Amnion is apparently Alex's & Josh's mom, which explains why it has 'breasts' and the similarities in the facial structure. You can see actually 2 pairs of breasts, representing her nurturing/raising both Josh and Alex seperately.

This boss was really easy. People might think it's easy just because you can use all of your ammo and health drinks, but I forgot to go back into the room and get all my stuff. It wouldn't let me backtrack, so I fought it with just 9 bullets from a pistol and my knife. It was still really easy.

so i just beat this game, and i hav to say for a final boss this sure wasnt very difficult. it was just really creepy lol it has a tube that goes from its mouth to its genitals and its face can divide into lik 6parts. the spider legs ddnt bother me much and neither did the pregnent belly.

Perhaps amnion was Alexs mother trying to protect Josh because through out her life she took a back seat and her husband controlled everything so this would be her last chance at doing something to protect her children, and she was fighting Alex because he's the one who killed Josh in the first place even if it was by accident. You can't call this the "wrong ending". Like Silent Hill 2, the ending you get is the "true ending". It's left up to the player in SH2 and SHH to decide which ending is canon.
