fan of his yeah, hes great, but very overrated by some people, he is definately not the best ever, not even close!
@RazzaBeeDaSilva To you only two are "classics" but half are ranked in the top American films. & What do mean he hasn't shown that much versatility? All his films are completely different. Reservoir Dogs: Heist/Crime, Pulp Fiction: Crime/Neo Noir, Jackie Brown: Blaxploitation/Crime, Kill Bill: Martial Arts/Action Revenge, Death Proof: Horror, Basterds: War
That's pretty diverse to me. Of course he puts his own quirky style on the genres but they are all very different. That is a fact.
@thelatestttplague not a fact! theyre not very different at all! he just sprouts a kind of a mixture of the same stuff! just slaps in a long dialogue somewhere and gets his fanboys thinking hes special!
@RazzaBeeDaSilva You're delusional my friend. How is it not a fact? The films are of completely different genres and subjects. That makes them different, period. Like I said before, he puts his own little spin on the genres but overall, the films are vastly different. Only recognizable by Tarantino's signature style. What you're saying would be like saying Scorsese, Lynch, or Kubrick don't have versatility because they all have their own specific filmmaking style. Most Auteurs are like this.
@thelatestttplague im not delusional! im not your friend! its called a difference of opinion! and as expected you just repeated yourself which im not even going to bother to do because its a waste of time! and btw you were spot on with Scorsese and the versatility thing, hes never shown much either, some, but not a lot! but hes still one of the best because he has mixed quality with quantity enough to be called that! unlike Tarantino whos only made 2 of the highest quality!
I don't agree with how people can divide up Kill Bill Vol 1 & 2. The movie was divided into two parts because of its long running time. I don't look at Kill Bill Vol 1 and 2 as seperate films and I think thats the way the films should be viewed. Kill Bill 1 & 2 form a single narrative and is much more enjoyable when viewed as such..
To really love Deathproof you have to have either grown up in the era of Muscle car chase films or have viewed and enjoyed them. films like: The seven ups, The French Connection, Bullitt, Vanishing Point, Two Lane Blacktop.
Pulp Fiction has been copied to death since it came out in 1994 so it can seem a little stale now to a new viewer. Not so 15 years ago when Pulp Fiction was a breath of fresh air from the same old movies we were used to at the time. The thing about Tarantino is he never makes the same movie twice, all his movies have a unique feel. A couple of "honorary" Tarantino films are Crimson Tide which Tarantino wrote a few lines of dialogue for, and Die Hard 3 which was influenced by Pulp Fiction.
This guys taste in movies sucks gofer nutz!!! its quinton tarantino (weird) what do you expect. I mean natural born killers is fucking awesome. you should crawl back inside your moms filthy birthing hole and die like your daddys cock did, you pussy!!
In my opinion, (and I'm only including ones that he both wrote and directed)(No From Dusk Till Dawn, which I hated.)(1 being my favorite) 1. Inglourious Basterds 2. Pulp Fiction 3. Kill Bill Vol. 2 4. Reservoir Dogs 5. Kill Bill Vol. 1 6 Jackie Brown Although I loved all of them, that's my order. I have not yet seen Death Proof though.
I agree for From Dusk Till Dawn. The first half of the movie is a great, great story. Too bad it turned into a vampire flick, although it stays enjoyable.
It is quite difficult to rate his movies being that they are all brilliant. If i had to pick one favorite it would have to be pulp fiction, followed by both kill bill volumes and inglorious basterds in a close second, then reservoir dogs, and so on. I'm just basing off of his actual movies. The ones he wrote and directed and the whole nine yards. From Dusk till dawn was not his creation he just took part in its development and acted in it, and sin city he had a small hand in.
I'm sure this has been said, but "Stuck in the Middle With You" is not by the Steve Miller Band. It is performed by Steelers Wheel. Nonetheless, good, fun reviews. Video score 8.7/10
i watched pulp fiction when i was younger i did not like it but i was young and full of you know what lol but now im older i watched it again and holy shit i was dissapointed this movie had to end
From Dusk Till Dawn was written in two halves. The whole first half before Mexico is Tarantino, and the second Half, once the cast reach Mexico is Rodriguez. Thats why you probably hated it from halfway through :L
Jackie Brown is a quality crime film. My list would be 1) Pulp Fiction 2) Reservoir Dogs 3) Jackie Brown 4) Inglorious Basterds 5) True Romance. And I would end it there.
FYI, Stuck in the Middle is by Stealers Wheel not Steve Miller.
FUCK YOU , from dusk till dawn is THE BEST one , i knew it, just when i started this video i was like "hes gonna put fdtd on the lowest one" , fuck you
I totally agree w/ you on how From Dusk Til Dawn goes downhill, but you have to blame that on Rodriguez. It's the way the vamps look, and the cartoonish aspect of the big showdown. You can see QT's input in the dialogue, which is still great. It's just the cheesy special effects and general silliness of the vampires ruin it. A shame, 'cause there were a lot of great performances.
I loved NBK, but it's certainly more Oliver Stone's show than Tarantino's.
Reservoir Dogs at 3? Uhhhh......no. Death Proof should have been the worst, Dusk to Dawn higher, and NBK is a good flick, but you can tell the QT parts and the parts that Oliver Stone screwed.
Pulp Fiction : fanniest scene ever, where the car bumps and the black bro gets headshoted !!! hahahahahahaha - and believe it or not i just went a couple of blocks and bought it to see it again :)
I also have a love for Tarantino films I've seen em all 100 times and they get better everytime but I would have to disagree with your list I'd put Death Proof at the bottom because I just disliked the story and I'd Inglorious Bastards at numero uno that movie was amazing it was one of th very few films that could be so bloody and gory yet funny at the same time then put Pulp Fiction right behind it at numero dos.
Natural Born Killers was not the movie that Tarantino wrote. He said in an interview that Oliver Stone and the other writers completely changed the story and that only very little of the original script was left in.
Don't Get me wrong though your list is exceptional and i agree on everything you said besides the parts where you said you didn't like the movies because they where strange. Pulp Fiction is definitely the number 1 film Quentin Tarantino has made! Great video
You keep saying that the films where strange, But isn't that the point of a Quentin Tarantino film? I always catch myself watching the movie twice just to fully understand whats going on. Not a lot of movies are like his, that's because they are very intellectual and require comprehension of the subject. (Witch a lot of movies don't require) If you didn't like a film because it was "Strange" watch it through a couple times. Movie making is an art, and all art can't just be observed once.
i can never decide between pupl fiction and reservoir dogs, they are both so cool and just rediculously awesome which isnt suprising for tarantino. ive only seen 5 of his movies so far but i'll get round to wating the other 4/5 soon
Quentin Tarantino is strange and make his movies strange, thats why they're good, you dont know what will happen like every other story plot that is predictable and crap.
i agree with your bottom 3 although i would say four Rooms, Natural Born Killerz, and From Dusk Till Dawn but I don't get your reasoning aren't his movies supposed to be somewhat strange and quirky?
Good video. Mine would probably look like this. 11. Natural Born Killers 10. From Dusk til Dawn 9. 4 rooms 8. death proof 7.kill bill volume 1 6. kill bill volume 2 5. Jackie Brown 4. Reservoir Dogs 3. Inglourious Basterds 2. Pulp Fiction 1. True romance
lol i know most people get bored at it, but i REALLY love the dialogs, you know like the girls are so mean :P there like me and my friends, and i love the fact that the movie is unpredictible and the contrast between the two stories, the soundtrack is just amazing, my top would be 1. Inglorious Basterds 2. Pulp Fiction 3.Death Proof 4.Kill Bill 1 & 2 equally liked) 5. Reservoir Dogs 6. Natural Born Killers 7. From Dust till Dawn 8. Four Rooms 9. Jackie Brown
lot of people don't get it. It's some of the greatest character development ever. It builds with dialogue and has a car chase that brings you a pay-off
Jackie Brown is WAY too low on the list. True Romance was entertaining but left me with nothing to hold onto in my mind. Jackie Brown is like a line of chambers that opens a new one up evry time you watch it. You realize so many new things as it goes on. Besides that, I pretty much agree with you. I prefer Basterds over Dogs, though. And you sound like you criticize the weirdness of his films. That's something I embrace, because he has the balls to perform creatively on film like nobody else is.
From Dusk till Dawn might have more respect from viewers if it wasn't for twilight >:(

it makes me sick when people try saying Tarantino is one of, if not the best of all time!! hes only directed 7 films! SEVEN ! :|
im a big fan of his but he is nowhere near the calliber of Spielberg, Scorsese...
he hasnt done anywhere near enough films and has barely shown any versatility in his work!
Reservoir Dogs = a classic!
Pulp Fiction = a classic!
Jackie Brown = quite good!
