  • @ComfortablyPlump13 C.S. Lewis was the christian author that wrote deep philosophical books, as well as the Narnia books. Jon is the lead singer of Switchfoot. I like to compare them, because they are both so passionate and beautiful in their praise.

  • love love love love this song!! att. an atheist

  • The song is so beautiful in that it removes any and all bits of the gloss and sheen from the entertainment industry to speak to everyone's need to a Holy God.

  • This is my new favorite song of theirs - and it's even more amazing live/acoustic. Switchfoot makes me happy.

  • I think Gods love is bigger than any sin we have commited.. when we get away from him songs like this bring us back and remind us how he is always there always always always.

  • They don't create music. They voice their emotions in a beautiful way.

  • They don't create music, they create pure gold.

  • this song makes me wanna cry

  • they sound perfect acoustic!

  • By the way, Great Video =) I love this song, describes what I'm going through perfectly <3

  • with every heart beat, all of my blood bleeds, running inside me, looking for YOU.

Jon Foreman is a genius songwriter :)

  • Heard this and made a cover of this right after. Thats how friggin inspiring this is.

  • Fuckin' Amazing!!!!!

    Very Beautiful!!!!

  • @nianfreire - Hey Bud this is a Christian song watch the language bro - Are you a christian??? If not feel free to reply and I can help

  • @GOLFforeGOD ... But in the end, what is "fuck"? Just another word tossed here and tossed there. There are much more important things to worry about in the world than language issues. Poverty and world hunger, for example.

  • @superclaydude Well actually in the end is hell for using words like that-The bible says if you live according to his commands we shouldn't use those words but ask him for forgiveness if we do- So the real question is this:wouldn't you rather live life thinking God does exist, doing things his way and then find out there really wasn't a God or would you rather live life thinking God really doesn't exist and then find out he does? you either die a good person or die and go to hell your call man

  • @GOLFforeGOD name one instance in the Bible where someone is prosecuted for swearing or using any kind of "bad language." And I'm not talking about prophets or priestly figures "calling curses" on their enemies "in the name of the LORD."

  • @superclaydude Colossians 3:8

But now you must put them all away: anger, wrath, malice, slander, and obscene talk from your mouth.

    Matthew 15:10-11

And he called the people to him and said to them, “Hear and understand: it is not what goes into the mouth that defiles a person, but what comes out of the mouth; this defiles a person.”

    Ephesians 4:29

-- The whole list doesn't fit ...but Google 'bible verses on cussing' and you'll get some results (some results are about curses but most are cussing

  • @GOLFforeGOD I would tell a Christian not to cuss for this reason, but I wouldn't tell a non Christian not to cuss because they aren't IN CHRIST yet. Yes I am a christian, and I love God. THis is my opinion on the subject. I got arrested for shoplifting a month ago, and that makes me no different from anyone else thats a christian. God loes me just the same whther I cuss or steal or what. I try not to obveously, but I fail . I am restless for Jesus, and I am not ashamed.

  • @hannahjeanrose

Just be careful not to abuse God's grace though -

Romans 6:1-2 What shall we say, then? Shall we go on sinning so that grace may increase? By no means! We are those who have died to sin; how can we live in it any longer?

And for the cussing and foul language lets look at the route of our problem. Think about the origin and the meaning behind all foul language (swears), they have all been develop from sin for they come from immorality.

  • @hannahjeanrose

I believe that we need to pray to God and let the Lord convict us in the grey areas of life- but above all we need to think, is swearing the fruit of the spirit, does it encourage one another in Christ? Jesus would not say these things and we are to live like him. Also another thing to point out is what is read in 1 Corinthians 8. Even if swearing was okay to do, which is is not, it causes a stumbling block on the conscience of the weak. Read that passage pls. God Bless U.

  • @GOLFforeGOD Dude none of that refers to cussing. it refers to using "bad language" as in if someone was talking dirty or making dirty jokes, or being mean or rude or hateful. Cussing was not invented back then. Our culture made that up. I personally won't cuss because we are supposed to be different and as the bible says " let what you do be right in the eyes of everyone" and our culture deemed "cuss words" as "bad" and since we are supposed to do whats right in everyones eyes, I won't cuss

  • @superclaydude I also agree with you! We have many bad things in the world beyond verbal expressions to worry about ... but I understood what @GOLFforeGOD meant.

    Big hugs to you all.

  • @GOLFforeGOD I know thats a Christian song and I AM a Christian!!!!!!!

It was just an expression ... one does not exclude the other, you know?

By the way: I LOVE GOD! (that's what matters!)

  • @GOLFforeGOD Ps.: and I also like switchfoot!!!!!

    Hugs!

  • @nianfreire No one is perfect and we all sin- I don't deal with profanity as a sin, but I have other sins I commit.you seem to deal with profanity. As Christians we are supposed to reflect God in all we do and if we say we are Christians and cuss or get angry or cheat or steal we aren't reflecting God and aren't any different from the world. So if you say you are a Christian, try your absolute best not to sin-if it involves using another word for the F-word than maybe that's what you have to do

  • @GOLFforeGOD Truth! I totally agree with you! We are Christians, but we all sin and make mistakes sometimes... we must try not to sin and live a life based on the teachings of Jesus. Just wanted to justify myself and say that I had no bad intention in using that expression, you know?

    But that's it!

We are all brothers and think alike! (and also like Switchfoot)

    Stay with God!

  • Jon Foreman= modern day C.S. Lewis

  • @nolegirl97 Did C.S Lewis sing? And did Jon write a novel? I'm not trying to be mean or anything, I'm honestly curious.

  • The amount of passion they put into their music is just incredible.

  • I got chills.

  • So beautiful

  • Switchfoot was at Rock the Universe not Night of Joy this year

  • One of the greatest bands of all time... Expertly weaving music into gold.

  • EPIC!!
